No, you don't "waive your consumer rights", you retain them by buying your stuff somewhere else.

It doesn't sound like you were merely "claiming your consumer rights" anyway, more like taking advantage of the store's own overly-generous refund policy. Do you think you have a statutory right to a refund because your melon isn't of exactly the right level of ripeness, for example?

Unless the store is refusing to refund you for items which are unfit for consumption, as opposed to being under ripe, over ripe or a bit tasteless, then they are not denying you your consumer rights. It's extremely common for stores to remove goodwill refunds if they feel that their policy is being abused.

Common sense says that you should have changed to buying from another supermarket chain years ago if you find your current store's offerings to be of such poor quality that you have to return items on a regular basis.
  • If they keep selling such rubbish a)why do you keep going there & b)why you still buying the same 'rubbish'?

Yet you keep shopping there and keep their shareholders happy. Unless you're talking about Aldi.

.Given your account of what you've been doing, I think their actions to date are wholly justified (and entirely legal).

I think youre missing the point here. A person who abuses the policy by returning items if theyve changed their mind by claiming its faulty is indistinguishable from a person who is genuinely dissatisfied and within their rights.
Its not my fault I cant prove it. I'm being framed and treated as if im a criminal. Assuming my account of events is true, what have I done wrong that justifies a ban or other punishment?

Because I buy other things there. And its not rubbish quality all the time, only sometimes. When did I say its rubbish everytime?

You've clearly returned far too much in their eyes and are recognisable for doing so. Shop elsewhere if you're disappointed in the quality so often.

They're fed up with you. Simple as that.
