Been leaking unexpected money on things like vets and insurance rises etc, so even though I lived really frugally for the entire month of March I was way over budget and got a bit down about it. Trying to perk up and make little steps in the right direction but finding motivation hard today.

    Dried washing on radiator airer
Had lunch from leftovers in the fridge
Made cleaning spray from dettol and water
Did big online shop of own brand tinned things I can make cheap meals from
Cleared out a load of stuff for the charity shop

Try not to feel too bad - you would have been more over budget if you'd not been frugal :)

Hi all, Thanks Pf for this weeks thread.
Sorry I've not caught up on everyones news, hope everyone is well.
Its been a stressful week or so but I've missed you lot so I'm back and am going to try and focus on the positives and the things that I do have control over.

    Today I've
:grinheart Checked banking/ closed off March and set up Aprils spreadsheet
:grinheart Been to the gym and refilled water bottle there twice - this weeks reminded me that I need to take care of myself so that I can look after others
:grinheart Washed a load on the quick 30 degree wash (didn't get it hung out unfortunately but its not cold enough for radiators tonight so will leave and hang out tomorrow)
:grinheart Triaged fridge, was able to send my parents home with some salad and chicken for their tea and have made a curry to use up some veggies, chicken and added in a simplyco0k spice mix my dad gave us a while ago (only have about 4 left now I think) Also peeled and used my mini chopper (I love this little gadget!) to blitz some carrots that were on their way off (have frozen a bag of blitzed carrot that I will stick in a stew or soup another day)
:grinheart Taken food out of the freezer ready for making meals tomorrow - lack of organisation last week meant the food budget was nearly double our normal spend (and we didn't eat very well either! )
:grinheart Cleaned the inside of the conservatory including washing the windows, it was so nice and warm in there even though the weather outside wasn't great it did lift my mood - cleaned using stardrops/water solution and washable clothes
:grinheart Made families lunchbags up for school/work tomorrow

    Still need to
 make a list of a couple of frogs I need to deal with tomorrow morning
 wipe down the kitchen once we've eaten (trying to get into the habit of all eating together - I've usually sat with the kids whilst they eat and then dh and I eat later as he's often home after 7pm but will be so much better to all eat together - just need to tweak the boys after school snack I think to tide them over!)

    I think thats it.

    Take care all.

Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

    Tomorrows plan:
•Work all day so enjoy plenty of free tea :money:
    •tidy up bathroom and kitchen
•still undecided on tea prob sc bolognese as nice and easy as i have an appointment after school run
•going to get some board games out to play with dd tomorrow evening for an hour,it always goes down well in our house
•phone energy supplier to chase up the timescale on a complain (this is going to be a long time i can feel it)

That is all so far as midweeks are quite quiet in our house so i will enjoy it whilst it lasts lol:rotfl:i am going to have a cuppa and chill once ny dinner is done for work tomorrow :o

Thanks Ally! I was grouchy about not being able to cancel it from the phone app, and having to - egads! - open my laptop at home to do it. I was then very annoyed when I next opened the phone app to find a huge and quite misleading screen trying to get me to click the button to authorise them to take the money after all. Sneaky beggars

Right, on to other moneysaving matters.

    Yesterday's list:
    - gym AM to make good use of the luxurious membership - Done!
    - all meals and snacks from stores - Done!
    - cancel spotify trial DONE! Despite their efforts.
    - put birthday card in post - Done!
    - review heating. I was cold last night tbh. - Not done, definitely putting this off :o
    - fold and put away clean clothes currently languishing in big blue ikea bags - Errr not done either

    Today's list:
    - take car to garage - hopefully they will fix it and I won't be going car shopping this weekend (OH is quite keen on going car shopping, I can't think of many worse ways to choose to spend my weekend)
    - all meals and snacks from stores
    - rebook dentist check up I had to cancel
    - sort out the clean laundry
    - walk dog for free exercise (dog needs it too, he is a little over his ideal weight :o)
    - submit meter readings

Have a good day everyone :)
