  • Our cat Boris always starts the night downstairs then migrates to the bedroom floor by morning, our second cat Fred is stubborn at bed times and decides to sleep in the most comfortable places for him, usually my DH head or my legs pinning me down so I can't move..

Impossible to keep him out though he sits and scratches at the door for hours otherwise.

Just played that youtube video through my speakers and Boris has just gone crazy running round the house trying to find the "intruder", :rotfl:

  • If im not working the next day i let my cat sleep on the bed but if im working he goes in the kitchen, he wakes up at 3 or 4 in the morning and starts playing and batting things which drives me mad
  • My kitten likes my boyfriend's sock drawer! She gets in there evey night and purrs away.

We bought her two beds - one for downstairs and one for upstairs but she prefers the sock drawer or behind the keyboard on the computer table!

I'm sure one of my cats thinks she's a dog:confused: She follows my DS2 around the house all the time. If he's in his bedroom, she's there snoozing on the bed. If he comes downstairs, she'll follow and snooze on the settee:D

Daisy, my other cat seems to be glued to the window ledge in the back room. Spends all her time snoozing on there:confused:

2 ferrets sleep in an open pet carrier in my bedroom, and 3 others sleep in a two storey hutch at night.
  • All the cats we have had over the years have slept downstairs, with the exception of my last little cat Scampi who I did spoil a bit and she sometimes slept on (not in) our bed.

My son's two cats sleep in his room and take it in turns to sleep on his bed, on his sofa or on his computer monitor.

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton
  • I'm also guilty of letting my dog sleep in the bed when we first got her. She's a rescue rottweiler and was very badly mistreated. For the first few nights at our house she would just stand and shake so we let her on the bed to snuggle and feel comfortable.

She was very underweight and small 3 years ago but is now a very big dog. She still likes to come and 'snuggle' but goes off to the spare room and sleeps in her 'own' double bed. The extra-large bed we bought from Ikea was well worth it! (She is the best dog ever!)

  • Nah, it's hell. She's curled up asleep on 'her' chair surrounded by her Xmas presents - she actually got more than me. She lives a very tough life!!

    Hello,

My two dogs sleep in our bedroom, Judy, our Jack Russell sleeps on the bed. Willa, our heinz57 sleeps on the floor, where she has a double quilt and snuggly blanket to sleep on.

Before we had Judy, we used to have Arthur, and he and Willa slept in the hall, with the duvets, but because Judy was a rescue dog and so small and thin we let her sleep in with us.

However, I used to have cats and one particular one, Dizzy, would only sleep on my chest, until she had kittens, then she slept under the bed with them.

So pretty much soft on the animals then!
