Muelle de brighton?
Maybe it is the heat that is making us all have strange dreams.

I thought it was just me! I've been having the most bizarre dreams for weeks now - sometimes waking up in an absolute panic. I thought it must be something I was eating but couldn't figure out what. Himself thought I was worrying about something. Must be the heat!Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0

Himself and I had a short walk today. There's a big football match on here today so not the best day to be wandering about.
Got tomorrow's dinner in the slow cooker and just about to put tonight's in the oven. Freezer is really full to bursting.
On the child front, I seem to have made some sort of connection with the one I had a real go at last week. He has now started to come to talk to me (about school and the things he likes) and is so much better behaved. We're working on why it is not necessary to swear. It obviously has had some kind of knock on effect because he and his friend keep asking to water my plants and are tidying up after themselves. My bin is full. Himself said to me that one of his old teachers said children just need to know the rules and know where they are. Maybe it's just that and a bit of encouragement in this case. Possibly giving them a little bit of responsibility helps. The problem is when the once who are a bigger egg them on to do things they shouldn't but I'm working on that.
So, I've had a nice day. Hope all is well with you.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
Was a spend day.
Informed the man who came round to do the odd job in the flat that my Mum passed away. He had met my Mum as he did jobs in the flat previously. He saw that I had painting and new carpet done in the flat and asked me if I was moving. Told him that I was planning to.
Sent off Mass intentions with donations to the Priory where I have been before. I get the Priory newsletter every few months.
Grateful for:
Having the last bit of work done in the flat that was needed to be done.
Hairdresser coming round to cut hair.
Went to parkrun. Walked it.
Having a chilled out day.Frugal Living Challenge 2025 Mortgage free as of 1st August 20130 -
Ooh, Kerry - does that mean you've finished all the jobs in the flat? That'll bring moving so much closer - well done.
Today I'm grateful for yet more library books, for unravelling a jumper with dd and she wound up the wool, for dd's cold being so much better, for a bodyweight workout, for birdsong, for a better night's sleep, for 85% chocolate, for a peaceful day.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Thankful for family - one of my cousin's got married yesterday (fab match to their new partner - very well suited) so it was a chance to catch up with family
Also thankful for an aunt donating her unwanted phone to one of my children - pesky child has managed to smash tablet screen and iPhone screen this week! :grr: And also thankful for finding a dress for another wedding for <£20 in M&S sale!!!! :T I do need a fascinator - all of mine are too dark in colour - but our local CS shop has a shelf of new ones in various colours in for £5, so I shall have a look in there (otherwise I shall see if my mum has one in an acceptable colour) (dress is much paler than my usual style) Oooh - also thankful for cheap bar prices at wedding do!
(£7.50 for a pint and a very large vodka tonic!) (although I did only have 1 drink last night - too tired to want to drink much and not a fan of fizzy soft drinks)
Today = some housework and some homework and hopefully also something more fun for everyone!

Morning all
You lot and your dreams:rotfl:, f0xh0les, Piers Morgan of all people, yuk, I hate the smarmy creep. Also what is the 'heat' you are all speaking of? We're not getting it.
I'm off work this coming week and it is really bad timing as far as my job goes, I won't bore you with the details but I have decided that temporary contracts are not for me, it is too hard getting to know people and learning a new job and then having to leave and start all over again somewhere else, a week here and there isn't too bad but the longer term ones are where the problems arise.
Small spends yesterday. Not sure what today's plans are as it is raining at the moment.
DD got back from her D of E on Friday and could barely walk, she had carried the Trangia in her bag, all her kit and roll mat and strapped to the top of her bag was a 3 man tent, she should have stood up for herself about carrying that for 6 hours on Thursday and the same on Friday. This was a practice so we are buying her a tiny one man tent for the actual expedition and the other girls can carry their own tent.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Oh Dolly! Well, the DoE teaches them things they do not learn in the classroom. Good on DD, she now knows she will breeze the real one when not laden down like the pack donkey - my son did his last year, and one carried the poles, one carried the tent fabric and one carried the stove, if I remember rightly, and each took their own fuel squares. What was the responsible adult doing letting her carry all that?
Today here it is 18 degrees and raining. Even the rain is warm! I have been floating around in dresses for the last week (just caught a glimpse of myself as I was opening the door in my blue dress, and realised it was fine for indoors, but with sunlight, it was totally see through - I will have to buy a slip (how 1940's!) I don't even know where to go to buy a slip! Anyway, was glad I caught it in time! Could have been embarrassing at the school gates.
Accidentally made blueberry muffins and scones this morning. Did not plan on the muffins, but the blueb's needed turning into something and DS3 was lurking, so roped him in on the act.
Laughing at all the politicians who have instantly developed a tan before declaring their leadership bids.
Gratitudes:
A freezer full of tropical fruits
I still love my DH
