Hello
Sounds like people have enjoyed the bank holiday. I have as well - without leaving the house. It feels and sounds a bit lazy but has been one of those days we all need from time to time. I got a bit of a lie in, ds had a friend round, I started watching Game of Thrones, did a bit of crochet, a bit of cooking to use up some leftovers and bagged a nsd as well. Happy days, and I will look back on this and be very grateful when I'm back into the 16 hour work days of exam season.
Lovely to see you back HK. You really are such an inspiration - you just keep going no matter what life throws at you. I hope that the operations are very soon and do exactly what they need to.
I too have had the heating on today - it only comes on if the temperature in the living room falls below 13 degrees, which it did today. Brr.Not giving up

Hiya, I am yet to work out how to socialise without spending much, had a super quiet BH weekend, all day Saturday on the couch, yesterday and today doing bits and pieces, avoiding writing an application for funding for a course I want to do in July. My new"Bank Manager" tells me I can only do it if I get funding, but writing my application means I have to face the fact that I haven't fed my creative monster for a long time, and hence have no results to show/talk about.
Apart from that I just went to Tesco and bought a lot of vege and fruit, had to buy yet more revision papers and work books - only a week till it all starts for my DS.
Rest of week will have to be NSD as paid monster water bill, and put the rest of my money in my budget/savings account. They will eventually have to be separated out, but at the moment they have to double up.
The big reason I got into debt in the first place was that all my family lives in europe, and I am now at the point of the year of facing not going this summer which is hard. On Thursday I'm going to an NHS open house and hoping to apply to work as bank staff for the summer to top up my income. As this will distract me from going!
Anyways I started my running course last week and managed to top up with 2 runs this weekend, so with a but of luck I will start to meet more people in time.
Also have sneaky plans to rebuild a dress to a skirt, it's a but clunky so it will take a bit of work. Might bring into work tomorrow for a bit of feedback - but I really need a summer skirt!
Have a lovely short week.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Ziggy Thank you for starting this weeks thread :A
One of the major things we did today is have a good sort out in one of our main rooms which had turned into a dumping ground. We are all responsible, but dd is the worst culprit, I'm going to try and keep on top of this room, wish me luck.
Today I managed to:
Home educate the children for free
NSD
PAD
PMP etc
All meals from stores
Lit the stove, kettles on top for plenty of free hot
water
Put the washing to dry in front of the fire overnight
Made bread
Made porridge
Mixed up a batch of porridge
Written shopping list
I also saved money as both the groups the children usually go to on a Monday were cancelled because of the bank holiday, no subs and no fuel used running them around

Chilly start to the day - woolly socks on.
I have no plans, and nothing out of the ordinary that needs to be done - which I hate. I'll be spending the day looking for work, and write a bit for my blog. As it's a non-gym day, I'll go for a walk. Raining at the moment, so probably won't go walking! It cleared up!! So, off I went. Decided to go a different walk - I normally walk along the canal, but there's a public park at the top of the road, so I walked up there and explored. Discovered an area of heathland at the top of the park, full of bilberry bushes - who knew!! I'll be up there when the time comes, gathering enough for a pie!!
It might be a good day to make a start on cleaning the old car - we have an old MGB in the garage, which we're going to sell and split the proceeds between us, but it needs a bit of fettling before we can put it on the market. I've been waiting for soon-to-be-ex to come over and do it with me, but that doesn't look like it's going to happen any time soon. If a thing's worth doing, it's worth doing yourself... Just spoke to him on the phone, he's 'pencilled it in' for Saturday. Seriously, his life isn't one non-stop whirl of excitement, there's absolutely no need for him to 'pencil' anything in - he just needs to crack on. I think I'm expected to have no plans myself, and to be grateful when he deigns to show up. I'll be cleaning out the inside this afternoon, then next time the weather's OK I'll get it out and wash it. Just want rid of it now, but it needs to pass its MOT before we can sell it. Got the inside cleaned out, so that's a good job jobbed. Hopefully himself will turn up on Saturday and we can get the rest sorted.
