Why dont you focus on all the things I've bought which i did not return? Theres far more of those than the returns. What about all the stuff thats gone in the bin because i wanted to avoid the humiliation of returning it and being refused? I bet supermarkets must be making huge profits on selling bad quality food that people end up throwing away. If you dont fight for your rights you'll lose them completely.

but the shop IS focusing on the things you return or get a refund for rather than keep, that is the whole point of this thread.

Lets say i goto into a supermarket and buy a box of own brand tea then when i get home decide i dont like it and they refund me.
Then i buy tetly teas and dont like it, then i buy pg tips and dont like it. then i buy yorkshire tea and decide i dont like it. Then i buy brand x of tea and dont like it.
Do you think it would be right to expect the store to refund me every time even though the tea was fine but i didnt like the taste?
If i buy a lemon and i find it tastes too sharp does that warrant a refund?
A ready meal and the veg was too hard or too soft?

IWhen you do get a refund are you returning the complete product or are you consuming it?

Of course the store should refund you every time that you deserve a refund. Do you agree?

There is no law that restricts the number of refunds allowed. Its a case by case basis.

The weather can play a big role in the quality of fruit and veg. If the weather has been bad then all of that years harvest will come out defective. Supermarkets are crafty they may reduce the prices on the said crops and not tell you the reasons. As an example:
    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solanine

Some potato diseases, such as late blight, can dramatically increase the levels of glycoalkaloids present in potatoes. Tubers damaged in harvesting and/or transport also produce increased levels of glycoalkaloids; this is believed to be a natural reaction of the plant in response to disease and damage.

I bet you werent even aware of that!

    Fred mate you’re totally wrong.

You are returning too much. You are too picky. Nobody else has the problems you do which means YOU are the problem, not the veg.

I suggest you start your own vegetable patch. Or only buy loose veg so you can very clearly see if it’s ‘rotten’ or not. It’s actually very easy, and if you’re buying fruit and veg daily I’m not sure how you haven’t learned what is good and what’s bad yet. If you can’t tell what food is rotten and what isn’t, maybe take a friend or carer with you who can tell you. Because it’s really easy and the reason the store will ban you is because you are the problem, not their food. They can’t fix the fake problem, but they can fix the problem of you going into their shop and wasting their time and money.

I think youre being malicious. I doubt you would like it if you were banned from your local supermarket for no good reason.

So how do you avoid giving that impression? By refraining from returning things everytime youre sold a rotten piece of fruit or veg. How is that consumer rights?

Why would you buy a rotten piece of fruit given that you shop daily.

How many refunds have been for rotten fruit rather than fruit that doesn’t suit your palate

I still think you are taking the !!!!

If you go into a casino every day and you win every day you are entitled to that money. Even if it is suspicious.

Thats the way I look at this. I am not fussy I just expect the same high quality every time not just occasionally. If I buy it 100 times and its bad 100 times and it can be proven, then i am entitled to 100 refunds no matter how suspicious it is. The problem that is being ignored is there is no way to prove it one way or the other so it just gets decided on a whim. I would expect even more compensation if it kept happening. A ban is just the easy solution for them but its not justified. Can they ban you just for your age religion race or sexuality too if it doesnt suit them? Its no different is it?

If you went in to a casino every day and won every day they would ban you eventually.

The rest of what you say is just bull ****

You are focussing too much on the law.
You avoid giving that impression , by behaving more like the average customer.
At the moment you are behaving like the crazy customer.
They are tired of you, they don't have to have to legally justify why you are getting on their nerves.
You just are, but for some unfathomable reason , you can't see that.
I'm assuming they've already banned you. You can't do anything about it.

No they can't. Yes, it's different.

If you can't understand the difference between illegal and legal discrimination it's pointless people debating this with you. You have far more fundamental things than fruit ripeness to grasp before you're capable of holding your end of a reasoned argument.

no it doesnt work both ways. I am forced to shop at the supermarkets theres no other way to buy such a large selection of food than going to the supermarkets. They can ban me because it has zero effect on their profits. My loss is far greater than their loss.

Shop on amazon pantry, continue the behaviour and see how long you last before being banned.

If the fruit and veg is so bad that you have to keep returning it why are you still shopping there? A cynical person might think it's a scam to get free food.
