where do you pets sleep at night?

Our cats can choose as we don't have a door on our attic bedroom. They quite often walk up to bed with us (which we like because we know they are safe inside the house). Then they may stay on the bed but often as not, they jump onto a chair in the room, or onto the soft baskets under the bed instead of sleeping with us. If it's cold we wake up to find they've joined us. If I go up to bed early to read, when OH stays away, I find all indoor cats join me, then disappear to different places in the night. One boy cat loves to sleep on the sofa - so much he looks really aggrieved if 2 of us want to sit on it to watch tv!0

My dog normally sleeps in the cats bed at the bottom of the stairs  . I know if he wants to come up and sleep in the bedroom as he sits at the bottom of the stairs and cries, this is normally if he is unwell or family are staying over, but it is rare he does this. I would let him sleep on the bed everynight, only thing is he kicks and snores worse than my boyfriend and i get no sleep at all!!
My cat used to sleep on my bed but he got into the habit of hitting me around the face at 5am to get up so he is now kept downstairs at night :rotfl:Virgin CC=£2652, Next= [STRIKE]£102.88,[/STRIKE] Very=£475.60, Natwest=£800, Sainsburys CC=£1777.02, Lloyds CC=£498.29, Lloyds Loan= £13,946.18, Car=£4000Total = [STRIKE]£26,147.23[/STRIKE] £23,849.09:eek:0 -
Our first cat Charlie, used to sleep with us, usually under the duvet, often curled up in the crook of your knees.
I was once awoken to the unforgettable words from my husband of...."Charlie, get your head off my balls".....
Our current cat, Aston sleeps on the bed, but doesn't get too close, he won't snuggle up or walk on you....but he does bring birds in during the night.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
Unfortunatley the kittens are more likely to train you!
Our two (late) cats both slept on the bed but Willow was naughty and would growl at you in the night if you moved your legs! So we had to ban them both. After that they used to cuddle each other on a cat quilt on the landing, but more recently Seanie to sleeping right outside the bedroom doors at the top of the stairs, many a time I went to the loo and nearly launched him down the stairs!
Minty the dog sleeps in her own bed in the dining room, never had any problems with that - she knows she not allowed upstairs. We used to have a German Sheppard that we let sleep on the bed, but she was a pain - ok when she was a cute little puppy but not as she grew!
We don't have a problem with the goldfish!!!

Dogs used to sleep in my parents room against the bed. But when we got the kitten they moved to my brothers room (as our male slept there most nights anyway). But they decided that my brothers bed was nicer than the sofa and so it didnt really work (2 springers + 1 human on a single bed = Human getting kicked out of bed...)
So the dogs now sleep in the kitchen / dining room / conservatory / living room. Normally in the living room as the log burner is dying down at this point.
The cat sleeps in parents room normally under the bed (they have one of those beds that lifts up for my mums back), but then decided at 3am that she wants to come out and cant as my mum has put the bed back down flat. Or shell sleep under the quilt and decide to play with my parents feet at 3am. Always funny!Green and White Barmy Army!0 -
Our dog sleeps downstairs in her bed. I have never allowed her to come upstairs.0

My dog sleeps wherever he fancies!
He has 3 sofas, 3 dog beds and 3 human beds to choose from
Now it's colder at night he has taken a fancy to sleeping in the middle of me and my husband. Drives me mad as the dog and hubby snore like crazy..... My second favorite household chore is ironing. My first being, hitting my head on the top bunk bed until I faint.-Erma Bombeck-~ Member of the MSE Celebdaq Minileague ~0 -

I think if you are letting animals into your life/home then generally be prepared for the same kind of concessions as if you are letting a stranger in, albeit a hairier. less capable one. Your kitten will no doubt choose where they want to sleep but they will make up for it with cuteness and hugs."As a cure for worrying, work is better than whiskey"0 -
well, this is the funny thing, we've 4 cats now btw.
First 2 took to sleeping in out bedroom, one on the leather PC chair, one in a baseball cap on the cupboard, OK, then one took to sleeping on aunts bed (she's not a big cat fan, but cats love her), the other soon followed. We got our thirs who followed the other 2. Our newest sometimes sleeps on the sofa, sometimes on the bed with the other 3, she doesn't mind, but we're trying to get them to sleep on the floor in our room (especially newest, she was for me getting over the loss of 2 dogs and another cat!)~*Cerenia*~

wherever he likes except sofa, generally in bed with DS or next to my head on pillow, short of shutting doors there is no way to stop him, he will just scratch at the door till you let him in,0
