Its just a policy that they offer and if they choose NOT to offer it they can.
In your case they are choosing NOT to offer you same policy as everyone else.

if this is a forum to oppose consumers rights then I've obviously come to the wrong forum and that explains why nobody is agreeing with me. Sorry for making that mistake.

Ive seen perfectly ripe avocados being sold. There are similar claims on other fruit about it being perfectly ripe.

    https://www.waitrose.com/ecom/products/waitrose-1-perfectly-ripe-papaya/097765-49885-49886

heres one example. But read the second review and you quickly understand that its far from perfect

Yes - I agree , in THIS CASE - it is being sold as perfectly ripe , and if it is anything except perfectly ripe then the hardcore shopper would feel obliged to return it as many times as it was sold anything other than 'perfectly ripe'

I suspect that you have extended this theory to all fruit and veg though and not only the stuff actually sold as 'perfectly ripe'

One point however, is that your definition of perfectly ripe might differ from someone elses - so I suspect that is impossible to actually enforce

You consumer rights have been explained to you several times.

The reason nobody is agreeing with you is because you are wrong in what you think you are entitled to.

Seems like Asda should be your next port of call.

You can eat the food, just take the packaging back and will receive a refund and a replacement! Sounds right up your street!

It's a forum mainly for giving advice about consumer rights - you've been provided with consistent advice from many parties here.

If you just wanted to have a rant then you should probably go here instead.

It's worth noting that shops aren't required by law to have a returns policy, but if they do have one they must stick to it.

But not if they believe a customer is abusing that policy.

Just MOVE ON. No-one is agreeing with your point of view and as has been explained many times, a supermarket (or any other retailer) has no obligation to serve you however unfair this may be (but in your case it seems more than fair)

So you are saying that every person that tries to return items frequently is abusing the policy. Is there any way to avoid being accused of abusing the policy if you buy things frequently which arent satisfactory (regardless of the definition of satisfactory)?

I think that what people are saying is that if you repeatedly buy the same product (or products) from an outlet and you are repeatedly dissatisfied with them so much that you need to return them, then go elsewhere. Vote with your feet.

Why would anyone keep doing the same thing with the same result?
