I'm home too and glad to be there. Yesterday and today were both spend days, spent 18 pounds on food and drink to take with me, lots of healthy stuff (hospital is super expensive, smiths charge a fortune for tiny bottles of coke and double normal price for crisp and choc, other options are a mini M n S and costa lot and variations. Wasn't sure about normal shops (not in town centre).

Bus tickets were 5.80 each day (any bus tickets as it was supposed to be 2 buses/ different operators). Was ahead of schedule for most of the day, one bus has been rerouted and now stops outside the hospital, which helped a lot.

Very early so had a walk round the hospital trying to find the bit I needed. Went across the road to the b n b for a rest and joined the main outpatients queue and was redirected to where I should be.

All the staff were lovely, the equipment was smaller than anticipated and I was shown how to put it on myself. It would switch itself on and off but I had to have it on by 10 pm (multiple bits to manage) which at least meant I could have a shower (had taken some wipes but as the equipment was to be fitted over my t-shirt wasn't sure if I would be able to use them).

Sat in the sunshine eating salad and fruit then returned to the b n b. I had the walker with me but lots of walking, lifting walker and bags onto and off buses and then a few steps at the b n b left me exhausted.

Not sure how useful it has all been. Struggled to get to sleep, was very conscious of my own heartbeat, woke myself twice through coughing, once
because my hand flopped as I nodded off and sent a nearly full can of coke flying (had some in the afternoon but didn't finish it in case it stopped me sleeping), the finger stall came off multiple times, the belt attached to the lower monitor kept twisting, caught my hand in the loop of the cannula and it slipped out several times after that plus visits to the bathroom.

Just hoping something useful got recorded in the few hours I was actually asleep.

Missed breakfast in favour of having an extra rest (so glad I took the alarm clock), took the equipment and paperwork back to the hospital, packed up, had another short rest until 1/4 to 10 am and then caught the bus to the Trafford Centre in search of something mum wanted. No joy and then power walked nearly the whole length of the Centre in under 13 minutes to catch the bus home.

Today I am grateful for all the hospital staff and volunteers, for lovely food and for it being convention weekend (if I can stand up tomorrow, I can tidy without tiptoeing round anyone).

    Hi all :j

Simplicity - think about the simple pleasures in your life which you really appreciate, friendship, family, cake. Focus on those this month as much as you can (maybe not too much cake though). Weeded cold frame & found missing key - DH very happy. Pleasure in the spring flowers coming out on the rockery, inc cowslips.

Persevere - I know that trying to reach your goal can sometimes seem never ending but try to remember that each time you waste money/time it can take you further away from what you really want for the long term. No cash wasted today, time yes probably.

Reduce - I wouldn't be me if I wasn't asking you to reduce. Think about what you really need and what will be left at the end, is there a better way to consume. No purchases today & tasty meals from YS, leftovers & stuff already in. Resisted the takeway & shopping pleas.

Invest - in yourself, your family, your home - the things that really matter to you. Thankfully hair appt is next week, but on washing hair decided to cancel anyway, it doesn't need cutting yet & it will save some cash by not having it done for another couple of weeks.

New - new month, new beginning. Don't look back at past mistakes and failures, there is nothing that can be done about them, learn from them and move on. Rarely look back - & when/if I do it's as if that stuff happened to someone else, which of course I was then. Onwards & upwards.

Grab - take life by the horns. Do something which takes you outside of your comfort zone at least once this month. Out at Wool Fest on Sunday.

    NSDs:now 6/15

    NO spending
in coffee shops, work canteens, vending machines. If you do it needs to be planned in advance and budgeted for. Never go in coffee shops, no canteen, don't use vending machines either. But I still waste money! No eating out.

Mothernerd - glad that the equipment was quite small and that you did, at least, manage a little sleep, however troubled it was. I'd think it would be sensible to use the equipment over a few nights, to get a proper overview?

Hope you are able to tidy without tiptoe-ing, but please don't push yourself too far...

Today I am grateful for a good night's sleep, for taking MIL out for lunch (she is extremely slow with her walker, has severe osteoarthritis, and is legally blind), for good conversation (her body is frail but her brain is still razor sharp), for yummy gf pizza, for dd finding a book in the dollar store (except it needed tax adding, so was 1.08 - weird!), for more glorious sunshine, for cold water to drink.

Holidays!! but DH has donned his cape, mask and boots, and is going in to work due to a colleague not being able to arrange his life (he cba really).

Sunny cold day, not seen kids yet - will let them veg today before taking them out tomorrow for educational and historically pertinent exhibitions, with the promise of ice cream sooner, and bike riding later (stick, carrot, carrot).
car full of petrol, shopping money off coupons used, in control of the situation at present.

    Have a great weekend everyone

As expected, various bits of my body are complaining today. Didn't get started until 11 am (had had pills and got dresses but didn't resist the urge to doze, more sleep= less painkillers.

Went to the library, 3 books returned, 10 new ones taken out. Had to use the walker most of the time - sat to put the returns through the machine, sat again when I reached the aisle I wanted, punted myself around on the walker. When I got back to the house I stayed downstairs.

Sat at one end of the sofa, picked empty drink cans from the shelves, the floor, gap between shelves and sofa, repeated the process with any sweet wrappers and other rubbish, another bag for pots, worked my way through stuff remaining on the other sofa - found a couple of my missing socks. Once I had a space I started to make piles of books etc.

Took pots away and brought an empty bag and the paper sack back. Stopped when I really started to hurt. Read for a while, put food in the oven (all food from stores, strange but not exotic combinations). Tried to get manky quilt into the washer, not sure if it's too big or I can no longer push hard enough - put it outside instead, if it doesn't rain I'll throw some water over it and let the fresh air and sunshine work it's magic.

Left the back door open and climbed onto the couch to open both windows, letting the fresh air blow through. When I needed to go to the bathroom I remained upstairs and tackled some of their room. Hacked my way as far as the office chair and sat down. Collected pots, rubbish and recycling from all sides - 2 bin bags, 1 large bin and a bag for life full of cans and bottles. Rubbish squashed into 2 tiny bags.

Made more footholes in the floordrobe and reached the window to let more air in. Took all the sacks, bags and bins downstairs then had another rest before decanting as much as possible into appropriate bins. They have arrived back but if I get a bit more energy I'll load the dishwasher and set that off. My sheets, the bath mat and a pillow went in the washer.

Had a little go at the bathroom earlier - DS3's cosplay must have required beard removal, a lot of hair was collected in a bag but the sink, toilet and stool all had a generous sprinkling so used a wet rag to collect as much as possible, put cosmetics and toiletries back in their pockets and remembered to bring up a new bottle of toilet cleaner.

Hoping for an early night and a full day tomorrow (unless they're busy, I bet they pack up early tomorrow).

Today I am grateful for peace and quiet, for time on my own, for making a difference even when limping along.

    Hello
I've had a couple of days off from being online as I like to do occasionally. I had hoped to do a bit more relaxing than I've managed so far, but it's been nice to not have to get up at half past six for a few days now. I've done lots of little, running about jobs that I always do during the holidays - hairdressers, doctors, solicitors, car stuff etc. Plus I've done a couple of extra tutoring sessions as well, which has really helped financially for the hols.
I've been helping my sister out as much as I can. She's in the process of separating from her hubby so there's lots needs doing as well as the moral support I want to give her. It hasn't left a lot of time just for switching off to be honest - hence I haven't been online much as I've not really had the time.
Finances aren't looking great to be honest - school hols wipe me out. But I am really enjoying the fact that I'm getting to spend time with my friends and family. That has been really nice, which is the most important thing at the moment...

    Hi all :j

    Simplicity
    - think about the simple pleasures in your life which you really appreciate, friendship, family, cake. Focus on those this month as much as you can (maybe not too much cake though). Bit of a non day as I got up late - for me - at 9.30 & had a bad head that persisted until late afternoon. Gave thanks for medication that we have to help these days, my mother must have suffered as I know she had this problem.

No purchases today , lots of changes of plans from DD meant food was planned, partly made - then not required. In the end I decided to have that meal tomorrow, including trifle with the brownies that didn't turn out too well, so we just had eggs beans chips - & sausage in DHs case - as I'm out tomorrow we can have the almost prepped meal when I get back.

Invest - in yourself, your family, your home - the things that really matter to you. No investment today other than taking a bit more care of myself by sitting down most of the day.

New - new month, new beginning. Don't look back at past mistakes and failures, there is nothing that can be done about them, learn from them and move on. Rarely look back - & when/if I do it's as if that stuff happened to someone else, which of course I was then. Tried not to regret not doing much today.

[/COLOR]Grab - take life by the horns. Do something which takes you outside of your comfort zone at least once this month. Out at Wool Fest on my own tomorrow.

NO spending in coffee shops, work canteens, vending machines. If you do it needs to be planned in advance and budgeted for. Never go in coffee shops, no canteen, don't use vending machines either. But I still waste money! No eating out today despite DH telling me it would be best, had easy meal from freezer.

Masses of laundry put through the quick wash and dried on the line, all the school blazers and coats too.

Made cake, ate cake, still have half of cake left over. Made a cheese and potato pie, as the oven was on, and have enough leftover stew to do lunch today, with little faff. Supper is store cupboard spaghetti.

No spends needed today I don't think.

Two seeds have sprouted. a bit. a tiny bit. but still a bit.

Slept awfully, too much noise outside, I think Byron the fox (he lives on the railway embankment down the bottom of the road) is getting brave again.

Sunny day. Still cold mind. Have a good one.
