No spends yesterday takes me to 15 for the month. Defo on track to break my own record of 17.

I should manage a NSD today too but there was talks of going for a drink or 2. Could do without if I am honest. No plans this weekend either, which means I should bag another NSD at least!
  • Didn't get my NSD in the end we ordered a takeaway but hardly ate any of it so no idea why I did that tbh.

So today I am working all day, the air con broke in here yesterday but it's fixed now and better stay that way haha

    Yesterday was NSD9.
DH pootled off to camp with his mates for the weekend.

I can no longer cook for 4, there is enough left over to feed them all for lunch today, so a win really. I get DS1 back tonight, so there will no longer be leftovers, ever again.

I know how fascinating you find my bedtime bedroom temperature, so here it is, at 10.30pm it was 30.1 degrees. The top floor is much hotter. So the 2 smallest lay on top of the double bed up there with the fan on (had to close the roof windows as heavy rain forecast overnight, which it did, for about 15 minutes. Then some muppets kept me awake for ages at 2am doing what sounded like bumper cars. He hit the kerb (bump), I think he hit one of the parked cars (bump), and so on and so forth for blimmin' ages, then door slamming, then taxi's (thank you driver! slam, slam, slam) arrived one after the other. Blah! I couldn't sleep anyway, but it was loud and these are not kids. Today it is only 25 degrees, laundry on the line already nearly dry, I am taking it easy. Lazy sofa reading day with a bit of furniture moving planned for tomorrow.

    Have a great day Turtles!

    Hi all,

So yesterday has gone to plan so far.

Exercise - I’ve done 8500 steps so far and currently charging the Fitbit. I did an aqua aerobics class and 15 minutes of swimming too.

Food - ate healthily so far. Had a mini chocolate bar as my daily treat. Had a picnic in the car whilst out - chicken, raspberries and banana so all on plan.

Money - today was expected to be speedy as the cupboards were empty and yesterday was payday. Cupboards are stocked up and ready to make healthy meals :) Also filled up with petrol and got my sister’s birthday present for next week. Getting nails done tonight for wedding this weekend.

  • Hi all
Sorry for absence, been busy with RL and couldn't get on website yesterday for some reason...
Anyway, achieved a NSD on Wednesday - think that's 7 :) Took my dad to a concert!! We wanted to buy a mug each but they didn't have any so that made it a NSD.
Did some shopping yesterday but only spent a little as we currently have no oven so can only cook on the hob - who wants to cook in this heat anyway ?!
Worked at home on Weds to make progress with my qualification - good progress was made.
Boss suggested we finish early yesterday due to excessive heat; we work in an old building with no air con and inadequate blinds so it was horrible :(
Gratitudes - lovely evening with my Dad at kd Lang concert; amazing concert; Dad insisted on giving me money towards petrol even though it was supposed to be my treat to him!; electric fans; it's Friday!!

    Hope everyone is doing ok
    Deni
    xx

    NSD No 20

    Cloudy but hot and muggy.

Himself is not well again. He went back to bed and has just got up. He really needs to see a doctor again but refuses to go as they don't seem to be able to get to the bottom of his problems. Don't know how to convince him.

Housekeeping withdrawal day and I still have money left from last week. I would reduce the budget but I think this might just be a temporary situation till the food supply goes down a bit. Still the excess is being moved to savings and not frittered away (as it once would have been) so that's good.

I had taken some fish out of the freezer for dinner but since Himself is not hungry I'll cook it and use it later to make fish pie or fishcakes or something. Think I might just have some pasta and a stir in sauce.

Have a good and hopefully cooler weekend.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

    Was a small spend day.
    Grateful for:
    Nice/supportive texts from family members.
Getting text to say I have appointment with consultant on Monday.
Using free voucher from a complaint to get treats from my favourite shop. Still have money left on the voucher.
Used a free £5 voucher to get some free hand cream.
Cooler weather also for the rain.

Today I am grateful for being able to get to sleep last night, for doing my workout outside in the rain, for dd recovering quickly from yesterday's travels in the heat, for good books, for a good swim with dd, for mrs neighbour thanking me, for lots of excitement in the Tour.

Knew it was a spendy day so did a small shop. Brought dry washing in, booked eye appointment and a taxi for this afternoon then went to the square to wait for mum. As it was getting close to the start of film time, I went in to pay for our tickets, left the big bag on our seats and went back to wait (I had phoned the house and she did not answer so I assumed she was on her way).

Film was quite enjoyable, much better than I was anticipating. Waited by the church for the taxi and went to the infirmary to get mum's blood tests done (no-one in waiting room) then sat in the sunshine (cool breeze) to wait for the taxi home.

Ate and had another shower then went to see the evening film. The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society - absolutely brilliant.

Today I am grateful for slight reduction in heat, books and films.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.
