Still on NSD 0, however, the new car key is getting stuck less, the kettle and coffee maker are descaled, most of the house is clean and tidy.
Speky - have you explored the Hope Valley? Edale/ Castleton and Kinder Scout, all easily do-able on a day trip even by train - about 40 minutes, and Glossop too. Between you and mothernerd I am now missing Manchester. We loved camping in Edale, had a good long weekend camping in Clitheroe too. Plenty of places round and about, even the Police museum! Manchester is a great place for a staycation.
I've not managed any NSDs yet either. Not sure I will while DD2 is recovering from her op as she likes going for drives which usually include a drive through costa...
I second the Hope Valley and/or Clitheroe. Also Delph, Upper Mill, Ramsbottom (steam trains??) are all lovely. I don't live far from Manchester and am a big fan of the north westAlso media city is worth a visit.
I have been reading today, still reading Testament of Youth, very sad and moving. Getting lots of washing line dried. Hoping to make pilates tonight to stretch me out!
Off to unblock the sink now!!

Still on NSD no 2 Bought some plants from Aldi today. Porch needs brightening up as most of my plants died whilst I was away. Tried to resuscitate them but no luck. Very pretty purple/blue colour so I'm hoping they'll attract butterflies and bees. (I think they might be campanula). The money has come from household budget. Even with today's purchase I still have £30 left from the £40 that I had allocated for this week. It's amazing what you can do if you put your mind to using up what's in the cupboards and fridge as well as the freezer. I'm thinking of starting a little "garden fund" for buying plants. Just a couple of pounds a week.
Had a bit of a small walk today with Himself. Breakfast was fruit and lunch another toastie . Sausage and bean casserole for dinner is looking good. A chicken and lentil curry in the slow cooker for tomorrow. Used some more chicken thighs from the freezer, a pepper from the fridge and some insanely hot curry paste that Himself bought somewhere (who know where!). Apparently it smells really nice, Having it with some nan bread which is in the cupboard.
Doing fairly well with trying to look after my health and getting into a routine.
Have a nice night.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -

Deni - hope dd2 recovers nice and quickly. And that you managed to unblock the sink...
Today I am grateful for a good day at work, for getting tasks done, for a good chat with the Head, for achieving practically perfect parking, for dd moving up to do level 3 of the cycling proficiency (I assume this is an achievement?!?), for dh not having to go out tonight, for dd's taekwondo teacher being really touched with his gift (a white bunny with a black belt, and a bottle of wine).
I'll 'fess up now to a planned expenditure tomorrow : I plan to join the gym. I know, I know. I've worked out at home for about a decade, so why change? Well, I'm going swimming with dd when she has her lesson, so already spending ~£19 every 4 weeks. The swims + 2 more visits to the pool or gym per 4 weeks would leave me quids in. I have read the t+c and think that I can do the 'pay in advance' membership where you only give 1 month's notice, which would mean that I can do it over the summer, with dd, and then see how it goes in Sept... If you sign up for a year's membership, it costs the same as 10 months paying monthly. But I don't reckon I'll still be going in 12 months' time, so it'd waste a lot of money.

So in theory you could swim every morning/ afternoon with dd over the summer holidays? Is there a bolt on kids extra/ go free, option? If so, then it sounds like a fab idea for the holidays. No 'naughty sun-lounging' going on at all! Sounds like a bargain. :T
The school run is dragging now. Lots of after school/ term end stuff, so pick up is at 3 different times in 3 different places most days now. Today the afternoon school run managed to last three hours, door to door.

Hi all:j
A Adventure - Another day; another outing.
G Get creative in the kitchen. Created a quiche & new pots, will eat quiche cold with lunch tomorrow.
E Eat Beans Day is on the 3rd July. Duly eaten.
N NSDs Will go for low target as we are on holiday as well as DD this week & another week when she goes away later in the month. Today was another spend day so still 0/12 NSDs. This is set to continue for a week or so I think. Still on zero for NSDs
T Take care in the sun Only out early then later on in shops etc by which time it was cloudy.
L Live on what is left Will do.
E Exercise -Cut grass at back & lots of walking around today as well.
J July food days abound Fried Chicken (6th - try "Kissing' instead), French Fries (13th), Hot Dogs and Peach Ice Cream (17th - No not together), Caviar (18th) Daiquiris (19th). My favourites are Fresh Spinach Day (16th) Blueberry (8th) and Vanilla Ice Cream (23rd). Other Ice cream days are available. Use these as a jumping off point to add some summer fun to your meal plan. Will pick a couple of these.
O (H2)O Water fun. Dogs have made holes in their pool, not sure how to get them in otherwise as they are so large. May have an old plastic one somewhere lurking in the shrubbery. Still to locate. Only water is the amount drunk by me. Now have food diary so water can be logged.
G Geeks May struggle here.
T Think of those who are ill Both elderly uncles are now suffering from terminal illnesses. Do think of them often. Had email from elderly relative, seems OK. Friend coming tomorrow who has been ill.
H Help those in need. Will do my best.
R Relax. Have lots of books & projects to do so need to make a time each do to actually DO them. Did a bit of knitting today but need to get organised with projects now. Knitted in car whilst DH had a meeting but forgot book.
O Our Bodies Our Selves. Will deffo be doing this & am starting this week with a pamper day. Pampered self by putting on make up etc. Only pampering was a shower & putting some make up on.
U Useless On this, will take some to CS tomorrow. Am still sorting & binning. None today.
G Get out and about: Out for DH meeting, then on to local-ish town. Went into borough market & a man was playing an upright piano, wonderful.
H Half Year Review: Good idea & will work on this.
J Just a couple DH already looks like a combo of these two.
U yUo Had lunch at home & was then back for supper so no eating out. Resisted siren call of Chinese takeaway as we passed it.
L Look at each purchase: Purchased vehicle tax for said car; some groceries which were almost all YS & paid for with vouchers or points in Sains. Oh & 2 items in the sale.
Y You should check in daily Here I am, hello folks!

Thank you f0xh0les. Because dd has lessons (~£25 per 4 weeks), she can swim for free at any time. I'm going up there this morning while dh goes to the tip, to make sure I sign up for the right sort of membership.
