Soolin: maybe he'd forgotten and got things mixed up? I got a 4 from someone who when I asked why a 4 told me she couldn't remember if it had been quick delivery and couldn't find what it was described as and it only came in an "envelope" not wrapped in cardboard as Amazon did. I gave up at that point - but have had several withdrawn when they realised they had me mixed up with someone else who wasn't so good!

The next copy is only acceptable and at almost £50 is £25 dearer than mine, I'd love to tell him to return mine for a full refund and buy that one instead. I won't of course as sales are a bit sparse at the moment.

heh! Sounds like a lesson in not undercutting by so much! :D
    ;)
    Happy Birthday by the way!

It was one of my very first books listed so had probably been listed for about 2 years. It also had no ranking so I was just pleased to see it go.

  • Don't lose hope wilf!

I've had a box of huge paperbacks (over 1kilo each) sitting around for over a year. I refused to price them less than a fiver even though I could have profited from selling lower due to a PPI account keeping my postage costs down. Yesterday I received an order for 5 of them (you only get 12 in a box!) from the same person! No mention of a bulk discount or asking for freebies, so they're boxed up and awaiting a courier today!
Even though I was becoming convinced these books wouldn't sell it's great to get a bulk order after they have been sitting around for over a year!

I'm panicking..I've lost a book. I phoned my OH as it was one of his original stock we listed when I first started and he like me is sure it was sold via Amazon months as soon as it was listed.

Trouble is before I went pro I kept only the minimum records, so can't even check. I'm turning the storage sheds upside down, the house is even more of a tip than usual as I am just emptying everything out.

If it were a cheap book, or easily replaceable from another seller I wouldn't worry as I could have it drop shipped at little extra cost to me. This one though is not in stock anywhere else so will look very suspicious when I say it's lost.

Panic panic..I can feel a headache starting.

  • Sorry if this has been asked somewhere before, but I've just sold my first DVD on Amazon tonight. What do most people do for packaging of books and DVDs and are there any suggestions for cheap supplies? Thanks.

I put all my items in a ploythene bag with the packing slip. Then I use brand new jiffy bags for protection.

I usually buy my jiffy bags in the pound shop or 99p shop in batches of 10. However due to the number of books i now sell I did just buy 6 boxes of 100 from Viking which worled out marginally cheaper.

I hope you used one of the buy 2 get one free codes Soolin! They do these offers regularly meaning the price per bubble envelope is about 6p, which works out about 40% less than the pound shop ones!

    Tiger,
I use mail-lite C/0's for DVD's, though if it's a larger case or double set, they won't fit. The C/0 is quite a snug fit though I have sent a few hundred using this method and not had a single problem with them as a result.
