    Morning folks

Dawn - sorry to hear you need an op but hopefully it means you'll feel much better afterwards x

Fil will be in hospital for a while longer yet but improving so that's good. I spent all day there cooking on Friday. Did our shopping and batch cooking at the same time.

Yesterday I was at home all day. Pottered about in the garden, sowed more seeds, bit more cooking and swallowed a very old frog! I put together a patchwork blanket about 16 years ago and for some reason only blanket stitched 3 sides. I finally finished it :o

    Today's mission:
    • B/L/D from stores - done
    • Charge phone in work - done
    • Washing pegged out - done
    • Make some peppermint creams using lo fondant that was frozen (ty Foxgloves). Fondant was frozen as tried to colour it and it went a horrible muddy brown. Need the freezer space though.
    • Crochet bits to sell - done
    • Take some pics of new crochet blanket to put on FB
    • Check PMP - not a winner today
    • No alcohol - done
    • Bit of overtime :money: - done

Will add more if I think of it

    Love to all

  • Hi again, got SB bonus so looks like points are worth at least £10 in vouchers! Was a bit glum about it as keep getting rejected from surveys and earning 1 x SB for my effort! So I will persevere with SB
Friend wants to eat lunch out so not a NSD today. Will choose a low cost and healthy option and enjoy the free lift and the fresh air :)

    Hello
Well I have had a lovely couple of days. Friday was very busy, but school is now out for a couple of weeks. Met with my sister after school and she took me to her usual place for me to get my daith pierced. I had one done almost 2 years ago for migraines but it's never properly healed, so decided to get the other one done - then I can take the first one out if need be.
Had a complete day off yesterday, catching up with bestie and my sister, which was lovely, and then woke up today ready to start tackling the mountain of jobs I need to do while I'm off work.
I need to sort out food - my spends are getting ridiculous here and there are loads of things in the house - that will be ongoing over the weeks ahead.
Have also made a start on decluttering. It already looks and feels a lot better...
Dawn - sorry that you're going to need an op. Hope you're not waiting too long.

Lovely to hear you sounding so upbeat, CCL. Glad you've got the school holidays to enjoy.
Dawn - Sorry to hear you need an op. Having narrowly avoided a big surgery myself last year, I know what a worry & a disruption it can be.
    Hi to everyone else,
Massively busy day cleaning our old family home. Money saving bits as follows:
*Forgot to pay B-in-L for our sandwiches & crisps. Will bake something for next time I see them, to restore our honour.
*Took own coffee supplies rather than trekking out to coffee shop.
*Took cuttings of many of Mum's plants. She had a lovely garden & some of those planty memories can live on in ours.
*Shook off takeaway temptation when we got in.
*Two baths from one lot of hot water.
*Pegged a load of towels out 1st thing & despite rain, they are almost dry. Will peg out & finish tomorrow rather than pay for heated airer use.
    *Make packed lunch.
    *Update my DFW diary.
*Managed to tempt cat indoors earlier just as Thug Cat rocked up on our street. I should think he's responsible for loads of vet visits due to his unneutered male aggression. Our lad is no angel & is a big cat, but he's not a match for Thug Cat. Nothing a couple of judicious snips wouldn't cure. Grrrr.
Anyway, here's hoping I can stay awake for 'Line of Duty' - am soooo shattered today.
Hope to have my bounce back tomorrow.

Morning all. Lovely, sunny and warm today. As it's over freezing (15 degrees already :j) and not raining for once, i expect every one will have the BBQ's out later. There's a reason there are so many lakes in the lake district :rotfl:

A bit hit and miss with posting here lately. Rest assured, the DFW stuff is happening. Been logging in my diary and forgetting to post here. Still reading all of your posts and picking up tips though. I

    Today:

Take car for service - budgeted for, no CC this year :T
Take DC for McD - followed Martin's tips about surveys to get reduced meals and have a couple of free drinks from the monopoly game that I got given. Should be around £4 for the 3 of us :money: not bad for a half term treat.
Take DS bike shopping - his (3rd hand one) fell to bits and he has saved his xmas and birthday cash, so again, no need for credit OR for mam and dad to pay. Good work son! So proud, but also slightly worrying that he's growing up too fast and can already pay for his own stuff :( (doing better at budgeting at 9 than his ol' fella did at 29:rotfl:)
Round of golf later - discounted as it's a late tee time (50% off). Not strictly DFW, although it's out of the fun budget and it's 50% reduced. £15 for 4 hours of entertainment in stunning scenery, with the sea on one side and the fells on the other. I think I can stretch to that :T

All in all, should cost around £19 of my fun budget today. Everything else already has the cash set aside.
    Have a great day all

  • Morning all.

Big news today is, I have a travel date! So now I know when I get to go home.

Car went in for service last week - since DW took it in, the mechanics tried it on, as they're apt to, and tried to sting her for a very large number (north of £500) just for brake pads. I think they might have learned some new and colourful language, and I have a job to do when I get home :rotfl:

Currently looking at ways to make the emergengy fund earn its keep. I'm thinking of cycling it through a couple of regular saver accounts (HSBC and FD), as it's still accessible, even at the cost of interest if I need to call on it.
