    Hi all:j

Many thanks for the good wishes for my hols, I am now on my own here - but only till tomorrow when I go to pick up DD, so only temporary silence!

Have no more NSDs to report as spent every day, however the fridge is groaning with YS items from a raid on Mns. Including 6 avocados for 29c... I have hopes of an NSD tomorrow though, I only have to pick up DD from the airport so no spends hopefully

Journey here was thankfully uneventful & just about recovered from it..

Have not eaten well though, just bits & pieces, not healthy probably because nobody here to cook for. However, tomorrow will be better, I have resolved!

Have been in the garden here (in between the torrential rain showers) and also planted some flowers, there are at least 2 species that the rabbits apparently don't eat.

Checking in as often as I can : Hello Turtles!

Abingdon, about 8 miles from Oxford, but no train station. It's been a while since I travelled (meetings, conferences etc) but I'm sure the London train used to go Wigan (every other train calling at Newton which is only about 4 miles up the road), Warrington, Crewe, Birmingham New Street, Didcot Parkway, Oxford, Reading (have spent lots of time in Oxford station without ever getting off the train - stuck on a side line waiting for a different train to go through).

There is always a better simpler way (they had the trains going all over everywhere) but I hadn't the patience to go through any more options tonight. One option had me going to Manchester on the new V1 (excellent bus) but then getting off to walk to a tram to go a couple of stops to get to Piccadilly Station (there is a little free bus that travels between the stations - well there are 3 that cover a lot of Manchester city centre locations).

I will figure it out but I would like to stick to stations I'm familiar with where possible, I'll have enough roaming about when i reach the bits I don't know at all. Abingdon doesn't look very big and the place I'm staying is convenient for the church. Going the night before seems like a really good idea, I'm too old for the 4am taxi to Wigan station to catch the early train.

    Morning all,

Yesterday was a surprise SFD so up to 4. Walked the dogs and drove to visit a friend in Birmingham. She paid for lunch and we had a lovely catch up and walk. Started to drive home and ended up stuck at a standstill on the motorway for 2 hours due to an accident. Also had an unpleasant reaction to something I’d ate whilst stuck so it was a good job we were stationary and I had time to recover before driving home. Now just shattered and feel a bit worse for wear.

    Hi folks

Managed to bag a 3 no spend hatrick over the night shifts and there's a chance I'll break the run of it today if l pop into town for a cuppa and a read of my Salt Path book in the coffee shop. If this is the case, I may as well do a small shop and pick up birthday cards while I'm at it.

Didn't make it to this morning's park run due to a marathon 12 hour catch up sleep. May go for a trot around the pond later.

Fmess hope you're better this afternoon and have managed to figure out what caused the reaction..

    Hugs to all

It's been a bit of a quiet day. We were expecting heavy rain but it's been sunny all day. Still I suppose there's still time.

Sorted out some more books and found a pile of history magazines that Himself has stashed away. I can't believe that anyone would want them now so they'll have to go to recycling. Just not sure how I going to manage it without Himself finding out.

I think all my cookery books are all together now in a big wicker hamper. They are much easier to access now. Had an interesting time looking through them looking for some new recipes. Got a few ideas that I'm looking forward to trying out

Hope everyone is having a relaxing weekend..

Have been out walking in the Peak District with DH, it was windy and raining but it is better than staying in imo. Have had a small spend in Aldi and some charity shop purchases but we did take our own lunch and a flask of coffee.
