I think youre missing the point here. A person who abuses the policy by returning items if theyve changed their mind by claiming its faulty is indistinguishable from a person who is genuinely dissatisfied and within their rights.
Its not my fault I cant prove it. I'm being framed and treated as if im a criminal. Assuming my account of events is true, what have I done wrong that justifies a ban or other punishment?

You're missing the point. You have no "right" to return foodstuffs for a refund simply because you are personally dissatisfied with the quality - you are doing so under the store's goodwill policy. What you've done is used this policy excessively in the store's view. I'm only surprised that it has taken years for them to decide to withdraw this goodwill gesture or deem your custom is no longer welcome.

Do you think you have a statutory right to a refund because your melon isn't of exactly the right level of ripeness, for example?

Look mate if youre going to be clever. You tell me, whats the exact level of ripeness that would be deemed fit for sale and consumption? Who decides, me or them?
How do you prove that the quality is satisfactory?
All fresh produce is highly variable in quality and often once picked will not improve. Customers expect and deserve the best quality produce not merely edible. Its my money, I should be the judge.

It's their store, they should be the judge of whether they want your custom or not. They appear not to.

If a store has a policy then they should comply with it. There is no small print about "excessive returns". A person who buys frequently will obviously make more returns than a person who only buys infrequently

I suspect none of their policies will be applicable to you shortly.

I shop most days. Never ever returned any fruit or veg, or wanted to.

Why dont consumer rights apply to food as well? Under the Consumer rights act all products must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. They cant just stop doing a refund because they've had enough.

That's not what the law says, though, so you need to stop going on about your "consumer rights".

As already explained, they will tell you it's your last refund because they are not happy with your shopping behaviour;)
    It's private property , you'll be banned.

I think youre being malicious. I doubt you would like it if you were banned from your local supermarket for no good reason.
