Look after yourself Karma. If it's any consolation after mine and DS3's accident (a police car smashed his pram to pieces with him in it) it would take me several days to move the pile of washing from the bottom of the stairs across the kitchen to the machine. When I called the boys to get ready for their bath in the evening they would drop the clothes at the bottom of the stairs as they passed or threw them downstairs if the were upstairs. When they were all bathed and in bed (ah the days when all 3 would fit in one bath) I would gather up the clothes and wash them. With PTSD all bets are off.
I have had a busy spendy day. Went to mum's early (10.30 am). Put one large and two small bags of rubbish in her bin - the large one was stuff from the garden, a mixture of crisp packets and things that have blown in from the car park and baskets that have been used for plants after they were no longer fit as baskets (now completely disintegrating - bottom fell out of one when I was using it for collecting weeds).
Also took the stones that used to be in the old fireplace (white and twinkly). Mum recently acquired 2 fake trees to put either side of the patio doors but they kept getting blown over. She wanted me to drill holes in the wall and then tie them upright with garden wire. My alternative was to use 2 of the painted chimney pots (she has two which are only about a foot tall), put the plant pot inside and then top up with white stones to anchor them firmly.
Mum saw the stones and decide I should use the rubbishy old stones and my white ones could go round the plant in the front of the house. Mr and Mrs Builder came and started putting up the extra cupboard mum wanted in the kitchen. She wanted some pipes in the bathroom boxed in but forgot to mention this yesterday so it will have to wait as Mr Builder can look through one of his sheds for some trim - we have pieces to make the box but it needs the trim edging between the two pieces.
I tried phoning to get mum's new cheque book sent. Usual rigmarole with them asking a question, mum giving me the phone so I can listen to the question and telling her what they want, then finding the info and pointing to the correct numbers one at a time. The old address was still on the account so had to change that but it will only go through overnight so have to call back tomorrow to request the cheque book. They had realised that post was being returned and had put a 'stop' on the account.
Mrs Builder and I moved several large pots across the yard and whilst Mrs Builder moved them around to mum's instructions, Mr Builder and I moved the gravel away from the front garden plant, he carried the large rocks through from the back of the shed (all previously washed / painted by me) and put them in a circle, filled it with soil and moved the gravel back towards the plant to fill any gaps. I cooked for mum and did the rubbish bins. Mr and Mrs Builder chopped back the hebes. Mum cut and peeled carrots from the fridge to make soup, told me to take the nearly whole red pepper and I cut the celery in two (sticks for me, in the soup for mum) and threw out the deliquescent watermelon remains.
Have brought sacks from the shed to plant spuds (the last baked potato from the bag had sprouted), ones planted earlier in the year were dug up.
I had booked a taxi to take me to my appointment. Repeated the tests I did 6 months ago (sit to stand with arms crossed over my chest, timed walk of a few paces and stepping up and stepping down for two minutes). Did the whole two minutes although was rather breathless (had to stop after 38 seconds last time). Improved in all areas, just not losing any weight yet. Have some goals to work on and another appointment in 4 weeks.
Went upstairs to hand in a repeat prescription and made mum an appointment for next week - want to see if anything can be done about her warts and her upper arm has gone bruise yellow and there is a small lump within it. This is from when she fell off a stool - she made me promise not to shout about 4 times before she admitted to doing it.
Decided against getting an all day ticket, just paid to back to the town centre. Dropped my bag and half my stuff came out. One of the other passengers complained that the bus was joggy and the driver said he was having problems with the gears.
Dropped my bag off at home and went to collect the replacement cable for my old laptop. After a short rest I went out to buy two more large screw in hooks. Mum has decided I can hang the garden chairs on the outside of the shed and as Mr Builder had his drill handy he put the screw holes in.
Passed the zero waste shop on the way so went in for orzo pasta, a shampoo bar and some dishwasher tablets (only 2 left). Noticed they had bee bombs which I've added to my 'C' list along with getting a proper razor again - I hunted everywhere for one when me old one disappeared.
So lots of stuff ticked off my list (returned a library book and took the battery from mum's clock to recycling) but will have to spend more time at mum's tomorrow. I have been through her fridge and freezer to check what she has and what needed using up.
I need to put my bins out but otherwise not planning on moving off the bed - been up here an hour and I am just starting to feel human again.
Today I am grateful for a very productive day, for a lovely encouraging appointment and for the weather ( sunny but with a cooling breeze after a difficult start). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

Called into a CS this afternoon and bought a lovely dress from East which will be perfect for work - blues, greens and browns - autumn colours.
DD1 & I had a last minute dash to a nearby seaside town this evening for ice cream - caramel with Daim bar smashed into it - I've had 2 of those this week alreadyThis evening we played Swingball to work off the ice cream.

Hello
Well I have had a very spendy and non mse couple of days. But I have gotten lots done. The summer hols shopping list is done and we all have our new bits for school in September apart from 1 winter coat, 1 apron and a pack of polo shirts - and I need to get a blazer dry cleaned. Other than that we're all done. It's a relief, and all within budget - phew. And I even got my kids birthday presents sorted and paid for (both next month).
Yesterday I went out with my sister to the venue I'm having my divorce party at - that was fantastic. We had afternoon tea then started inventing cocktails for the evening :rotfl: I'm looking forward to it but really worried that nobody is going to turn up.
Anyway, it's been a long couple of days and I'm really tired but I wanted a quick hello and check in, and to wish all the turtles lots of love...Not giving up

Hi all:j
Another day with dreaded shopping monster, lovely meal out though & then dropped her at the airport. Just heard that they are back home after DH collected her from the airport, she is up at 5.30 am for work:eek:
Very quiet here & the computer is mysteriously now fast....lets see what the modem consumption is like now it's just me..
Bought some cat food for the hungry cat, didn't watch after I put it out though. Food has gone, but not eaten by the cat...as saucer was not licked clean ...lots of wildlife here. Now the saucer is clean, so maybe he came afterwards. Will have to keep an eye out when I do it again.
Not done much other than driving today, supper was YS stirfry combined with some YS chicken. Have enough food to last me till friend arrives at the weekend.
Did a little knitting in front of the TV, will aim to get the more complex stuff out tomorrow.
Jobs to do here but some are weather dependent, otherwise it will be inside stuff. Also hope to snag a few NSDs before the weekend.
Planning some adventures whilst friend is here, she has indicated a couple of places she wants to go.
hugs for those in need

Karmacat - hope you feel better soon.
Deni - your holiday sounds fun.
CCL - my kids school blazers say Dry Clean but I've always washed them on a 30 wash and then hung them on a hanger to dry, they have always come out just fine.
Was DH's birthday yesterday, we don't really do presents but the kids bought him some of his favourite snacky foods and I got him 4 bottles of craft beers and a cake.
Small spend yesterday, went for a walk with the dog and the kids and then bought them an ice cream at a farm shop in the village we were in, they makes their own from their own milk. I didn't have one but did buy a very lovely shirt in a CS for £1.80 - 20p less than an ice cream and zero calories.
Bit damp today and forecast says rain. Obviously tomorrow when I go back to work is forecast as sunny and 18 degrees all day - every blooming Thursday this happens.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Must try harder with catching up with the thread and interacting with other users lol :rotfl:
Finally got to give some clothes to charity, I got a few new bits yesterday and have decided to do "one in, one out" and we also got a charity bag through the letterbox to be out by this morning, so filled that up this morning and popped it out ready to be picked up.
Must try harder on NSD's, yesterday I needed some new work trousers as mine had gone horrendously bobbly, don't think I need to get much for the rest of the week after today, though, if anything.
Been listening to an audiobook all about forming good habits and breaking bad ones, very informative and thought-provoking0 -
Morning all  :coffee:
Thanks for the advice on the blazer dolly - not sure I'm brave enough to try it but I might... I'll see how much a dry clean will cost and weigh up the risks I think.
I'm tired today - feel very worn out (obviously after yesterday's 10 hour expedition) and I have a bit of a sore throat. Thankfully all of today's plans revolve around staying in and not even getting dressed if I don't feel like it (unless I can motivate myself to go out for a walk later which is incredibly unlikely :rotfl:)
I need to do the usual housework stuff - dishes, washing, rubbish and recycling, hoover. Don't think I'll get anything dried outside today though.
Continue my decluttering of the house
Attempt some meal planning of sorts
Desperately try and complete this crochet blanket (8 rounds to go but it is a king sized blanket so each round takes while)
