    Time to ponder July...

A Adventure - it feels like it has been a month of adventures, although I can't quite pinpoint why! Dd and I did a felted mouse workshop and fell in love with the skill

G Get creative in the kitchen. I have had plenty of salads with lunches - adding salt, evoo and white wine vinegar, which reminds me of our visit to Spain last summer.

E Eat Beans Day is on the 3rd July. We have had been a couple of times.

    N NSDs I made it to 16 :D

T Take care in the sun and keep a brolly to hand!

L Live on what is left after paying towards your debt or savings. As per usual.

E Exercise - take advantage of the long days to pack more in. Gardening and outdoor diy jobs count. I've sent dh up the ladder a few times, gardened, and exercised loads. Dd and I have also been swimming plenty.

    J July food days :rotfl:

O (H2)O Water fun. Yep - loadsa swimming. We've filled the paddling pool a couple of times too, and also emptied it as the green slime started to spread and critters started to breed in it!

G Geeks Unite. Living with a geek makes most days a geek day. It is part of our lifestyle

T Think of those who are ill. Definitely done.

H Help those in need. Done - esp with Mrs Neighbour - that'll be an ongoing one.

R Relax. Am loving chilling out in the hols, my meditation.

O Our Bodies Our Selves. An ongoing project...

U Useless and ugly objects need to leave your home. Keep up the clutter clearing. Not done so much this month, but still getting it done.

G Get out and about. Done.

H Half Year Review. Am better at looking ahead than back. Oops.

J Just a couple more ideas for the holidays "Build a Scarecrow Day " is on the 7th and "Tedddy Bear's Picnic day is on the 9th

U yUo should take your lunch to work each day and take appropriate refreshments to hospital visits and on days out Always done as finding gluten free food (let alone gluten and dairy free for dd) is so much faff.

L Look at each purchase to determine if it is a genuine need or just a want. Mostly done.

Y You should check in daily, if possible (especially when things go wrong). Yep, think i managed this.

Many thanks mothernerd for running July for us and keeping us on track. :T The quotes have been great and the CROW one really sticks in my mind :rotfl:

End of the month. NSD no 23 and I've only used half of the food/housekeeping budget. Frankly I'm amazed. This is due, of course, to going through all the food cupboards etc, using almost entirely what we already have (which is a lot) and being really strict about what we spent on. Mostly things like fruit, veg and milk. It's been an eyeopener I can tell you.

Less said about the weight loss the better. I've lost a few pounds but not as much as I hoped. Need to redouble my efforts next month. Not the best month healthwise for Himself so didn't manage to get out and about much nor did we manage much walking. Still on the plus side we've both given up drinking and it's been early nights and sleep patterns are improving.

Thanks for running this month, Mothernerd. Looking forward to next month's challenge.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

Mothernerd - Sorry to hear your news. Hugs.
Looking over the month I did overspend. Did panic buy a few things, but as least I will use them and they will last me quite a while.
    Did manage 25 nsd's.
Did try to go out for a walk each day.
    Grateful today for:
    NSD.
Read a couple of short stories.
    Walk in park.
Sorted out list etc for tomorrow.
Mothernerd - Thanks for running this month's challenge.

Thank you for all your kind words.

Have been removing random items of rubbish, packaging and recycling. Up and down the yard multiple times. Taken things out of the dishwasher - had not been washed but I am not running a full load for two pans and 3 oven trays. Also pulled out the gunk as someone has obviously put an unscraped plate in there - bits of pepper and possibly pasta. Put a slosh of white vinegar in the hole before I put the filter back.

Went to the library in between showers. Took a half sack of cs donations (quite heavy), returned two library books and found another bag load.

Overall I am fairly happy with the month. I spent heavily but it was on needed things, no frittering and have been further afield. My foot/ ankle injury is improving and I have been doing more exercise. Lots of thing I could have done better or would have liked to do more of but I am a work in progress and I have to accept some of my current limitations.

Next month has quite a few challenges but I am going to treat it as one big adventure. Thanks to everyone who has participated in this month's challenge, you make it what it is.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

    Evening everyone

my condolences mothernerd. I reiterate the thanks for running this month's challenge. You have chosen some funny and inspiring quotes :)

Looking back I haven't had much adventure but the month started with DD2 having an operation so it was a bit stressful.

I have got out and about and done regular exercise. I have enjoyed some lovely time with both DDs. Including today when DD1 and I had a lovely walk by the river in the afternoon sunshine.

I have been much better at leaving work worries behind.

I am eating from stores but meal planning needs to improve.

NSDs = 8 so need to try harder on that.

Look forward to seeing folks in August :)

    Hi all:j

many thanks to mothernerd for running the challenge, excellent as always.

On reflection, haven't done too badly, finally got another NSD to add to the total which was 13/12 NSDs - could do better though.

However, it will be hard as on holiday for most of August. I'll still be able to join in but won't get too many NSDs.

Quite a lot of decluttering has been done, it is still a WIP but progress made. Just need to keep on with it.

Nice to see my friend today, she dropped off her suitcase (for us to take over in the car), she will fly out to see me for approx. 4 days. Her suitcase weighs a ton :eek:goodness knows what's in it.

Planted a few plants before I got rained off, we are not flooded although MIL rang to check. We live on a hill...if we were flooded there would be no hope for the people further down ..

Cellar is not yet flooded but sure it is imminent.

New challenge tomorrow, onward to August!
