Apple and Toni - They were a lovely family. There was a celebration in the park for Eid and they were going home. Had a nice time.
    Grateful for:
    NSD.
Did 3 laps of my usual route in the park.
Started reading a new book as I finished the book I started to read on Saturday.
Sorted out a few tiny things in the flat.
    Afternoon nap.

Today I am grateful for a swim with dd, for a warm and dry place to return to after getting drenched in the rain, for some extra work arriving, for dh taking dd to the library, for good books to read, for my workout, for stewed apple + rasps.

    Hi all:j

Well adventure today was having my eyebrows done, first time ever for me. DD is the eyebrow expert but balked at the sight of mine. Ah well this was a professional person so I am hoping - eventually - to have proper eyebrows, not a sluggy kind of forest, thankfully my fringe hides most of the carnage..

Pleasant day out although quite tiring, weather was sunny with just a few heavy showers, which we managed to dodge luckily

Not an NSD today due to brows & a bit of shopping, nor tomorrow.

Got back here only to see a small black cat arrive near the back door ( I am missing my animals, can you tell). As I opened the door it shot off, but not before I saw how thin it was. I then put some food out for it - fish - and it came back & ate that. It was only a small amount so I put a bit more out, which it also ate...it is very nervous so will not be able to get near it.

Up early tomorrow for yet another trip out, then the trip to the airport. I will be glad of the rest for a day or two before I start the airport shuttle again.

Can't buy a railcard online (3 year is only available online) unless i have a photo to upload. No tickets available for the train I wanted (that's no tickets after they've filled it with strap hangers and people sitting on bags in the space between carriages presumably). I can do both at the station on the day (will explore more options to see which trains might have space).

Phoned for the taxi at eight because C4 are running a rescue animal centre thing all week

In the time before the taxi came i already wanted 3 dogs/puppies, 1 kitten, a flock of chickens, a goat and a pony.

Once more I was disappointed to find the little forest animals had not visited to clean the house - some work had been done on the kitchen (I was so tired on Sunday that the table legs were left where they 'fell' - thought if they hadn't the nous to move them, they deserved to trip over them). Legs were stacked on 2 kitchen chairs and more of the floor had been swept.

Slept early. Now already showered and fed. Want to go to mum's early as I have an appointment mid-afternoon - mum said I did not need to go at all. Mr and Mrs Builder are coming to put up a cupboard and may do some of the little jobs which neither of us can do (or only in such small bits that it takes forever)

Currently trying to write the comprehensive list of all the things I want to get done in the next couple of days. Not the kitchen which is such an obvious job that it smacks you in the face when you take a peek but things like collecting my replacement cable and checking both my and mum's fridges to use anything perishable and see what else mum might need.

Bought 4 more cans of soup, a pack of cooked meat and 2 ys chicken in black bean sauce for her yesterday. If I can get her through next week I can leave the big stock up until we return from holiday. I can do the order some time next week rather than squeezing it onto this week's list. It also leaves everywhere clear for the cleaner.

    Have a good day everyone.

Had the dentist yesterday so had to pay for a check up, I am with a private dentist so it was £30 and I need two pretty big fillings which are £105 each:eek:. When I used to go to the NHS dentist they found something to do every 6 months and made a horrible bodged job of it all, I have been with this dentist for about 10 years and this is only the second thing I've had done so probably cheaper in the long run.

Am taking the kids out for a bit of a walk and have bribed them with a fancy ice cream at the farm shop. Have got my dining room curtains in the washing machine to hopefully line dry and iron later.

  • Morning all from sunny East Anglia :)
Had a lovely day yesterday - dropped DD2 + boyfriend at the station then DD1 and I had a walk and stopped at a lovely caf! for a drink and snack - I paid £4.50 for scone, cream & jam & pot of tea which I thought was reasonable. Having some treats this week as it's our 'holiday'.
Phoned my dad in the afternoon to ask if he knew how to operate my sis' washing machine and we got invited for tea!
today is a lovely sunny day so going for a walk with parents. I found out how to operate the washing machine and have washing drying on the line.
Realised that exactly one year ago DD2 had an operation :(
Grateful for the past year where DD2's physical and mental health has got much better and grateful for the NHS everyday.
Hope everyone has a good day with minimum stress & hugs to those that need them

Realised I hadn't subscribed to the thread :o and that kind of sums up how the month has been: ploughing merrily on, and digging a socking great hole for myself. Been sitting at the bottom of the hole since Thursday (i.e. my chronic fatigue is back with a vengeance) the kind of time where it takes all the energy I've got to load the dishwasher. Starting to recover a bit now, but I've had to cancel things and not speak with people and not do gardening work, it's so disappointing. Hope to be back on track by the end of the week, but I don't know if I'll manage my weekend afternoon out I've got planned.

    Still on NSD No 9

Hairdresser today. Colour and cut but as I'm trying to grow my hair a bit it was only the slightest trim so I was only charged for the colouring. That was a nice surprise. I'll put what I would normally have spent right into savings before I fritter it away.

Also bought some chillies and lemons as I am attempting to make piri piri chicken for dinner tomorrow. That will be an adventure. I've never made it before so fingers crossed. That's the first of my new recipes. Marinading in the fridge as we speak.

Just had a look at the seeds that I planted but didn't think they would take as were so old. I've got parsley growing!!!

Karmcat - Hope your health improves.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.
