CLF, do you view the thread through the old or the new version? Sounds like a CSS fail, maybe. Have been unable to replicate your problem to look for a fix.
Maybe post on the Forum help thread to ask MSE Andrea for a fix. (Link)
I've tried both and with different browsers. Def only happened since work upgraded my hard drive though. *sigh*LBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.310 -

Hi all :hello: Hope all are doing OK
Not been feeling terribly frugal lately, money seems to be leaking everywhere
Still, I have done a meal plan and off to ald! tonight, what larks.
Been listening to free podcasts for entertainment so that's something. Got to get back into the swing of things urgently... This week is birthdays and brown bin fees and vet visits and garage visits so it all adds up... need those small things more than ever.
Things I need to do:
- cancel spotify premium trial (harder than it sounds)
- cut back on the heating again
- stick to the ald! list tonight
- post 1x birthday card today so I can use existing 2nd class stamp
Best of luck all with a frugal week0 -
Hello
Another busy start to the week, but thankfully on the countdown to the Easter hols now
Full day of teaching, babysat my niece, viewed a house with my sister and went out for dinner with the kids - belated birthday dinner as I didn't fancy battling the Mother's Day crowds yesterday. I've barely had time to think...
Couple of frogs rearing their heads that I can't leave any longer. I have a form that urgently needs to go back to my solicitors but I need to complete and attach a budget. It's taken blimming ages. Plus I can't leave the Year 10 exam writing for much longer either...
Other than that, just the usual stuff - work, cats, kids...Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Since my working week starts on a Saturday, the worst is already over. Just today, tomorrow and Thursday to go until glorious, wonderful sleep! Plus home soon (hopefully), and no CC to pay, so I should be ecstatic.
I'm not. I'm in a foul mood.
I'm not going to write a long rant, but at its root, the family's expectations of what my single income can achieve, and what my forecasts of what I can actually achieve assuming a perfect world are vastly different.
The mood will pass, eventually. Onwards!0 -
Morning everyone
today am planning on just pleasing myself - until I pick madam up at 4.15 that is
yesterday I picked up one of the f&v boxes Lidl are doing for £1.50. I was really impressed with it! 8 pears, 6 apples, 2 packs of baby parsnips, 3 baby cucs, 2 very over ripe avocados (one I made in to a batch of brownies), a small cabbage, a head of broccoli and a large onion! Definitely worth investigating if you have a Lidl near!
I am going to make some pear muffins later on
Have a joint of ys beef that my ds gave me - he's moving house and gave it to me! - which I'll put in the pc with some ys casserole veg that's sat in the freezer and we'll have with lo mash & veg from yesterday
Will walk down the the alloment for more digging. Am happy with my progress. Got my potatoes in last weekPlanning to continue digging the half I am currently working on them putting ground cover down on it for the year and planting 2 BNS plants through the cover
need to pay cc today - must not forget!
Do some sewing - am making a top
Do energy search and change suppliers. I'm with outfox the market and they keep putting our price. This month they took double!
I have a carpenter round today who is building alcoves in our lounge - very exciting!DF as at 30/12/16

Hi everyone
Thanks for starting the thread Purps
Sounds like a good Lidl haul DNMS!! :T
It's my last week at work!! Mat leave starts on Friday!!I've managed to save £4.5k for it and I'll still get a full wage at the end of April and then around half in May. OH will also get half in May so it will be a bit of a killer, June will then be tight (statutory pay) but I 'should' get a bonus at the end of July... If we hammer down on grocery/household spends and eating out/take aways then our budget will stretch all the further... So thankful OH earns a decent wage now!
I'm WFH today - need to stay in for a courier... They sent me a silver and white pram when I ordered a black one... Now need to be here for them to give them the old one back. Oh well, saved me going anywhere today!
Need to sort YNAB - still addicted:rotfl:
Food from stores
Let hair dry naturally
Cancelled the cleaner for this week - house is a tip with all the DIY we're doing
Checked CHIP - I've saved over £500 so a nice round £5k for mat leave!! :T Does anyone want a link? We both get an extra 1% on savings if a friend (ie. me) invites you.
That's all I can think of at the mo but I'm sure there's more.
Catch up soon.0 -
Morning all!
Grim weather here, means loads of the people who normally use muscle-powered transport are in their cars instead (including myself) so it takes FOREVER to get anywhere. I should toughen up in future! :rotfl:
Yesterday's list:
- cancel spotify premium trial (harder than it sounds) - I forgot, will attempt today
- cut back on the heating again - also forgot but have at least corrected the clock on the timer
- stick to the ald! list tonight - ehhhh mostly, added grapes and mushrooms
- post 1x birthday card today so I can use existing 2nd class stamp - written and will go in work post today (I did buy the stamps myself)
Today:
- gym AM to make good use of the luxurious membership
- all meals and snacks from stores
- cancel spotify trial
- put birthday card in post
- review heating. I was cold last night tbh.
- fold and put away clean clothes currently languishing in big blue ikea bags
Have a good day everyone0 -
Morning all. The sun is shining and have woken up in a really positive mood :T
Today's list:
All meals from stores. Got some lovely lamb "bits" (offcuts, neck etc) that we got free from the farm out of the freezer. Will strip from the bones and dice to make a home made madras for takeaway night. Made before and it's as good as the restaurant :T
check online banking and update spreadsheetsd
walk on the beach with the kids with visit to playpark
fold washing never-ending task
Make sure all jobs are ticked off in time for the football:T
aiming for a no spend day today

Today and tomorrow are potential nsd days and maybe Thursday as well as had a great shop in ldl last night £5 voucher off and free toilet paper - success. Got a £32 shop for under 25. And somehow still have the voucher so might be able to do a repeat voucher shop this weekend if it is still valid.
Brought along son as assistant and he added up the shop while we were picking everything to make it exactly 31 for the required £30 spend. Nice to have a scribe for the shop. That was our social afterIsa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%
