Was quite pleasant here earlier but getting hotter now. Quite dull though so there might be rain and thunder. I don't think I'm really looking forward to the high temperatures tomorrow.
Gas safety check tomorrow so spent this morning emptying the bathroom cupboard so the man can get at the boiler and the cupboard under the kitchen sink so he can get at the meter. Oh well, I suppose it'll force me into clearing them both out and getting rid of/recycling/gifting some of the stuff that's in there. Will probably have to do it without the Hoarder otherwise known as Himself being involved otherwise I'll never get rid of anything.
Had salad for lunch and we're having one of the many pizzas in the freezer for dinner. I might be being optimistic but I think I see a few gaps appearing. Now, if only I can keep Himself out of the shops so he doesn't fill them up again.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
Today I am grateful for last night's thunderstorm, for the paddling pool to cool off in, for my workout, for a good chat with my GP (and for my google-informed-self-diagnosis being correct!), for getting the shopping and being home before the proper heat arrived, for finding reasonably-priced accommodation on the IOW next month when step dd1 is over.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Hi all:j
Pretty warm here today too, DH suggested going out shopping(!) but reasoning the very large shop is airconditioned, plus he can have fish & chips, win-win as far as he's concerned.
Due to be even warmer tomorrow, will be getting up early for the sake of the animals - and myself too..
NSDs still 11/12
Ate out today, but lunch was at home
Into garden early before it got too hot
Out tomorrow maybe, but only locally so more time at home to do stuff. Less than 2 weeks to hols but have a lot to do..
Purchases were made of clothing but all linen that was reduced to very cheap, in this weather I think it will help.

Hot here too. Slow day. Had a good sleep 11 pm to around 7 am in roughly 2 hour chunks (aiming for 3 +). Tried for more sleep after taking my pills but then showered, read whilst waiting to dry before applying protective creams.
Found my wallet:j:j:j Had a 1 pm appointment so went to get cash (mum owes me as I gave her cash from my 'workmen' drawer pile). Used points to buy lunch then walked round to the bus station for the infirmary bus.
Review went well (just not losing weight yet - all good otherwise). Didn't take as long as expected so ate lunch whilst waiting for the bus. Took the bus to Morries to buy salad and ys bargains (mushroom stir fry 32p, 2 small red pepper and feta cheese tarts) and they had frozen yoghurt :j. Saw the bus as I came out of the SM but couldn't catch it with 2 heavy bags, so sat reading and drinking water,
Lovely conversation with grandfather of baby who got on my bus going - said he had swapped the baby for a bunch of flowers. Baby was only 2 days old. I was surprised that mum and baby were out (not of hospital but out of the house and using public transport) so long chat about how things have changed, various birth experiences of several of his ex-wives.
Saw bus approaching so ambled to the stop (Morries is the penultimate stop so when you see the bus coming it is going to the bottom of the road to turn round, which leaves time for doddery old folk to get to the stop).
Sat down on a bench when I got off the bus. Walked across two lanes of busways and sat down again. Ate my cheese tarts and drank some water. Carried on, stopping frequently to swap hands. Even went in the Turkish barbers and asked to sit for a few minutes (he had no customers and has long leather benches for those waiting). He asked if I needed a glass of water but I was fine with the sit down. Thanked him again then went down the side street and across the car park.
Was hoping to use my bus ticket to get rid of some old phones and wires (on car park of large arseda store) but my body has had enough. Carrots and hummus to eat.
Just had a tepid shower, have a clean sheet to put on the bed (was tempted to put it in the freezer for 10 minutes).
Today I am grateful for babies, grandfathers and helpful barbers. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Always be kind. If you see someone falling behind, walk beside them. If you see someone is being ignored find a way to include them. If someone has been knocked down, lift them up. Always remind people of their worth. Be who you needed when you were going through hard times. Just one small act of kindness could mean the world to someone.
We are the ones with messy hair, the dirty feet and the wild sparkle in our eyes.
We belong amonst the wild flowers, listening to the wind or with our toes dipped in the sea.
We embrace the arts. Creativity is often our universal language.
Yet even with fire in our blood, unbridled spirit and wild heart, we do not all wander.
Some have found freedom in one place. Home.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Good morning turtles,
A night out last night cost me roughly £40 but my boss said to put it on expenses, so I believe that counts as a NSD. If so, I'm now on 14 for the month. A decent number and I'm on track to perhaps break my record BUT when I have been spending, my spending has been too high. So my finances have been taking a hit this month. Something I need to rectify.0 -

T'would be cooler. Somehow you are managing to make me sound even more attractive than in real life.
