Managed 15NSDs this month which I'm pleasantly surprised with.
Past three weeks have whizzed by, since I last posted, as been busy but at the lowest cost possible making full use of any vouchers or "stuff" we already had in.

Off to sign up for next month as even if I don't post I follow the thread, enjoy reading others progress and need something to anchor my financial journey to.

Managed another NSD so I'm at 9/15.

My previous plan on working on the kitchen after work hasn't happened as I just don't have the energy. I'm working from home Wednesday and Friday so I might start work early and finish early those days and fit it in then. I'm glad we have another bank holiday weekend coming up, as it'll give me more time to get on with it.

Pay day tomorrow, thank goodness. Bank balance is very low at the moment as my car tax for the year has just gone out. It in my overdraft though, which is good :)

    Hi all :j

Simplicity - think about the simple pleasures in your life which you really appreciate, friendship, family, cake. Focus on those this month as much as you can (maybe not too much cake though). Simple pleasure of seeds morphing into plants, another plant left in its pot & looking like a dead twig suddenly bursting into life.

Persevere - I know that trying to reach your goal can sometimes seem never ending but try to remember that each time you waste money/time it can take you further away from what you really want for the long term. Spends today (booked a cabin on the way back so DH can sleep) but did go through TCB. No spends yesterday.

Reduce - I wouldn't be me if I wasn't asking you to reduce. Think about what you really need and what will be left at the end, is there a better way to consume. Was creative with food we have in without buying more, hate to throw away food.

Invest - in yourself, your family, your home - the things that really matter to you. Had a bad back yesterday but tablets sorted it out. Today much better & got lots done before hols.

Grab - take life by the horns. Do something which takes you outside of your comfort zone at least once this month. Now making a new sweater that is definitely out of my comfort zone. Let's see how that goes. So far so good, but only on the first sleeve. More challenges to come. Maybe be able to mend the existing dishwasher, DH is on the case.

NSDs: now 15/15 - that will be it as spending tomorrow. pleased though.

NO spending in coffee shops, work canteens, vending machines. If you do it needs to be planned in advance and budgeted for. Never go in coffee shops, no canteen, don't use vending machines either. But I still waste money! Only spend on holiday cabin, hopefully not wasted.

    Go turtles!

Hi turtles! I've spent far too much money over Easter - takeaways and eating out mostly... and really looking forward to knuckling down next month, as the prospect of 2.5months of summer with no work is looming and I really need to be sensible now or I won't have any savings left.

On the plus side my landlord has given me a month of rent free as she screwed me over with my contract (not allowed to claim it for my tax return)

Will update savings totals when I get a chance.

NSD = no idea, although yesterday was one.

  • Had to buy bloody milk for the office, so £1.29 ruined my precious NSD.

Today will be though which means I finish on 14 of the month. Well done everyone, especially Dolly for hosting!

Speky, can you claim the milk as an expense? Or is it just for you?

    Last day of the month!
Payday today, money shuffled, kids to school on time (despite DS4 rolling in hair gel).

In other, seedy news, I have a cucamelon! just the one, but still, I have a CUCAMELON!!, all the cucumber seeds and courgettes have sprouted, I have enough sunflowers to keep VvG happy, and the tomatoes now have 2 real leaves as well as the original sprouted ones, so I will have to pot them on soon. Yay! Now I need to make something for them to grow in.

(Imagine me with a tea towel on my head) through the swirling mists of time.... I see a hammer, and nails ..... in the near future, so beware.... and be sure to wear......shoes............ or risk... danger! :rotfl:

Ok, tea towel off, can't say I haven't been warned.
Thank you for running April, I managed my NSD target, and exceeded it. Savings Up, debt avoided. :T See you in May?
