Grateful for:
NSD.
Making good progress in reading my book. Really enjoying it.
Walked one of my laps around the park and my usual route around a bungalow estate.
Being invited around for a bite to eat by a family I met in park and they were celebrating EID.Frugal Living Challenge 2025 Mortgage free as of 1st August 20130 -
Kerry woman - how lovely of that family!
Dolly - defo not your fault!
Mothernerd - hope ds2's pre-run arrangements all went to plan and that you managed to keep the peace...
Today I am grateful for sleeping in my own bed (after a week away it was bliss!), for catching up with a friend, for discovering that dd isn't allergic to bee stings (3 guesses as to how we know...), for neighbours who take in parcels, for athletics and rugby on the tv, for my needlefelting, for a breezy day to mostly dry the washing, for fresh bed linen, for the sound of the wind in the trees.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Hello :hello:
As is often the case once I actually stop, I do a lot of reflecting (and self criticism). Stuff is going ok mostly, but I'm just not feeling it at the moment. I wish more than anything that this divorce business was sorted once and for all as I feel that it's dragging me down a bit, and I don't feel like the law is much on my side.
I have bagged a couple of nsd's - which are few and far between in August, and things are pretty much going according to plan at the moment. Uniform buying has started *so far so good* and all our travels are done, so there are 3 weeks left to get that finished - plenty of time.
Today I've managed a load of washing (no outdoor drying though as it's been raining for 24 hours now) and the daily decluttering as well as a lot of thinking, and a bit of crochet. I went out for lunch with my mam and stepdad, which was lovely - and although I was expecting to pay - they paid for me and the kids as well which was very kind of them.
Other than that, just relaxing really. As I like it.Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Evening all, had a lovely day visiting my 3rd sister who has physical and mental health issues and lives in a care home - she's about 30 years younger than the average age of resident! We took the bus into town and had coffee and cake (her treat) and we did some shopping (her not me). DDs and boyfriend went to visit their dad's parents. All came back to our holiday home and cooked risotto and had lovely eve together.
Grateful for family time and sunshine

Had logged off but remembered I hadn't checked in.
DS2 beat his personal best and took a few minutes less than he thought he would. Went through the mouse saga (he thinks we could have shy mice that run away - mice are usually fairly cheeky) but agreed that I seem to be getting on top of things. He will come round to help when I ask for help with specific projects.
Morning was gentle pottering - clothes hung up, rubbish taken out (doing more walking as I kept having a meander up and down the yard with small amounts of rubbish and recycling, some washing redone as it was outside when it poured down and some was dragged onto the ground, clean bathmats put out. Cooking was limited to boiling some eggs. Beloved cooked a curry for tea and there was some left for me (mostly potatoes - there's enough sauce left to feed everyone tomorrow but more veg and either beans or meat will be needed).
This afternoon I've collected all the bags for life, then all the carrier bags, cleared the kitchen table and scrubbed it. I have put together the second 2 x 2 cube shelves (had some help from DS3 and guest). Asked DS3 to turn the table upside down. I've been to the cash machine for mum and had to stop multiple times on the way back. Absolutely exhausted but managed to take the table legs off after dealing with the usual Allen key problem - sets with large ones and tiny ones but all the best most useful sizes missing.
It took so much effort that Beloved came downstairs to see if I was ok. Still need to sort the remaining stuff that was under the table, odd bits (wellies, small bowl that should be on the windowsill to collect dead batteries for recycling, secateurs - 3rd pair found today) to pick up and the rest to sweep into a bin. Cannot do any more tonight - guest said that I had certainly earned a rest.
Have had another shower and am back on the bed. Hopefully I don't have too much to do tomorrow - just keep rolling with the rail card application (need to tidy more of my room) and maybe decide on tickets. Resisted buying crisp but have had a late supper of salami and pasta salad - it will be breakfast as well. A NSD hooray.
Today I am grateful for getting things done, for visible progress on the kitchen and for good food made by someone else.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Hi all:j
As predicted not an NSD today, DD soon saw to that. To be fair, I was always going to treat us to lunch out, but supper of stirfry was made at home by me, with nearly all YS ingredients.
Fair day here despite predicted rain (forecast is to rain every single day for the next 2 weeks) but this evening was lovely with sun & a breeze ( always is - as up on a hill). Went outside to do a bit of pottering as DD laying full stretch on the sofa constantly scrolling through her phone...
Text from DH to say huge amounts of data used since he left (day before yesterday). As if yootoob or the like is being used...DD denies all knowledge...:rotfl:
I've got the OK to use the internet tonight, it will be interesting to see if the usage drops dramatically once she leaves (day after tomorrow). We are off out again tomorrow, and Tuesday as well - until I take her to the airport in the evening. Then a few days of peace....then my friend arrives. Adventures will then be more visiting places, not retail emporia.

Horrible wet weekend, with 2 kids Saturday we did go out to the park but got drenched. There am I drying slide in the rain with a towel I brought along thinking I must be mad. We survived, made cakes, board games. I really need some new ones well old type ones, new ones are rubbish - Cheaters monopoly - drove me mad. Hunt around charity shops this week as next weekend looks no better weather wise.:(
Nearly went out last night to a gig but lacking in confidence. Some days you just feel rubbish and look worse. So snuggled down with Poldark for the evening. Going to get my hair cut this week might get the old me back:)
Made some credit card payments today gives me nice rather large figure still of 3K to clear by xmas:eek:. Not really been focused last 2 months but now it's starting to feel autumnal I will make more effort.:D

Today's going to be a slow day. Failed at making a simple phone call (phone wouldn't give me the page I wanted and I couldn't remember how to find it), struggled to lift two bowls and am still semi recumbent because even holding my head up hurts my neck. Have had a shower for the pure pleasure of playing jets of water over my neck and shoulder muscles.
Have used antiseptic, ibruprofen and factor fifty creams on various parts of my body. Working my way through a mountain of clean washing I have brought up (+ sheets and pillowcases that were in the wardrobe) but can only stand up long enough to put one pillowcase on at a time. Doing small movements (ankle circles, shoulder shrugs, very slow careful neck rolls) all aimed at getting things moving.
I know this is the price I have to pay for the work I did yesterday but trying not to panic about things that need doing. Have put away one quilt cover and pillowcase in one of the bags the pillows came in and slid it under the about what I have done.bed. Pots, rubbish and paper recycling collected as I make my way through the things that are still on the bed. keeping my positive head on and thinking .
Our weather is undecided. Grey earlier then went hot and sunny and now we're back to grey. Yesterday cleared up and the sun came out as soon as all the runners had gone home. Only the stack of crush barriers waiting to be collected.
Today I am grateful for lovely breakfast (the rest of the pasta and salami then remembered I meant to put some of the salami into crustless quiches) and my bed, which always looks after me.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Calling - good luck with the board-game hunting. We got an old-style, never used monopoly for £1! But we had to ask if they had any, so keep persevering...

Productive day. Bit of cleaning, bit of clearing bit of cooking. Plodding on.
Mothernerd - Hope you,re OK. Don't do too much all at once.
Kerry Woman - That was really lovely of that family
Calling and Apple - I haven't played a board game since the two teenagers next door were tiny. When I was little my Grandparents had a six sided ludo set which we used to play every Sunday night. Himself said he'd never heard of a six sided board and to be honest I think he thought I'd made it up. We were in Salzburg at the beginning of this year and I came across one in a shop that specialised in wooden toys. I would have loved to have bought it but we just didn't have the space or weight allowance to bring it back.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0
