    Managed to post yesterday's offering on last week's thread - what a numpty.

    Anyway, moving on...
    the big news is that I have an interview this afternoon!! Interview done, and I was happy with my performance. Will find out within 48 hours if I was successful. I feel that I gave it my best shot, so if they decide they don't want me, I'll be OK with that. It's always worse if you think you could have done better!

    But before then I need to

    - do my 'end of the month' stuff - check bank (personal and business) and reconcile statements, chase unpaid invoices. Done
    - run pay roll. Because we run our own business, I pay myself. So whatever else is happening, that has to happen!! Done
    - do some last minute thinking about the interview, in particular the answers to the usual stock interview questions. You know you're going to get asked 'Why do you want to work here?' and 'What can you bring to the role?' - so it would be daft not to think of the answers ahead of time. Done
    - Rubber Chicken Day Two - I'm a day behind, as I couldn't be !!!!!d to cook on Sunday evening. Tonight I think I'll make a chicken pie topped with mashed potato as I have a large bag of potatoes that I need to finish off (bought for 39p from Aldi on 26th April because they were on their Best Before date - there's still nothing at all wrong with them, but they won't last forever!!). It's gym night, so if I assemble it before I go I can pop it in the oven when I get back in and it'll be ready by the time I've showered and generally sorted myself out.
    No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...

    Hi May Money-Marvelousos,

    A precious two weeks off....:j Just back from two days in the Highlands osprey watching. The first day we went during opening hours and paid for entry to a SWT reserve during centre opening hours, the second day we went out of hours and weren't required to pay for entry. (This was legal! We didn't break in!)

    Sorry I've not been on here much but I've been trying to keep the MSE faith while out in the real world. We fly overseas tomorrow for a much needed budgetted for holiday :cool: so today I need to eat a few frogs and tie up a lot of matters so that we can go away with no clouds hanging over our heads. Some of the things I need to do are quite stressful.

    Just a wee list.

    Debt-Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Five:

    * Check online banking. Done.

    * Continue my Challenge 500 miles challenge to travel 500 miles for free before the end of 2019: walking, hiking, climbing, cycling, running and swimming. I'm up to 201/500. Will walk. Not done. Gardened for two hours instead.

    * Clear out In Tray. Done.

    * Clear out wallet. Done.

    * Clear emails. Done.

    * Deep clean bedroom. Done. Window frames need painting. Have prepped them so they can be re-painted when we get back. Plants temporarily evacuated away from cleaning product miasma on bedroom windowsill.

    * Deep clean laundry cupboard and clear pile of laundry. Cleaned and all the washing is in progress so that when we come home we don't have a backlog. This will use a bit of gas and electric, but we don't use much of either while we are away.

    * Deep clean bathroom and study. Done.

    * Burn this year's photos to CD. Done.

    * Freeze fridge perishables.Done and cleaned fridge.

    “Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end.”

    Morning all :coffee:
    Another freezing cold and miserable day in North East England today. Good job I have plenty of school work to do and a couple of episodes of GOT to watch.
    Trailing - good luck this afternoon. Fingers firmly crossed for you.
    HK - feel your pain with the cats. 4 of mine are due jabs or medication and I can't keep putting it off. Well I can until Friday, which is payday.
    CLF - hope all is ok this morning :kiss:
    Got a low spend day yesterday - took the kids to the cinema using T£sco vouchers, but had to top up with £1.20.
    Other than that I did pretty well - plenty of crochet and relaxing (more than I thought I'd get during exam time).
    Today I need to pop into town to pick a parcel up. Massively avoid putting the heating on by snuggling under my blankets all day.
    May also need to do some shopping as we seem to be out of a few essentials (will see what happens once the kids are up). Will definitely make a list though.
    Other than that, feet up, work from home and try and recover from this cold.

    Morning all,
    Trailing - good luck with the interview.
    Ally, I hope you have a lovely holiday
    Ziggy, thanks for this weeks thread.

    Kids are on half term this week so it was nice to have a slower start then normal .

    Todays list
    * ys bagels for breakfast :A
    * wash a load on the quick 30 degree wash and hopefully get it hung out and dried between showers! :A
    * check banking /update spreadsheet
    * take a snack to the hospital this afternoon for ds2s blood test as he sometimes feels a bit 'off' afterwards, better to go prepared then be ripped off by the on site shops! :A
    * make dh's & ds2s lunches for tomorrow
    * cook two chickens at the same time and pass some over to my parents :A and :A
    * general potter around
    * email the council rather then ring them and spend an hour on hold! :A

    Hopefully I'll add more as the day goes on.
    Take care all.

    CCL, I crossed posts with you, I hope you're feeling better soon. Last thing you need at this time of year, I bet!

  • Hi everyone, just catching up on news.
    Been down south to visit family for a few days. We went for lunch with dad and step mum as was SM's birthday - sis and I paid half each for the parents but wasn't too expensive. My dad later on gave me some money towards petrol and for my 2 x DDs which was very kind of him :) Went for lunch yesterday with other 2 sisters but in the queue at the M$S caf! a lovely lady gave us vouchers for free hot drinks so we saved over £5! My sis has looked after me very well with nice food and lots of dog walks, G&Ts & relaxing in front of the TV - my FT job is giving me lots of stress at the moment so a break was very welcome.
    On the MSE front - I have had to spend on petrol as round trip over 500 miles but I've done lots of UGov surveys, most food courtesy of sis and now home i am defrosting sausages for DD1 and I tea. We're off to M$S as I have vouchers running out by end of May including my reward voucher from SB! Weather looks ok here in the north west so hope to hang out washing later.
    Hope everyone has a good day whatever you are doing Deni xx
