I would go with the quote you have.
Hope you have a good day.
Thanks Beanie. I think the job is a third more expensive than it should be and VAT will be added as not sole traders. That said, I think I might just to get it done so I can move onto another job.

  • Motivation feeling difficult and poor eating for a few days, but kicked into touch today. I’ve been quite social lately and that has involved lots (for me) of alcohol. This leads to poor eating and low mood. I really like drinking, but my body (and probably my mind) do not like it. :(

The squirrels have been back for at least a week but I have preferred denial to taking action. :o Not sure why. Anyway text sent to squirrel man in the middle of the night so that FROG has been dealt with. ;)

I already texted the builder saying I will call him this week to ask a few questions re the estimate. I am thinking about whether to do the fascias in UPVC or replace the wood. Any thoughts anyone? The wood will look much nicer but will be harder to maintain…That said I should be making my move in the next year or two so kerb appeal might be more important. I will make this action tomorrow’s FROG.

Decision on the plumber will be tomorrow’s FROG too.

Going to visit a potential working space this afternoon.

Grateful for: resilience, a dry day, and free exhibitions.

  • If you're happy with the Plummer ( apart from the extra cost) , it seems it's probably best to go with him . With the cold winter months , Christmas holiday etc trying to find someone else may be more difficult .
The squirrels : as well as getting the squirrel man back , have you thought of getting a sonic repellant that you plug into the wall?
I have one ,and it seems to do a fairly good job . If you do get one , get one that doesn't affect dogs, cats and birds .

Whoever does the facials may find a whole where squirrels may be getting into. As for which type of fascias , upvc seems the logical choice. Then Again , maybe have a look at the neighbours houses?

You still have plenty of resilience DIA , even if the alcohol makes you unwell at times. That happens to all of us :)

I'd lean towards UPVC too for longevity. However, if you are planning on moving, I'd go with the cheapest.

Thanks AC :) I already use the sonic and it worked for along time but they are back. The only real answer is getting the fascias done so they cannot get in. It is looking like UPVC might be the answer.

I think UPVC is cheapest option so that may be the best thing. Thanks jwil :)

  • So yesterday I found a great place to work. :T It is a short bus ride away and I worked really well there. There is plenty of space and I can take my lunch and a flask too, so it will be MSE :money:

There is a college next door to the new work place so I have booked a few much needed beauty treatments at heavily discounted prices :money:

It should be possible to work out, go straight to the working space from the gym, eat a (packed) breakfast there, work, eat a (packed) lunch, work and come home to a prepped supper. That is what I am aiming for. It should be possible. ;)

I cleared over 200 fallen apples in my garden waste after watching a squirrel sitting on my lawn eating an apple. I might not be able to get them out of the loft but I’ll be damned if I am providing them with their 5 a day! ;)

Still stalling on the house frogs…but I do feel something has shifted so feeling positive :)

Absolutely agree with this. We have a 3 year move plan which has changed all house decisions

Great that you've found somewhere to work!

  • UPVC is usually cheaper and many people prefer it because it needs less maintenance. I hope you can squirrel proof your home soon.

Good news that you've found somewhere to work for free :).
