Many thanks for starting the thread PF
I have been reading along when I can but RL has been getting in the way.
I now have a date for going into hospital for tests. What a waste of everyone's time, resources and money. Everything was done last year but bec of the health board messing everyone about and a deterioration in my health everything has to be repeated plus extra tests to be on the safe side
While the signal isn't great I will be still following and reading along when I go in just to hear the latest adventures of foxgloves cat
Meanwhile
Have April spends in my spends book up and running
While at the garden centre on Sunday picking up a couple of presents for DM for mothers day I picked up a reduced piece of stewing steak in the farm shop that has been turned into a casserole with loads of bendy veggies.
Quidco checked
Banking checked-everything good
Checked a savings policy I have- very positive
Still haven't completed nightmare frog-planning on finishing tonight
Have been locked out of RM surveys bec of forgetting password-have messaged 3 times now
DD is back home next week-hoping to get more slow cooker meals in the freezer for us both-chilli being the favourite!
Decluttering has come to a halt-need to get started again
Heating is back onits freezing here
That's about it from me. Hope everyone is doing okayDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I'm struggling with small things at the minute. I'm end-of-term exhausted, but only 2 more get ups. I'm just trying to keep going at the moment then I'll get on with doing some stuff once I've finished at work for the hols. I've swallowed a couple of large frogs though so am at least getting some stuff done. One home one and one work one...
Plans for the hols are to lie in as late as possible and get a big to-do list tackled. Plans for the next 2 days are to survive. Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Evening all
Just caught up with everyone's news
Swallowed a great big annual frog and did the stocktaking for my little business over the last couple of days :T meaning that not much else has been accomplished!
The positive aspect is that I haven't spent anything at all (was going to say I haven't spent a penny but that could be misconstrued :rotfl:) so far in April
I will need to do a small shop tomorrow though.
Babysat for DD this afternoon, so with stocktaking and babysitting I haven't really managed anything else. And I am getting yet another cold as well
Hope to be back on it again tomorrow though!0 -
Evening everyone, quite spendy here with DD2 home from uni so spending more on food plus she had her hair cut and I had to order her some more contact lenses. Have managed breakfast and lunch from stores, done a couple of surveys and heating only on for a couple of hours in the evening. Deni xLBM - October 2018; finally debt free on 16 March 2021

Morning all :hello: happy kitties hope the tests and things go ok. Dawn hope the cold passes quickly
DNMS I would definitely recommend bulb if you are looking to switch. All green energy and very competitive. If you're interested I've got a referral code that means we'll both get £50.
Our bills have gone down £20 a month since we switched.
My list for today:
Frog form filling
Plan something for tea
Will likely need a small shop, will go to L1dl to see if they have a bargain veg box
Track food, definitely helping in lots of ways. Can already get in 2 pairs of jeans I couldn't before. They're still a bit too snug to be going out anywhere in, but at least I can do them up
Order some sausages online
Reconciled banks and just for points credit card
Paid interest over to savings post
Possibly dye hair tonight at home if I have time
Buy and soak some chickpeas. Will have to go to a different supermarket as neither of the two I will go past today stock them
Pegged some washing out
Have a good day all. Purps.0 -
Morning all,
Well, the weather has rather scuppered my gardening plans today. Blue sky & reasonable sunshine first thing so decamped to greenhouse ready to pot up some tender veg babies - cukes, aubergines, etc, but naturally the sun disappeared, a freezing wind got up & I have had to come in & leave it until tomorrow. Too much of a shock to pot up fussy plants on such a cold day. Frugal stuff for today:
*Absolutely REFUSE to serve cat up another breakfast. mr f bought him the variety on offer this week, & it is not what he was hoping for at all. A bit of reluctant nibbling, looking at me piteously & sticking his head in the bloody fridge every time I open it. He's now filling up on biscuits because I'm such a horrible Meowmy.
*Use-it-ups today - cucumber, last of a bag of pumpkin seeds for my morning snack, last of a box of muesli (the interesting bits) gone in a snack pot for mr f's pack-up tomorrow (uninteresting bits being scoffed by blackbirds as I type), old eye shadow dug out to finish off & a lippy before I treat myself to some new spring colours.
*Easy cheap meal tonight - some of the spicy chickpea burgers I batch cooked a while back, in home made cobs with a big salad.
*Do next week's meal plans.
*Mix up sourdough loaf for baking tomorrow.
*Checked seedlings.
*Potted up a large tray of baby delphiniums grown from free seed. They won't be big enough to flower until next year, but there are enough to make a real impact in my flower borders when they do.
*Did a survey.
*Make tomorrow's packed lunch - easy peazy as the Man HImself has said he's taking a portion of Epic Man Stew (apparently this one is called 'The Mega Stew'.........no, me neither.....) from the freezer.
*No downstairs heating on until tonight. I aim not to be using it at all in April, so hopefully this cold weather will soon pass.
*Hang up the clothes I've mended/altered over the last couple of days.
*Knit a bit more of my current stash busting project.
*Replace rest of my gardening jobs with indoor task - intend to continue my ongoing HQ clear-out, which will also involve......
*.......tackling the Shredding Mountain. Charity bags at the ready to fill with shreddings & take down to shed ready to add in to compost bins/use for free bedding in the worm composter.
*Update my DFW diary.
I think that will be it for today, unless the afternoon suddenly warms up & those urgent greenhouse jobs become possible.
Cheers all,
F x
P.S Stern talking to obviously worked, as while I've been typing this, Cat has caved in & eaten half of his breakfast meat. Yay, fishy result!! x2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever

Morning all,
It was snowing when we got up (unfortunately as far as the kids were concerned there was no chance of a snow day at home! ) Its cleared up now but feels much colder then the last couple of weeks.
Dawn, I hope you're feeling better, my families colds/coughs seem to have really lingered this time.
Foxgloves, your cat makes me laugh!
HK, I hope the tests go as well as they can.
 to everyone
Todays list
* ys bread from the freezer to go with kids scrambled eggs for breakfast as usual
* gym session done and refilled water bottle there twice
* brunch was some pasta/veg sauce left over from last night
* dishwasher run on the quick wash
* all sockets switched off that aren't in use - I don't need to see the time on the microwave or the oven! (well its the small things isn't it! )
* banking checked - nothing to update, really glad I changed lots of dd's around the other month as it makes it much easier updating my cashbook these days.
Still to do
** triage fridge, I think some peppers may need dicing and freezing
** rethink tonights meal as we now have 2 extra mouths to feed tonight
** check cupboards and update shopping list as the tins are looking quite lonely in there! (I never used to have less then about 20 tins of tinned tomatoes in the cupboard - just in case, I'm much better these days and don't bulk buy so much - but when I am down to one tin I get a bit twitchy! )
** as the weather is rubbish which messed up my gardening plans too, I think i'll go through our wardrobes and get those straightened up instead.
** make families lunches for tomorrow
** share bath water, let hair dry naturally as usual and continue using up lotions and potions
I might be back to update more later but I'll see as I'm trying to reduce time I spend on tech at the minute.
Take care all.

Seconding bulb, I've found them really good - we've used them for a couple of years over two houses - had one issue with a move-out bill but didn't have to fight with them over it, one call and all sorted out. It's worth nabbing a referral code if it's offered! Not going to step on Purps' toes though
Yesterday was quite successful:
- take car to garage - hopefully they will fix it and I won't be going car shopping this weekend (OH is quite keen on going car shopping, I can't think of many worse ways to choose to spend my weekend) - Done! They found the problem! It's a rather expensive fix but I have saved up enough money in my "car/bike pot" so I can cover it, and the car tax that's due 1st May. Feeling really pleased with myself for this rather basic bit of budgeting! Just got to hope for no more problems until about October...
- all meals and snacks from stores - Done!
- rebook dentist check up I had to cancel - Tried, was on hold for ages before I had to go and tried emailing too, no joy so far
- sort out the clean laundry - half done
- walk dog for free exercise (dog needs it too, he is a little over his ideal weight) - Done!
- submit meter readings - Done!
Today's list:
- bike to work AM at least (in the rain :rotfl:)
- gym AM to use membership
- all meals and snacks from stores - use up soya yoghurt
- try again with the dentist
- 2nd bag of clean laundry
- walk dog
Have a good rest of the day all0
