    NSD today - 17/15.
Visited where my sister lives as her ex had an afternoon tea party in church hall for 50th birthday. Lovely to see family.
Walked to underground station this morning and part way home this evening. Walked from mainline station to church hall. Used map on phone to find hall. Was out of my comfort zone as did not know area at all.
Brought home some buns. Had some on train and some when I got home. Still got some left.
Will be going up to where sister lives as ex is going to be showing me around to get an idea where I want to move to.

  • Today has been a NSD, so I'm on 8/15. Sunday will likely be a spend day if we go shopping, we have some food in, but mostly for dinners, and we will need some lunch food for packed lunches in the week. Should be a cheap shop, though.

Not ventured outside, as it's been raining all day. Did manage to work on the kitchen, 3 finished cabinets are up with new door knobs. They look good, I'm really pleased with them, and it feels like I have *slightly* less clutter with cabinet doors laying around everywhere.

No takeaway, defrosted some pork steaks and had them with mash and veggies.
    February Grocery Budget: £190.75/£350.00

    Hi all :j

Simplicity - think about the simple pleasures in your life which you really appreciate, friendship, family, cake. Focus on those this month as much as you can (maybe not too much cake though). Not exactly cake but simple pleasure of apple & blackberry crumble - blackberries from last years' abundance via the freezer.

Persevere - I know that trying to reach your goal can sometimes seem never ending but try to remember that each time you waste money/time it can take you further away from what you really want for the long term. No spends today & a little more clearing, this time in the sunroom.

Reduce - I wouldn't be me if I wasn't asking you to reduce. Think about what you really need and what will be left at the end, is there a better way to consume. Chucked out a few bags of junk from sunroom & am due to pass on a chair that is in there. The cat will have to find another perch.

Invest - in yourself, your family, your home - the things that really matter to you. A few more things planted whilst dodging the (very heavy) showers.

Grab - take life by the horns. Do something which takes you outside of your comfort zone at least once this month. Now making a new sweater that is definitely out of my comfort zone. Let's see how that goes. So far so good, but only on the first sleeve. More challenges to come. Maybe be able to mend the existing dishwasher, DH is on the case.

    NSDs: now 14/15

NO spending in coffee shops, work canteens, vending machines. If you do it needs to be planned in advance and budgeted for. Never go in coffee shops, no canteen, don't use vending machines either. But I still waste money! No spends today, all food either leftovers or from stores. Hm burgers & plenty left for another meal.

    Go turtles!

    Morning all.

Was out yesterday and spent money but not too much. Rained a lot yesterday but is bright today. Washing will be on the line soon and then I am going cycling.

  • Hello everyone :)

Got my deposit back from moving house and put £1000 of it onto my CC :D so that's a nice big lump gone and if I keep on going the way I'm going it should all be paid off by the end of the year/mid Jan next year :D woop woop!

Have got a trail day tomorrow at a new job I applied for so fingers crossed that goes well.

Have lost track of my NSD but think I must have got my 12 by now!

apple muncher - At least it gave me the confidence about moving there and that I was able to get about around there.
chocolatelover93 - Good luck for tomorrow and great news about your deposit.
    NSD today - 18/15.
Very quiet day. Stayed in but managed to do a tiny bit of housework.
Did add up the amounts spent in each category as plan not to spend the next two day.
My mind is too busy thinking about what is planned for next month. At least I have written down what is planned so that I can cross things off the list.
