I thought it should be blatantly obvious for everyone to see that there is no good outcome to any Brexit. Blind patriotism is killing this country. My prediction, there will be a ballot of some kind and the "will of the British people" will be the most catastrophic on offer. I just hope we leave with a get out clause that says we can re-join on current terms within 8 years or something.

Imagine how hilarious this would be.

We leave with a "managed (unicorn) no-deal" on 31 Oct 19 with a transition phase to 31 Dec 19.

But we hold a new (not a 2nd) referendum on 1 Nov 19 " should be join the EU". Imagine if we voted Yes and re-joined on the 1 Jan 20.

Brexit will have been delivered would it not. Honour has been restored.

Edit: When I say hilarious I mean gut wrenching

Many of us are descended from immigrants. ;)

We all are, if you look back far enough.

There are also plenty of examples of bad behavior from natives. As mentioned, corporal punishment was only completely abolished in the UK in 2003! (private schools in NI), and was regarded as completely acceptable for long enough.

Totally agree. There is some power or influence driving this, as most people with any intelligence can see that a NO DEAL is the worst possible scenario.

Yet Boris Johnson and others are falling over themselves to be the best deliverers of NO DEAL ever. I do realise that is projected at the MPs in order to first and second them, but honestly. I wonder if they believe it at all.

Three + years down the line now and nothing has been decided. Nothing.

Does anyone realistically think that the next Tory PM will achieve anything? Same ole, same ole.

Oh and whilst I am on a rant, the Tory membership will deliver the will of the people by deciding between two possible incumbents now. To lead us. That is just so democratic for the people isn't it?

I despair sometimes. But often I am upbeat!

They could be pushing for a no deal to appease the right wing, whilst desperately hoping for it to be shot down. It's impossible to tell what's actually going on.

They don’t have to appease anyone, because the bulk of the party is right wing (your words).
Whoever wins is going to have a mandate and an obligation from their party to carry out exactly what they say they will. The idea that they are going to perform some massive u turn five minutes after being elected is real fantasy land.

It's possible but we wouldn't get back in on the same advantageous terms that we have now.

We would have gone through all this turmoil & division just to end up worse off than we are now.

Mind you, if you think about it, that's what we're doing anyway.

Boris thinks the Tory party will be destroyed if they don't deliver Brexit. What's really stupid is that he thinks he can save his party by......tanking the economy. Possibly causing one of the biggest recessions since.....well we have yet to find out...

    Go figure?!

Tax cuts for high earners. What a joke. We'll all be paying more tax for the Tory No Deal recession.

During his speech yesterday he said there will be "bumps in the road",
I'm sure that will come back to haunt him.

    A Pyrrhic Victory Indeed.

When we have the televised debates, I hope someone asks the "Leave on 31 Oct at all costs" candidates what they will do if it doesn't happen. Specifically, will they resign on 1 Nov?

The only acceptable answers are Yes or No...
