Will Brexit happen?

It still doesn't explain why remain MPs don't simply vote to remain, it also doesn't explain why you wouldn't want to push them to cancel Brexit. Or like Corbyn, you don't give a fig about Brexit and want Comrade Corbyn in power?

People voted to throw a cup of tea into their laps. For some it needs to be boiling hot like they had in the war, others think the result could be satisfied with a lukewarm cup whilst the commonsense approach of not doing it all thwarts the will of the people.

MPs could decide to vote not to throw any tea in their laps but they'd lose. We could ask people if they want lukewarm tea or boiling hot tea but that would apparently be undemocratic.

The remain supporting MPs probably think that the decision has to be done democratically. IE, by another referendum.

Personally, I think it is much too late for that.

Boris should be allowed to have his no-deal & let's know the outcome for certain. Anything else will lead to people claiming that things would have been better & they have been robbed of their shining future.

If it all goes bad, Boris, the Tories & especially Farage have gone forever & we can get on with picking up the pieces & hoping the damage isn't permanent.
If it goes well, then congratulations, we never have to listen to an expert again.

Either way, it's yours. You own it & you will have got what you asked for.

I take the point and it's a valid point, but that doesn't mean we need to go down without fighting for principals.

I'm kinda wondering what would happen if the bill gets passed and then BJ wins a GM.

If Boris won a General Election, he could then validly claim he has been given a mandate for a No-Deal Brexit. That would let him off the hook because at the moment, there must be a good case for dereliction of duty if he ploughs ahead ignoring all the warnings, most of which have come from official Government studies.
As an aside, I wonder if anyone has considered the possibility of NI breaking away from the Union & then a few hundred thousand Protestant refugees claiming asylum on the mainland?

If he remained in the conservative party then he wouldn't be able to stand as Boris is about to deselect him. The brave MPs standing up to the undemocratic PM will long be held to be heros
You're having a laugh - his constituents voted to leave, the country voted to leave and he does all he can to thwart their votes, eventually by defecting to a party whose motto is the equivalent of "B@llocks to democracy" !

Those traitorous undemocratic MP's will be remembered all right, certainly not as heroes but as traitors who did all they could to sell their country out to the EU.

There's no "if", the suggestions have already been made of a Tory/Brexit Party coalition which would very probably be the next government the way things are looking and there would be no case for dereliction of duty if the economy continues to grow or if it compares to the EU's.

You're dreaming if you really think that the Northern Irish Protestants would allow a united Ireland (which is basically what you're saying) - and what happened to the remainer febrile faux-concern about the GFA when you dreamed of that plan?

This is what I find annoying he is now representing a party that got 7.5% in last GE after winning 58.8% of votes for a strong leave supporting party.

It’s more likely to be a few hundred thousand Catholics making a mad dash for Kilburn and Camden town. A long established tradition.

They are welcome to him, it's more interesting to see how someone so hated by the LGBT community is allowed in the Lib Dems.

The last but oneliberal leader wasn’t particularly loved by homosexuals.
