Minimise:
-bills - Will look at insurance on BTL (due June) Am hoping energy usage is lower due to nice weather = line dried laundry and fewer lights on.
-clutter - posted a flebay parcel, a box of books to Z1ff1t and some clothes back to M&S which I decided I didn't need.
-toxic situations and people - a family wedding this month could be 'interesting'...…
-unloved items - see clutter
-unnecessary spends - ok - spends today on last bits to finish the decking and small amount of food (<£12)
-waste – food and other - only food waste was 1.5 new potatoes from OH's dinner - they were covered in gravy or I would have saved them. Did have to bin 3 black plastic broken flowerpots - local garden centre no longer recycles them
Maximise:
-dreams (dream big)
-fruit and veg intake
-fun + laughter (so important!)
-generosity (donate, give, help others)7 today
-getting niggly jobs done (then they can stop bugging you) - OH carried on with decking today. I sewed a badge on swimming towel (DS3) from April and mended 2 items of clothing. Finally potted on tomatoes to final pots and potted on some very small plugs. DS2 sawed a branch up so that it would fit in garden waste bin.
-health (don’t pay for health issues later in life – be healthy now!)
-moving more (goes with health. Get shifting that booty) - time spent in garden today planting/ moving pots/ shifting bits of decking
-time with those you love (you can’t do this once they’re gone. Make the most of them now) done today

Hi all:j
Minimise:
Bills Looking to get some secondary DG on our old windows to help with heating this place. To that end:
Clutter Lots to clear before even survey to do windows could be organised. Started in room that visitors are due to be sitting in on Monday..
Spending Need to budget for groceries.
Unnecessary spends Try to avoid shop visits with DD who is an avid consumer. And then I spend when I didn't intend to.
Waste Do try not to waste, especially food but will be on it. Think DH is taking it too far when he is trying to stick together a cereal bowl he just broke - well it will be ok, it's only in 3 pieces :rotfl:
Maximise:
Dreams (dream big) Would like to fit the DG as mentioned earlier, also need the driveway doing but would be a very large amount of cash as it's so big....
Education
Fruit and veg intake Definitely need to increase F&V consumption, on this.
Getting niggly jobs done Painting inside & out, get builder to fit cowl on chimneys, get chimney swept, painting outside as well.
HealthLose approx. a stone & a half.
Meal Planning Need to meal plan as tend to go with the flow, and it doesn't always work out.
Moving more - More exercise taken as gardening.
Time with those you love Visit of rellies on Monday for a catch up.

For yesterday
Minimise
Bills - Energy provider switch happened yesterday.
Plastic - Haven't bought cling film for a while but still have rolls of food bags to use up. I wash them out as much as possible so that they are not just single use.
Waste - No food waste.
Screen time - Very little screen time yesterday but mostly because I was at work all day.
Maximise
Fruit and veg intake - Had a big salad for lunch but that was itso probably 2 portions worth.
Health - Managed 11,000 steps.
Extra pennies - Did a shift for 2nd job after my usual work.
Time with those you love - Didn't get a chance to spend much time with OH but will tonight.
Aim for 15 NSDs - 1/15Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.7.25 - £106,653.66
Mortgage overpayment savings - £33.53/£50
Mortgage overpayments so far - £612.990 -
Foxholes- of course you are right!
Yesterday I minimised-
waste- by using some very out of date cornflour for some short bread biscuits.
Unnecessary spends- by getting my parents birthday & fathers day gifts using military discount & points offers & discount codes in boots. My parents are tough to buy for as they're snobs & they only ever wear designer :rotfl:But I decided I wasnt going to go over what I could afford.
Plastic- just took my fruit loose from Tesco , instead of bagging or buying pre bagged. Theres a new shop in town that has no plastic or packaging that I'd like to try too!
I Maximised-
Time with loved ones by spending time playing with my kids, watching TV series with hub that we both enjoy. The kids cant complain really though, we have been off all week & been on bike rides, to the beach, done lots of baking etc etc.
Health- watched what I ate.

Morning! :coffee:
F0xh0les - I'm learning Bulgarian through an app called Mondly. It's great fun, and according to the Bulgarian lady I work with it's very accurate as well...
I am incredibly busy. As I knew I would be. The small mercy is that the weather here has been awful so I haven't wanted to be out and about doing anything. Also, I keep thinking about when I will get paid which will be lovely, and I keep thinking about how much better my teaching will be after learning through this.
I didn't manage a nsd. Turns out my kids are going through a 'toast' phase without telling me and I only discovered when I went to make a sarnie for lunch yesterday to find no bread. I had something else for lunch but had to get more bread (and milk) from Aldee to satisfy the toast monsters.
Haven't had time to properly focus on setting goals for the month ahead. Mainly it's survive, save money and don't panic. :rotfl:Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

I am going to give this another go. I have also pinned the page so I won't forget.
Yesterday was a no spend day :j. I also made sure that my house also no longer looked like a dangerous electric cupboard by rearranging all my wires.
Today will also be a no spend day. I am going to finish clearing the living room and do the washing. No Spend November 2/15 and SPC 1340 -
Back to work and school tomorrow so today is all about getting organised. Went out for the day with the kids yesterday, nothing special but we had fun. No plans to spend today.
Washing is on the line but I don't know how long for as it is clouding over, we have had no heat in Yorkshire, just cloud.
Plan for today:
Make a chilli for tea/lunch tomorrow
Make pizza dough for the freezer
Make energy balls
Book a trip away for DH and the kids
Weed the veg patch
Clean the bathroom
Write up my work notes so I can actually find the right bit when I need it.
Walk the dog
Go for a bike ride
I have gained about 7lb since Easter and need to get it off by the end of this month so I need to get back to my normal eating habits.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

A big "fail" on minimising bills for me yesterday - I left the smallest ring of the hob on when I finished cooking pasta - only noticed when the empty pan started to give off burning smells, after 40 minutes or so. Very little gas will have been used, but its not only the gas, its the "burned on" aftereffects on the pan2023: the year I get to buy a car0
