Today I am grateful for not waking up until 7.30, for headspace, for dd loving the party she went to, for easy journeys to and from said party, for the tennis, for getting plenty of washing dried, for the paddling pool to clamber in to after my workout, for planning biking adventures with dd, for sitting putside with a book whilst dd played with her syl fam stuff next to me.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

As predicted the weekend got messy and no doubt will be expensive why you may ask( or not) well : after taking 3.5 hrs for a 2 hr drive ( traffic was hell) we stopped for petrol and didn't start again lol. Hence the van plus us came back last night on a low loader. What can l say except gutted think my expectations for my 48 year old vw were a little optimistic. Bring on the cheque book.Count down to retirement 20230

Evening everyone
Have eaten all meals from stores today.
Been decluttering my room - a mega task - but making progress albeit slow.
Got washing dry on the line this afternoon.
Still looking after DD2 who is recovering from her op.
Did spend some money as bought a nightie in M$S - it was in the sale and I don't actually possess a nightie so it's a need not a want
Gratitudes - DD2 looking and feeling much better; fab tennis; pottering at home and not feeling pressured to do any work (I have work to do but it can wait)
Deni xx

Hi all:j
A Adventure No adventures today..
G Get creative in the kitchen. Made sweet & sour using up some YS veg. Lunch was leftovers plus couscous salad for me.
E Eat Beans Day is on the 3rd July. Duly eaten.
N NSDs Will go for low target as we are on holiday as well as DD this week & another week when she goes away later in the month. NSDs - finally - 1/12
T Take care in the sun Out early so it was overcast.
L Live on what is left Will do.
E Exercise: Gardening & housework exercise today..
J July food days abound Fried Chicken (6th - try "Kissing' instead), French Fries (13th), Hot Dogs and Peach Ice Cream (17th - No not together), Caviar (18th) Daiquiris (19th). My favourites are Fresh Spinach Day (16th) Blueberry (8th) and Vanilla Ice Cream (23rd). Other Ice cream days are available. Use these as a jumping off point to add some summer fun to your meal plan. Will pick a couple of these.
O (H2)O Water fun. Dogs have made holes in their pool, not sure how to get them in otherwise as they are so large. May have an old plastic one somewhere lurking in the shrubbery. Still to locate. Only water is the amount drunk by me. Now have food diary so water can be logged. Not started yet, will start tomorrow. Started with upping water & whilst I didn't drink all that I am supposed to, I did much better.
G Geeks May struggle here.
T Think of those who are ill Both elderly uncles are now suffering from terminal illnesses. Do think of them often. Had email from elderly relative, seems OK. Friend came who has been ill, spent 4.5 hours here so must have enjoyed himself..
H Help those in need. Will do my best.
R Relax. Have lots of books & projects to do so need to make a time each do to actually DO them. Did a bit of knitting today but need to get organised with projects now. Knitted in car whilst DH had a meeting but forgot book. More TV knitting tonight.
O Our Bodies Our Selves: Will deffo be doing this & am starting this week with a pamper day. Pampered self by putting on make up etc. Only pampering was a shower & putting some make up on. Plan for tomorrow.
U Useless On this, will take some to CS tomorrow. Am still sorting & binning. None today.
G Get out and about: No outs today but DH said we are going to plan tomorrow to go out next week . Didn't happen but will ask again tomorrow.
H Half Year Review: Good idea & will work on this.
J Just a couple DH already looks like a combo of these two.
U yUo All meals at home.
L Look at each purchase: Nothing today.

Today's gratitudes buddleia looking and smelling gorgeous, finding sunhats for me and mum in cs (not cheap but they are brand new), for spending more time communing with owls, for resisting going back to buy the lovely dress I saw yesterday (will wait for sale and maybe a size reduction), for finding all the over the counter medicinal stuff I needed, for the old man who asked me if I was alright on the bus yesterday, for a good chat with all 3 of my local councillors, for only a little rain when i was outside but more cooling breezes, for interesting food (finished off the noodle salad, bean salad, slightly wrinkly tomatoes, some of the grapes, last 3 slices of bacon and 2 buns - had to hunt for them as someone else has been eating them). Discovered that we now have a small zero waste shop (take your own containers and refill them) run by own of the people from film club.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0

Welcome to International Kissing Day which started in the UK as National Kissing Day. Just be nicer to people okay. Although making your sons make up by hugging and kissing one another is a great way to stop them fighting.
Kissing burns 6.4 calories per minute.
Life is short
Break the rules
Forgive quickly
Kiss slowly
Laugh uncontrollably
and never regret anything that makes you smile
If you only have one smile in you, give it to the people you love

I feel for you. We had a similar experience - drove 155 miles, were just 100m from our destination, turning right into the side road and the engine siezed up. The car wouldn't move at all, so we couldn't even shuffle it to the side of the road. We came home on TWO tow trucks, as one of them could only take us so far, so they swapped at some services. 9 hours 'driving' in total. The car went for scrap and it marked the start of 16 months without a car.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Morning all, I went to sleep before 11 which means I woke up just before 6am! So I've hung out one load of washing and put in another load; emptied the dishwasher and re-stacked it; put out the recycled paper I found in my bedroom - some of it dated back to 2017??! - and had 2 cups of tea...
If it's International Kissing Day today then i'll kiss anyone that lets me - probably just my cats then.....
Shabbychic12 - hope the repair bill isn't too high
apple - wow I can't imagine managing without a car for a week let alone 16 months
hope everyone has a good day

Deni - the car died on Dec 26th, right in the middle of winter. Not a time we would have chosen to do without! It affected me the most as I was the main user, but we all quickly adapted. I was out of the house at 6.25am 3 times a week and averaged 15K steps per day. We are very fortunate to live in a place with very good public transport, and apps to tell us when the buses are due. We only got another one as we were going away camping for a few days - the excuse dh needed to buy one!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Hello :hello:
I'm just finally managing to drag my way out from the biggest virtual pile of exam papers I've ever known. However, the end is in sight and I no longer need to do 15 hour days just to keep my head above water.
I know I'm a week late this month, and I also have a week away on holiday at the end of the month, but I'm wondering if you'll have me along as a cheerleader, desperately trying to get back on track? I love the Turtles, and a few little challenges and goals to help keep me on the straight and narrow.
It's been a shaky start to the month but I really need to get on now and pull myself back into reality - and not just fritter away the money I've spent so much time and effort earning. Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control
