    So slightly strange mood today.

Have thrown lots away (but much much more to do).

Spent 2 hours yesterday working out DS3's 'rent'. Had to use the back of my account book as it needed accounting paper. Originally he paid me every 4 weeks when he received his WTC. When he started to earn more his WTC reduced and it didn't cover what was needed, so he started to pay me bits here and there. Sometimes he borrows it back (got an unexpected tax bill or has inadvertently overdrawn - some of his earnings come from Japanese and US websites and they choose the exchange rate that suits them).

Took 2 full account book pages, 4 pages of notebook (wrote down all the bank transactions first). He owes me 25 pounds and is due to pay again on August 15th. I wouldn't accept that he doesn't owe me the money until the 15th as it's still 'within the period' - it's complicated enough.

Last night I filled a paper sack - historical paperwork which doesn't need to be disturbed really but was wondering why mum's old tax return stuff takes up so much space. Discarded the landlord insurance policy notebooks and all the notes, leaving behind the 'receipt' - amount paid and dates covered. looked briefly at the 'insurance' paperwork. Decide to leave it for now but glad to see I have the original policies. It doesn't come into force until mum dies but I have spent countless hours trying to update my contact information and replying to umpteen letters (interrogations) from different departments in different locations all imposing fake deadlines on me (I have the policies, they aren't invalidated by companies trying to make me jump through hoops because of mergers and acquisitions).

I made bacon soup and had gammon and pineapple. Had taken prawns onions and cooking bacon from the freezer, the cooking bacon was 6 huge wodges of gammon so 1 for tea and 2 for soup, may repeat today.

I have just written my accounts. The red account book has been back and forth to mum's and back, delayed finalising because I thought there were more receipts somewhere (have nearly thrown away some of them several times despite having written 'business 18 - 19' on the top. Just end up with so many receipts from mine and mum's shopping then have a clear out when I can't find anything in my bag.

Tax office said last year that I need not provide further tax returns. It must be obvious that I'm not hiding my millions and spending 6 months of the year on my yacht (I don't earn enough to pay national insurance). Just holding on grimly for retirement, my worn out and battered body held together with glue string and willpower (and a rather lovely state of the art metal, ceramic - like a hob - and something else hip replacement which will be 5 years old in November).

At some point today I will attempt to whittle down the tax/ WTC/ Carer's Allowance paperwork to the essentials but need a break now. Also need to do piles of washing as I've rounded up bedding, towels, bathmats and some things that were the result of a leaking bottle plus ordinary clothes.

Tidied up my pills and the top of my bedside cart just need to carry on with the rest of the house whilst trying not to disturb the sleepers. It may be the heat but they seem to be sleeping longer and not when I expect them to.

Today i am grateful for overnight rain and some cloud cover, for getting things done and for calm. Bite on my arm still looks angry but feeling a lot less painful. Friday was a spendy day but included spray insect bite cream (awkward one on my shoulder blade so difficult to reach) and other over the counter medicines, light bulbs for my room (DS3 changed it straight away when I asked) and other things that were not absolutely essential (metal buckets and planters for the garden) but form the backbone of what I want to do and have gone from 'Oh look', through 'that's just what I need' to 'Where did all those go, they've only a couple left' and 'end of summer, get them before they swap it for the midwinter festival stuff'.

Treated myself to a cheapo garden mag last week (well mum did as everything else was her shopping) to get ideas for what I can sow and nurture with the rest of this year and to get in front for next year's growing season - looked at multi packs of cabbage/ cauli/ broc plants last week. Nourishes my soul. Can still plant new potatoes to have at the midwinter feast.

A neighbour has two apple trees and they are quite compact, more shrub size really but he gets loads of golden delicious type apples, he never picks them but I've asked him if I can and he's fine with that.
That has always weirded me out, the people who have fruit dripping off their trees but will only buy stuff wrapped in plastic - as one of my neighbours told me, 'fruit comes from T0sc0', she let me scrump her trees though and thought me terribly common for it.

I got a cross body messenger type bag for my trip to Rome, it is a mans apparently
Ah, if it does not come with a cartoon character, or an endangered animal print, or if it is actually big enough to fit stuff in it, it is a 'man's' bag (nods wisely like it makes sense). Don't get me started on men's pockets in clothes being bigger than women's pockets - if we are ever allowed pockets. How else are we supposed to carry the menfolk's items without a wheelbarrow? Oh, stick that in your bag will you love? grrrrrr!

Anyway, DH is in a major strop today. No patience. DS1 is packing for his trip tomorrow, DS2 is being a swine (see DH's mood) and it is already too warm here for me. Two loads of washing on the line, 3 lbs of berries processed and open frozen along with a couple of ripe bananas. Smoothie season can officially begin.

Just pottering about today, getting stuff done that needs to be done. DS1 away all week, DH away next weekend, to be honest I cannot wait!

It feels like a hostage situation already after only one week of no school.:eek::eek::rotfl:
    10 days til payday.
Step gran is unhappy I am only coming to see her for 8 days - nearly told her to fornicate off - we are going to have to have words soon. That will be fun! Oh well, it would never do to be boring, would it? C'est la vie and all that.

    Still on NSD No16

Quick walk to the shops. Just needed some coffee and veg but also found a half price free range chicken. Three of us are having it for dinner and I suspect there will be enough to feed Himself and I in various forms until Wednesday and make some stock for soup. Made some lentil soup for the Boy's lunches.

It's been a muggy, drizzzely sort of day so I must confess we haven't really done much. Oh well, I suppose it is the weekend. Lots to do tomorrow though.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

Not reporting in as much as there has not been much too report. Still managing to do NSD's. Was quite a spend day on Friday. What I ordered will last me quite a while. Waiting for them to be delivered. Phoned hospital regarding referral, passing it over to consultant. Last blood test was lower than previous but still high according to lady who I spoke to.
    Grateful today for:
    NSD.
    Starting a new book.
    Nice relaxing bath.
    Watching 2 films on tv.
    Walk in park.

Good to hear from you, Kerry Woman - I was wondering where you were.

Mothernerd - how are you getting on with the darth vader contraption?

Today I am grateful for a good night's sleep, for a good time at kids klub, for the athletics, and the netball, and the cycling, and Star Wars, for my gooseberries, for finding a new set of workouts to try, for a quick mow and weed making the garden feel so much better.

thank you for asking apple. I am more relaxed about it since I got a good report. I tend to worry about things that have their own cleaning regime and there have been times when I've not cleaned it in the morning and then worry about whether it's dry enough (water and electricity although the airflow is away from the machine). it even says yu can put the machine on to help finish drying the hose.

It is helping, I am sleeping for longer (some 3 hour chunks ) and more deeply and the filters mean that I don't wake up with a sore throat because of inhaling pollen grains. I already had 19 stages from waking up to being dressed and ready and that and the foot/ ankle bandages have added more bits.

I haven't scared anyone yet. I did warn DS3 and Beloved that they might meet me wearing it in the middle of the night and mum and I shared a room when we were away. maybe it's an improvement on how I usually look although mum keeps going on about bed hair (the straps ruffle it up). She only heard the phrase 'bed hair' recently and now she keeps using it.

    Hi all:j

More housework today then visitors, nice to see them though

Cake may have been eaten by everyone. And I gave them some to take home

Bonus was that they asked us to visit next Friday - been waiting ages for this invite - and will see my other uncle at the same time.

DD got home at 7.30am having been at work since 8 the previous night. Emergencies meant that she had to stay on. Had to get up again at 11am to go on holiday, was to say the least - tired. Thank goodness she wasn't driving to Dover. Was concerned about them both but now safely in France, hotel overnight & will continue journey after staying in a hotel for the night.

DH a bit unwell but will plan where to go this week tomorrow, subject to him being fit.

no spends today so 10/12 NSDs

Checking in mostly daily, hello Turtles.

A rather spendy weekend unfortunately. It locking myself in the house yesterday allowed me to get to 12 NSD's for today. I suspect and plan that today and tomorrow will be to!

On rare occasions there comes along a profound original, an odd little book that appears out of nowhere, from the pen of some obscure author and once you have read it you can never completely go back to where you were before. The kind of book you might hesitate to lend for fear you might miss it's company. The kind of book that echoes from the heart of some ancient knowing and whispers from time's forgotten cave that life may be more than it seems, and less

A person of some intelligence and sensitivity cannot exist inthis society for very long without having some anger about the inequality.... and it's not just a knee-jerk liberal kind of thing....it's just a normal human reaction to a nonsensical set of values where we have cinnamon flavoured dental floss and there are people sleeping in the street

The second quote is so true.

Thanks mothernerd for the info on the fruit, if I want to put the new plant in a different place how do I remove the runner, do I just break it off and push it into the soil in a new place?
