Today I am grateful for good friends, for a peaceful day, for trying out a new sock-knitting-method-pattern-thingy, for getting some paperwork done, for dd clearing out a few more things, for my workout, for good things to read, for watching (a recording of) the marathon, for the apple blossom.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Today wasn't a NSD as we went shopping, but it all came in under £40.00 which I'm grateful for. Got some yellow sticker goodies (large chicken £1.98!) and decided to buy some frozen pizzas - not healthy, but I'm thinking freezer food will help during the week. Freezer is packed now, as I visited my Nana and she had got us 10 chicken breasts from the farmshop.
Gave cabinets another coat today, I think four will want another coat (maybe 2, not sure) but that should mean by Wednesday we have half of the bottom cabinets back up. I'm going to try and give them a coat every day, after work, as it doesn't take that long and will speed up the slow progress I'm making! I also put silicone trim thing around worktops and tiles and everything looks much neater now.
Overall, a busy day. Made up some freezer space as I had salmon for dinner and OH had frozen lasagne with chips and salad that I sorted for him after practice. Meal times different, but I'm looking at it positively, as there's a tiny bit more room in the freezer now!
I've prepped a pasta salad for lunch tomorrow, so no need to buy anything! I'm planning on Monday and Tuesday both being NSD.February Grocery Budget: £190.75/£350.00

I managed to keep Friday as a NSD but both yesterday and Sunday were not, unfortunately.
With 2 days left of the month, I anticipate I'll have them as NSD's which will give me a total of 14 for the month. Average. The typical, 'could do better'. Looking forward to next months. I am determined!0 -
Yesterday was a NSD in my book, I did spend on groceries but as that is budgeted for I don't count it.
Today will be a NSD aswell.
Plan to get the house clean today, do some ironing, walk the dog and do a scale drawing of my kitchen so I can plan what we are going to do with it.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Sorry went awol again.
Mixed weekend' quite a bit done, more planned but lots 'part done'. Some of it through necessity - I am going to use the new bed set DS2 bought me for Mothering Sunday (I may regret this) and donate the 15 yo set plus the sheets and pillowcases bought to go with it. I have bagged some of it, but decided one of the sheets needs washing and one of the fancy pillowcases hasn't yet been found so it's a work in progress.
Given the state of the house some 'uncompleteness' is inevitable - one thing has to be moved out of the way to make space for another, something else can move part way to where it's going etc etc.
I have made up one set of 2 x 2 cube shelves but after much measuring found they aren't quite right to support the table top but after much more measuring (all using my hand and arm or a broom) I think the table top itself can replace the old bedframe (slats broken, damage to one end - have been thinking for several years that it would make an excellent raised bed outside).
If this sounds mad the table top in question is over an inch thick, 8' x 3', has a supporting frame with 6" square, solid pine stubs in the corners (tops to the screw-in legs, one of which is damaged in a way that cannot be easily or cheaply fixed and believe me I have thought of umpteen 'solutions' over the years).
The shelves from my room have moved part way to their destination in front of the chimney breast (to replace the sideboard that went in the first cull and to hold the pet supplies currently in the large square wheeled shopper - shopper is going to cs). It's only part way because DS3 and his Beloved have accumulated a pile of takeaway rubbish since my last pass and by that time (around 6 pm) I hadn't the energy to stand and use a broom to move it or to sit on the couch and pick and sort them - I had done cans and bottles, washing up and 'rubbish' (crisp/ sweet wrappers etc earlier).
Positives my foot is stronger (arch supports working though may still need help for the original ankle injury that was masking it) and my energy levels are up (doctor prescribed high dose Vitamin D tablets). Did much better at Friday's exercise class and even did a little dancing on Saturday evening (using body and feet in a way that's not been possible for the last 4.5 months). Will still need to pace myself - stop and rest when I get breathless or bits start hurting.
Lots has been done even if not to conclusion - won't have any problem remembering what I need to do because the 'started' tasks are so obvious.
Two loads of my clothes/ bedding were washed (stuff I took to mum's for Easter and things I've worn since), dishwasher was emptied/ refilled and set off (including 2 bagfuls recovered from their room - thanks to their Pokemon hunts when they actually leave the house).
Lots of cans/ bottles/ tins/ paper/ garden waste (unfortunately some food waste too) and paper/ card went into the appropriate recycling bins. I have lots of ideas for 'next' areas to tackle.
Limitations (not negatives, we are not having negatives) - I am absolutely jiggered. I had my pills at about 5 am, have been briefly awake at least 3 times since then, have just been downstairs to refill my 2 l water bottle and get the last yoghurt from the fridge and think it may be another hour before I can summon the energy to get to the bathroom for a sit down shower.
In the end, I can only rely on myself. They have been doing things, but only at their own pace and DS3 especially needs to be reminded. However the times they go out of the house are all opportunities to shove labelled bags of their stuff back in their room - it's then up to them if they want to put them away or add to the general chaos but I'm reclaiming other parts of the house. Still a long way to go and it's home visit mk11 next week.
I have some tough decisions to make - need another embroidery supply/ wip cull and not sure how to do it. Tried once over the weekend and made it worse (messier).
Will take the big bag of paperwork and the laptop with me to mum's - the sunshine has probably encouraged her 'thinking'. Mum uses the royal 'we' - we can do this..., if we..... (with her doing the thinking and me the physical part). Well not today, Jose.
For the weekend, I am grateful for weather (good, bad, indifferent) for a lovely compliment on my outfit, for good books, enjoyable 'cobbled together' food, leftovers and use ups.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Afternoon Turtles!
Yesterday was NSD13
Today I paid off some bills, and did a quick low spend shop on back to school essentials. It turned out at 7.30 this morning they were back to school essentials, although all holiday they were not. Same as the mysteriously appearing homework. Holiday soluble. grrrr.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Hello
Quiet, non-spendy weekend, which was just what I needed. You can't spend what you don't have, and I needed quality time.
Hope today went well Chocolate...
Today I woke up with a strange 'headache'. I don't get head pain as such but this feels like I have something pressing on the top of my head. Think I may have slept funny as my neck and shoulder muscles are also quite stiff.
Work has been ok, but the same hilarity of kids and their rotten behaviour at the moment. I was quite pleased to get out at the end of the day.
Now just sitting counting the minutes till bedtime. Think I might have to give in and have some ibuprofen as I don't think I can concentrate on doing anything useful. Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control
