July-ke the idea then...?
I liked that one. Can't top that.
Yesterday seen me grab number 11 of the month. Getting into the swing of things. That being said, I've an external meeting pencilled in today which might means some spends on coffee/parking/transport etc. Should go on expenses really but I dunno how I'd feel handing in my monthly expense sheet for like £8!0 -
Speky - don't you dare not hand in that expenses sheet!! It's your money, so claim it!
Dolly - I once did a day's supply at a certain horrible school and it tookme days to recover. Then a friend said that I could tell the agency that I didn't want to go back to that school. Simple. Hope you're able to make a decision about the job xNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Speky - expenses not claimed but incurred doing your job are akin to handing back part of your salary to your employer - claim them!!
NSD 10
Simplicity - collected daughter and boyf from train station - they enjoyed their time in London (boyf had never been)
Persevere - some loose change added to hol fund piggy bank
Reduce - went through fridge today, salvaging things to reduce waste (had got chaotic in there over Easter hols) Froze some things and made a chilli with some of the veggies and YS mince from DecTidied up freezer and made an inventory to ensure things are used up
Invest - cleaning/ tidying in kitchen. Need to try and get my hair cut - can't see from under my fringe!I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200 -
Yes Speky you have to claim otherwise next time it will be £10 and then more and you will feel awkward, it's your money.
Am home after the most tedious day ever. Have been (unusually for me so early in a job) very forthright and direct today because I don't care. Why do companies want to pay people but don't have any actual work for them?
On the plus side I have had a NSD.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Hello
Thanks for offering to do May appleI need all the help I can get over exam season as I get so busy.
Another nsd today, and productive at work - it's nice when I can get stuff done that helps me to be a better teacher.
Leftovers for dinner again tonight so a nice, quick prep when I got in from work. I do feel very tired though and I feel as though I need to have the evening doing nothing much. How very lazy of me.Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Today I am grateful for seeing a carpet of cherry blossom this morning, for a useful conversation at work, for lovely classes, for a series of green lights on my way home, for dropping off 2 more bags at the ch shop, for my workout, for headspace, for the evening light.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Quiet day. Woke early but dozed, busy week so let myself off. Took books back to the library and a letter to the post office for mum (to Australia). Have done a small shop - white buns to have with bacon, wholemeal (found ys ones) to make tuna butties to freeze, going to cube the remaining lamb, curry/ stew it and add all the veg and salad that are past their best.
Probably going to go slightly over my budget as I need bus fare to get to the exercise class tomorrow (may be able to walk there but certainly need the little bus afterwards). Had a phone call from Salford Royal this morning- they had a cancellation for tomorrow and offered me the appointment but unfortunately it clashes with exercise class (and I missed the last one because I was at Salford and will probably miss the next one as it clashes with the funeral). I mentioned that I already had an appointment but apparently this is a different one, called Ceepak (presume that's initials but not sure which letters are involved).
Today I am grateful for only getting slightly wet, for trees in full leaf but still looking very young and pale and for seeing 2 rainbows at once.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Hi all :j
Simplicity - think about the simple pleasures in your life which you really appreciate, friendship, family, cake. Focus on those this month as much as you can (maybe not too much cake though). Cheery visit from friend & lots of chat, he looks better than he has done. Simple lunch & a foodie gift for him to take home.
Persevere - I know that trying to reach your goal can sometimes seem never ending but try to remember that each time you waste money/time it can take you further away from what you really want for the long term. No spends today & lots of kitchen progress.
Reduce - I wouldn't be me if I wasn't asking you to reduce. Think about what you really need and what will be left at the end, is there a better way to consume. Looking forward to selling lots of stuff after we get back from hols.
Invest - in yourself, your family, your home - the things that really matter to you. Not much outside time today & looks like I forgot to shut greenhouse door yesterday & dogs have been inside. Chaos, have to take stock of what's been trashed tomorrow.
Grab - take life by the horns. Do something which takes you outside of your comfort zone at least once this month. Now making a new sweater that is definitely out of my comfort zone. Let's see how that goes. So far so good, but only on the first sleeve. More challenges to come. Unpacked dishwasher which was then revealed as an integrated one, not a freestanding one. Will have to go back now...grrr
NSDs: still 12/15
NO spending in coffee shops, work canteens, vending machines. If you do it needs to be planned in advance and budgeted for. Never go in coffee shops, no canteen, don't use vending machines either. But I still waste money! Small shopping spend again in farm shop with teacakes & meat for lunch. Plenty left for another day or two, DD took some as well.

sashanut - oh those naughty dogs, hope they haven't done too much damage.
Working today - or sitting around in a boiling hot bombproof bunker as I like to call it.
It won't be a NSD as DH is calling at Tesco with the kids when he finishes work and then the 3 of them are having a takeaway for supper today, I will be having hm mushroom soup left from yesterday.
Have stripped our bed but can't do anything else with bedding until I get home. Will hopefully run today.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

A meeting in the city yesterday meant I spent on travel and a coffee, so no NSD for me. Still on 11.
I also came back to a parking ticket, realised I'd lost my travel mug (which I use everyday) and my hairdryer exploded. I'll buy/pay these on Saturday which will be my designated spend day. Raging!0
