Is this replacing the Visa Debit Card?0

Yeah was announced last year with role out to start 2nd quarter of 2019 - can’t see anything in their website0

Is this replacing the Visa Debit Card?
Yes. Santander are switching their debit cards from Visa to Mastercard.

The change is suppose to happen from July 2019.
My Santander debt card expires in September 2019, so I guess I'll receive a Mastercard replacement during the next few weeks.0 -
Isn’t Q2 finished now (April to June)?0

I've only recently had a new Visa card with them (doesn't expire until 2022). Does that mean my card won't be replaced with a Mastercard until it has expired?
Edit: Found an old article:

It was originally supposed to happen from Q1. The old article (if it is accurate) says that cards will be replaced when they expire.
Not that I use my Santander debit card much. Had a letter from them end of last year basically saying I must use the old card at least once or they won't send me a new one.

I recall reading somewhere that the roll out of the MasterCard debit cards has been pushed back for unspecified reasons. My debit card expired a couple of weeks ago and has been replaced by another Visa debit card, valid until early 2021.0

New card arrived this morning. It's Visa.
Valid from: 08/19
Expires end: 04/21
Valid for 21 months.
My previous Santander card was valid for 4 years.
My guess is that Santander's move to Mastercard has been delayed; and their current agreement with Visa ends after April 2021, therefore they can't issue cards that are valid beyond that date.0 -

It looks the the debit MasterCard has finally arrived. Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own1 -
The FAQ says you won’t be able to freeze your card unless it’s a MasterCard one.
