Hello
I have returned from a spendy couple of days in London with the kids. It was amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed it, apart from the 2 and a bit hour visit to a giant Primarni at Tottenham Court Road - dd really loved it there. However, I am all for making memories with my kids while they are still happy to share my company. We had dinner at Planet Hollywood and saw Wicked, which I am pleased to report that the kids loved (it was my idea and neither of the kids seemed bothered until we were actually there) and our hotel room had 2 separate sleeping areas so I could successfully keep the kids apart as well :j
It was kind of what I needed after an unpleasant week or so - however I'm 3 weeks into the hols and feeling nowhere near rested at all.Still, I will just keep plodding as I always do and one day I will feel ok.

Still on NSD No 6
I didn't reach for the gin bottle last night but it was a struggle. I'm working on a letter objecting to the proposal and an email to our local councillors asking for their support. Not all that confident that although everyone is complaining many others will do the same.
Weather today was dreadful but we managed to get to Aldi and get the shopping done in the one break in the torrential lane. Hopefully we won't need anything at least foodwise until next Friday. If I can manage I will have a bit of the household budget left over again.
Finished the book I was reading and started another. Himself doing very well with his as well. I had another look in the cupboard and sorted out some books. The Boy left some bookcases when he moved so I've been trying to orgaanise them by author. Some will have to go though no matter what Himself says. I could gift them to Charity Shops but I don't know how many people buy books these days. I know some CS won't accept hardbacks. Anyone got any suggestions? What I want to go is mostly fiction but I also have a huge amount of cookery books.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -

I have a friend whose Mother visits from Lithuania and the first thing she does is make for our branch of the above, My friend says she would spend her whole holiday in there is they allowed her.
Glad you enjoyed your trip. Would you believe I've never been to London?Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
Tono'sfriend - your best bet for books might be Oxfam, as they have a reputation for books, so may take boks others would reject. I'm going to try some of dh's sci-fi books there.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Thanks, Apple, Unfortunately OXFAM is about the only charity shop we don't have locally. There are lots of others though so maybe I'll just go in and ask if they would like some and what kind they prefer.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0

Today I am grateful for a lazy morning, for a swim with dd, for not getting caught in the rain showers, for finishing my book, for my needlefelting, for a trip out for coffee and cake just confirming that it all sits heavy in my tum and I don't really enjoy it, for finding a free art gallery and spending a happy 30 mins there.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Not done much the past two days. Yesterday I was stiff - nearly fell over my own leg at one point, they got crossed and couldn't work out which way to move to get out of it. Did not risk going downstairs until mid afternoon. Luckily had lots of drinks and bits to eat (a sandwich, some celery and pieces of fruit) in various bags.
Better today but still tired and creaky.
Cousin messaged me the details of my aunt's funeral - next Friday. I have spent some time looking at routes and maps and have booked a one night stay on Thursday (mum suggested it and will pay half the cost). Going to look again at trains - I know the Wigan to London route (goes through Oxford) is often better than the Manchester to London route (7 changes?) but I also know that the Wigan train often goes through Newton-le-Willows which is near me and less of a hassle than Wigan town centre.
I also have to order a food delivery for here as Beloved wants to make a curry and 'we are out of meat' (guest doesn't like fish - we have loads of fish) and I can now organise a delivery for mum now I know which days I will be available.
Not sure if I will be able to get back for the showing of Peterloo or if I will still be standing by that point - just realised I need to take the suitcase to have room for the CPAP machine. Seem to have booked a room without a breakfast option but it is a family room (only one left at that location), £40 less than other nearby smaller rooms and it has a fridge so I can buy/ take salads or sandwiches as well as drinks and feed myself (buy option is because I don't know how much will be left after a 6 hour journey, however well I prepare.
Today i am grateful for not having to cancel next weeks appointment, for finally having some information about the funeral and for a relaxing day (wish I could uncrick my neck - tried moving it slowly in all directions). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0
