Parliament did in the withdrawal bill.

Parliament is and always has been sovereign since it's creation. Parliament never voted to deliberately leave without a deal, they've rejected no deal twice already.

Mr Davis said: “If a democracy cannot change its mind, it ceases to be a democracy”.

So it would seem right they should at least have a chance to change their mind, which they are being prevented because of the prorogation.

English, German, French, Spanish, Dutch in that order of fluency.

Unless you’re a native Welsh or Gaelic speaker who struggles with written English, your nationality is highly relevant in a debate about the very future of the UK.

I agree the withdrawal agreement was bad for the UK. The ideal is to remain in the EU, as a no deal crash out is madness.

You only answer one question, what about the other ??

[STRIKE]how many languages do you speak ?[/STRIKE] What make you think you have the right to ask this question (What is your native language?) ?? Keep in min this is a MSE discussion forum and not a language test forum. Answer me first and if I am satisfied with your answer I will answer you.

Remain in the EU is no longer an option. People have voted to leave. The parliament have voted to trigger article 50. The current government just want to deliver the will of the People.

Many of them who currently shouted the loudest are those who voted to trigger article 50 when they still had the chance to reverse it.

Problem is they've also rejected a negotiated deal 3 times and couldn't actually pass an indicative vote that suggested what a majority would like.
I'm not saying the deal (WA) was brilliant - but if no deal is in their opinion so absolutely terrible - logically I would have thought voting for the one on offer would have been sensible.

Remain remains an option. Our choice has now been reduced to no deal and no brexit. No deal is not happening. Therefore we will not have brexit.

I wonder why someone who’s probably not British has such entrenched views on brexit. Perhaps you’re acting for some foreign power.

Or a BRINO deal is done. Which would respect the result of the referendum, while also accepting that what we want and what we need are not always in step.

Like how the "strong united Swiss" managed to negotiate with the EU.

Some of them voted for the WA and against no deal,I don't think you can put hand wave it as a binary decision either.

TM managed to get Parliament to vote on the WA three times, although us lowly serfs are only ever entitled one vote on anything. The current government want to destroy the country.

Democracy will win this in the end. All these Mps who swap parties and vote against what their constituencies voted for, better start looking for a new job!

The irony is that this was one of the key objectives of the Leave campaign; "Our laws should be made by people we can elect and kick out - that's more democratic." Of course as soon as our elected MPs do something Leavers don't like they are up in arms over it!

Yes this is a public forum so anyone can ask any question, no-one needs permission first. The fact that you refuse to answer certain questions puts you in the same boat as other posters such as AG47 and Crashy Time and seriously undermines your credibility.

I never understood the argument against the EU on democracy

Unlike in the Council of the European Union, where members are directly and indirectly elected, and the European Parliament, where members are directly elected, the Commissioners are proposed by the Council of the European Union, on the basis of suggestions made by the national governments, and then appointed by the European Council after the approval of the European Parliament.

Everyone is either directly or indirectly elected or proposed and approved by someone who is.

It's all just xenophobic propaganda. You only believe that the EU is undemocratic, if you want to believe it because you know "foreigners".

I didn't vote for the lords, the civil servants in whitehall, or the MP in any constituency in the UK (I got one vote and the candidate I wanted didn't get in), I also don't get to vote for the Prime Minister. Therefore by the same argument, the UK is also undemocratic.

Cummings plan coming along quite nicely.
The story will soon switch from Boris defeated in the Commons to the usual suspects kicking the can down the road again by asking for an extension.
The act of purging the Tory rebels thus making the BJ administration untenable will lead inevitably to a GE. A GE where Boris can point at all the rest of the parties and tell a Brexit weary public that I attempted to leave and Corbyn and the rest stopped me. The man is a genius.

That is an unnecessary statement leading to a nasty comment, sadly typical of some remainers who are supposed to be the ones welcoming migrants with open arms!
    :naughty:
FYI there are many British people who are born or who have lived for a long time outside the UK.

I'm not saying that this is the case for Adindas but it saddens me that - yet again - another remain poster questions the contributor and not the content of the post; well even though you're losing the debate please try to play the ball, not the man.
