Hi all:j
Thanks for the holiday wishes apple!! Am aventurising here in Holyhead prior to our dash across the Irish sea
Taking advantage of the 30 mins free wifi in this travel lodge - certainly not paying for any more time..
Will be an early night as up very early last 2 days & had to cut the blasted grass before leaving as it was so long & wet but if I left it for 3 weeks it would be complete jungle...
Also planted out all my plants now, it's sink or swim for them till I get back
Not an NSD as had to get animals food in plus some shopping for DD..she has had a flood of enquiries for her spare room now. Her US guest should be arriving later tonight...
Next thrilling bulletin should be from the Emerald Isle...

A NSD for me (first this month). However I finally got the sleeping thing right. Had another 2 hours after taking my pills at 5.30 am. Have only been managing a core of 5 - 6 hours.
A more than averagely creaky day (knees, back, neck and shoulders predominantly). You know you're in trouble when the people drinking at the side of the library start asking if you are okay and giving you advice on looking after yourself.
One book returned and a small bag for the charity bin. It's only half full so that's something to aim for this week. Went to do a small shop for mum but had 3 heavy bags by the time I had gathered all the things I got for her last week and some food from my stores (bananas are overripe for me, just right for mum and took some things to make tuna and bean salad).
Unpacked slowly at mum's. Explained how much she owed me - 3 times. Mostly just a straight swap as I have been using twenty pound notes to buy things so that I get a ten pound note (as requested by mum) in my change. Went through the pile of birthday cards with her, then spent some time peeling all the price stickers off.
Phoned one of my cousins this afternoon to ask about the arrangements for my aunt's funeral. She didn't know anything either. We were asked not to phone uncle as he was very upset but then no one has been in touch to say what's happening. She has emailed one of my aunt's sons and will let me know as soon as she hears what is happening.
Have a list of things to do tomorrow or before I go to mum's. Came home about half an hour early as was still feeling fragile.
Today I am grateful for beautiful displays of flowers on the town hall square, for a quiet day with mum and for time to finish reading my book.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Yes Apple I’m always working lol. I think living on my own I easily spend lots of time on my own so filling it with work keeps me busy and helps the cash flow. You were on the Monsal trail so you must be in Derbyshire?
Ccl hugs it’s hard when you fall out with family, take care of yourself.
Spend day yesterday on petrol, another dog gate and a car wash. Not very MSE but without an outside tap and a car I can’t even reach most of the window screen of, let alone the roof, it’s a necessary evil every few months. Gym and dog walking done too

apple - I visit the Peak District very regularly, we camp there a lot but it is also close enough for day trips for us. We love the Monsal Trail, there is also The Tissington Trail. If you can get to Eyam that is well worth a visit and if you like a good day of walking the village of Hayfield is the starting point for some truly stunning walks (a tv series called The Village was filmed there). Just eating chips by the river in Bakewell is lovely though.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Thanks guys! We're in Buxton and just enjoying being away. I've found a place that does gf scones and cakes, so we may well potter over there this afternoon. (and dd and I are on a mini quest for white pipe cleaners) And a gf chippy too, so eating chips by the river may also happen!
I 'did' Eyam several times when I worked in Rotherham and we took the y9s away for a week. It'd no doubt be different without 30 kids in tow...
And we want to do a walk round Buxton - depending on what you read, it's either about 8 or 10 miles...
However, today is a low-key day...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Still on NSD No 4
Asthma check today so a walk to the Health Centre. Hopefully that's all the health and house checks done till next summer.
Himself took me for lunch to the local Italian restaurant. Lovely food and inexpensive especially since we've both given up drinking till we next go on holiday so no expensive bottles of wine involved. I must say that giving up alcohol is doing us both the world of good (especially Himself) and saving us a fair bit of cash as well. It was an unexpected treat so I think I'll count it as a little spontaneous adventure.
We went into Iceland on the way home a picked up 2 pizzas on special offer at 87p each reduced from £2.00 each. I like to keep pizza in the freezer and we only eat one between us so that's a cheap meal. No other spends today.
Washed and ironed the Boys bedding. That's all he's asking me to do now. Doing all the rest himself and his cooking is coming on leaps and bounds. It's really good to see him so settled and happy.
Tonight's plan - bed, proper tea and more of my book. Really powering through the books at the moment.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
No NSD for me today as picked up some bits for my upcoming holiday to Menorca, also traipsed halfway across town to visit a shop that sells goodies from the UK, all because I wanted a salad cream sandwich!! Too much time on my hands.
Tomorrow should be an nsd.
Well done tonis friend on no alcohol. I am endeavouring to do the same, I just want to have a clear head.Student loan £5655

Afternoon everyone, just catching up on news.
I've had drama at work as my boss went off in an ambulance yesterday! He's ok but still in hospital and having tests. Work is mega busy as my colleague is also off so covering 3 people's jobs for now...!
I'm still looking after my friend's cats and walked there yesterday as it was a lovely evening and it's good to get my sore back moving. I shall walk there later on this evening.
I managed a NSD yesterday - no 1
Been eating from stores; getting fed up of having no oven and really want pizza!
Both DDs away staying with their boyfriends so it's me and the cats at home at the moment!
Have been busy in the garden mowing the lawn, pulling up weeds and planting some tubs so it looks tidy for when we're away later this month.
Hugs to those in need

Hugs to those in need of them.
Grateful for:
Managed to deal with a few things in the flat, left them for a few months. Did not take too long to do.
Reasonable night's sleep.
Did 1 lap of my usual route around the park, then walked around some of a bungalow estate. So had a good walk.
Read quite a few stories in my book. Only 4 more short stories to read.

Thank you Kerry Woman !
Toni'sfriend - it's great to hear that the Boy is doing so well.
Today I am grateful for a lazy morning, for a meander in to town, for finding a few bits in the ch shops, for a yummy gf cream tea, for being successful in our quest for white pipe cleaners, for a walk to and from a local folly, for the torrential downpour only happening once we were down off the steep parts, for the fun of trying to walk briskly through a downpour with the water soaking through all our layers and the paths and gutters overflowing with streams of water, for having a warm and dry place to return to.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
