  • Hi all, nice to catch up on everyone's news. Not spending too much here just little shopping top ups. Overdrawn at the moment as self employment payment is over 2 weeks late! Allowed DD1 to put the heating on tonight for a couple of hours as it is so cold. Now in bed with a hot water bottle - bizarre in May?!! Eating meals from stores and done a few surveys this week. Keep dry and warm everyone Deni xx

Wow, determined, that's a serious list of jobs you've got there!!
I don't think I can compete, but here goes -
    • check through bank account statement preparatory to OH and I dividing our money up. Done
    • chase a couple of non-payers - need to check the business bank account before I do the chasing, who knows they might have paid since yesterday... They have. And breathe...
    • do the ironing that I didn't do on Wednesday Not yet... Done it!! Honestly, it only took 20 minutes. Now I just have to get round to putting it all away...
    • complete a job application that I've started Done
    • do the weekly shopping. I'm currently averaging just over £15 a week (there's only me) on food, so the challenge is to keep it that way! I'd originally budgeted £30 a week, but with a combination of meal planning, using up the stores, and canny cooking, I've got it down to £2.22 a day - and that includes the occasional coffee out, and a takeaway once a month! Slightly up on last week, but average is still only £15.60 a week.
    • my normal Friday morning in the office. Done
Looks like it's going to be another damp day - but improving next week. And the weather's much nicer than I thought it would be!!
No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...

    Morning Campers,
What I want to do today: Pot up baby squash & courgette plants, plant out cosmos, sow sweetcorn, harden off geraniums for free container plants, etc, etc. What I shall ACTUALLY be doing because it is still raining & cold is:
*Clean house using up an assortment of cleaning products I brought back when clearing out Mum's house.
*Finalising meal plan for next week & writing it into my diary.
    *Write shopping list.
*Sort out a cheque for my sister who successfully managed to order the skirt I wanted, despite the website (& shop) saying 'None in stock' each time I looked. Got £5 off & it was a decent price anyway.
*Continue knitting 2nd sleeve as I am wanting to move onto my next project.
*Progress my major HQ blitz. Filled 3 bin bags on Weds but still plenty more shredding as I update my household management files.
*Water conservatory plants, which are looking a bit sad from hot weather quickly being replaced by cold.
*Bath & hair wash.... Use-it-ups still ongoing on many products.
*Cut anti-inflammatory gel tube open to see if I can get another use out of it. With prescriptions now £9 per item, none of it needs to be wasted.
*Phone dairy to see why our trial week of milk delivery has gone wrong this morning. Received wrong milk, & in plastic carton. Whole point of starting home delivery was to reduce our plastic consumption by having returnable glass bottles.
*Test out some (free) grouting cleaner on kitchen floor to see if it has any noticeable effect.
*Make list of jobs I could usefully do in town tomorrow.
By the way, some good yellow stickers recently: bag of fresh thyme @ 5p (now drying to refill my jar, as my own plant has been given a severe haircut), a bag of mangetout @ 20p instead of £1.20, salmon fillets @ £2 instead of £4....& not a yellow sticker, but also picked up a ham hock for the freezer, as our local butcher now sells these for £2.50 & they are so nice done in the slow cooker.
OK, time to get a move-on, I've had two coffees, I should be springing to life now!
Wishing everyone a productive day & live to everyone not feeling their best. Just noticed cat mysteriously missing. Hope Mr F didn't leave bedroom door open or he will be on our cream bedspread having just been outside in the rain digging holes..... Hardly dare look!!

    Morning all :)
It is sunny here :j though I don't know how long for...
    Today I have /will:
Wash hair and leave to dry naturally
Found a small tub of home grown apples and foraged blackberries in the freezer for breakfast fruit, for a change. There will be enough for several days :)
Updated freezer list to reflect that I have taken something out (wonder how long I will keep that up :rotfl:)
    Clean bathroom
    Hoover stairs
    Items to sales unit
Collect something I have bought on FB Marketplace. This is a business spend. No personal or household spending planned!
Lovely olive and herb bread made yesterday with cheese and tomatoes for lunch :)
Will make a chicken pie for dinner :)
Maybe some gardening, depending on the weather, which is looking less sunny as we speak :( I do wish it would warm up as I also have loads of plants needing to go out!

    Back later to update :)

I think it looks more impressive than it actually is! in 1.5hrs I have done the painting, cleaned painting items, tidied and cleaned kitchen including cleaning out cutlery drawer, bits of the dishwasher I ca pull out, put both the d/w & w/m on a cleaning cycle

the painting was only touching up edges around shelves we recently put in where the masking tape had pulled some of it off

    Good morning

Well, today is my birthday :bdaycake: and my mum and my hubby have given me lovely £££ to spend but no time for shopping this weekend.

    Today I will:

    * check bank and update spreadsheet
    * unfortunately use more fuel as my daughter is off school so an unscheduled trip to Grandmas before school run and then work
    * minimal spends today
    * breakfast, snacks and lunch from stores although I do need to replace the brown bread
    * charge phone at work
    * try to make use of lots of discount emails received today
    * check Onepoll and other sites more recently signed up

Again, can anyone tell me more about the Royal mail surveys please?

    Catch you all later
