I am going to the gym in the evening today as I have trades people coming to quote this morning and then I have the dentist. The first tradespeople have come and gone and I am waiting for the second lot. It is much, much, better in the morning and I had NO NERVES AT ALL. Good news is this tradesman has said he can do the roofing work with ladders so no scaffolding cost. The side gate needs replacing as it makes the house look vulnerable so he will be quoting for that too.

For the second time a tradesperson has pointed out I have no door number. I need to get that sorted as it something I have forgotten needs doing. A new door too. Where will it all end?

Wishing you all a positive start to the week :)

  • 1.5 hours of walking yesterday and enjoyed it. Starting to feel more energised :)

My veg box scheme contacted me and offered me extra veggies and apologised for this week so I chickened out and agreed to stay. I’m a sucker for an apology and they do great work with disadvantaged groups.

My trip to the dentist yesterday cost me £84. I have used this dentist for 5 years and I have consistently been given the all clear. I used to have a terror of the dentist but now I see it as self care and look forward to it (almost) I used to get some financial help from work for my dentist treatments. That is now gone so I have decreased the frequency of my appointments slightly to make up for this.

One of my tradesmen did not come. I have been given an electrician’s details so I will call and make an appointment for early morning and ideally on Saturday.

Wishing you all a positive day :)

You are eating frogs all over the place DIA - well done. Shame about the tradesman, but better you find out his/ her unreliability now rather than when they don't turn up to finish a half-done job.

Glad the walking is helping your energy levels - I'm finding super lethargic so i know i need to move more, drink more water and when working i need to play some loud music. It's the thing that gets me going the most so I'm seeing that as my productivity saviour :)

I also have the dentist (tomorrow) and it will set me back £65 but again, worth it to look after the gnashers. Hopefully now you've spent the money on them, that'll be them sorted for quite a while.

    Have a lovely day!

Thanks for the encouragement Homegrown0 :)

I am back from my mini break. A few days by the seaside, one of the days with company the other by myself. It was nice but I spent more than I would have liked again. It is hard adjusting to a new budget but I will keep trying. It is like weight loss, I have to think where I might be if I was not trying!

Tomorrow I am meeting a friend to see an exhibition but I think I will let her see it and meet her for coffee after as I am not desperate to see it, I’ve seen a lot lately, and it is expensive so I will avoid. I will also travel off peak to save costs.

The new month’s budget is almost upon me and this month (despite it being Christmas) I will do better. I know you have heard it before, but I mean it. I’ve tried joining challenges but I tend to fizzle out :o so I will use this diary to keep track instead.

One of the things I found useful on NST challenge was gratitude. It is something INOD does without fail too and I am going to start adding daily gratitudes as it helps keep things in perspective. ;)

I need to keep the momentum up on quotes so I have a plumber coming to quote on Saturday morning. :T

Today I am grateful for a lovely deep bath at the hotel last night, my own bed and pillows tonight, and finding eggs in the fridge when i got home :)

Good that you got some time away to relax. What's the story on the eggs?

  • If MSE is a game of snakes and ladders I went down a snake last week when the tax office said I can’t have any overpaid tax yet.:( I will get it in April. I could have done with it now but hey ho it will come in the end.

I am off to a free exhibition today. I will be taking a lunchbox and a coffee flask with me and timing my trip for off peak travel. This will save me at least £15 so is worth doing. :money:

The house is relatively organised. Even I am surprised.

The plumber due on Saturday did not turn up. I am tempted to go with the quote I have as they seem organised. It is a bit pricey but getting the work done will make such a difference to my state of mind. To finish the year with another job under my belt will be fab. We will see...

I am trying the gym in the evening today

I am trying again to perfect poached eggs. Eggs work better for me than cereal or toast and sweet stuff. I eat better and stay fuller when I start the day with eggs but fried eggs daily are not so good. Anyway the poached eggs came out a bit too runny but I will persevere.

Grateful for: time to sit down to eat a proper breakfast, spending time with good friends, the shower at the gym :)

Wishing us all a positive week.
