    Hi all,

Sorry for my absence, the end of term has finally arrived. The last few days were manic but I am now on holiday and currently sat on a sun lounger with the time to catch up on all your productive posts. SFDs were few and far between in the last week and probably will be here too but as long as I’m in budget, I’m happy. Plan to do lots of reading, walking, swimming and generally relaxing 😊

  • Been quiet recently, not used internet much, to be honest.

On NSD 5, which is disappointing, as I do not think I'll make 15 this month. To be honest, I'll be happy with ten.

Ended up giving in to takeaway on Wednesday, small spends on Thursday and it was my colleagues leaving do on Friday so money spent on drinks.

NSD yesterday though, which was good. Today will be a spend day, as it's food shop day.

Simplicity - visiting my grandparents today so will enjoy that.

Persevere - I have a week off now, so will tackle the kitchen this week.

Reduce - had to throw out some mouldy bread today. But gutted I didn't catch it in time to pop into the freezer.

Invest - I have invested time in friends and trying to socialise. I find it difficult sometimes, feel like I have to be 'on' and at times, it just feels fake. My mental health hasn't been great past few days, but I'm trying.

New - looking forward. I've seen a job I might apply for at a previous work place, the pay is better, and it was a decent place. We'll see.

Grab - do something scary, and out of my comfort zone. I might apply for a new job, which is both scary and out of my comfort zone, at the moment. But I'm bored at work, and prospects in my team look limited.

Still haven't been cloned so today will be a plodding/ crawling day aka "What can you do when you don't have anything left to give". Much as I would like to attack the front room or their bedroom whilst they are away, I need to put myself first and sort out my bedroom aka the sanctuary.

Everything still hurting (cough is also ramping up again). Food shop arriving early evening (still need to organise one for mum), a number of imponderables to factor in this week and next weekend is fast disappearing. So, shower first, wash my clothes ignore theirs, work out what needs to be done and pick out a few easy wins (remove all their sorted clothing and things like books and put them in their room - there is nowhere to put them but that's their problem, they made it,they can sort it).

Lots of resting to contemplate each bit done and try to ignore 'that which is not done'.

Out of my comfort zone - lots of new authors I'm trying and a couple of genres that I haven't visited for a long while (I'm sorry it's not more but my options are father limited atm). Actually sitting in the mess that is my front room was uncomfortable but told myself I need to examine the problem to work out solutions (other than building a hobbit hole in the back yard and putting them, or more likely myself, in it.

Today I am grateful for rather a lot of things, your posts have reminded me of things I no longer do - like DS2 bringing home a car load of supposedly clean washing but as he and his flatmates smoked, it smelt so vile that I redid it all, not having to spend every holiday with the dreadful in-laws, no traditional water fight (I was the only mum stupid enough to let them into my kitchen and turn it into a mudbath). I am grateful for progress made, for home delivery, for excellent fiction and music (think it's time for 'Why worry?' again - on drip feed.

  • Simplicity - Spending time with DS and our family
DS still not 100% bless him so he was off nursery on Friday to go back to hospital so lots of cuddles when we got home.

Persevere - Goals are to pay off CC, pay off Argos card and pay off Sofa this year
Have given all my cards to my dad and as bills are all DD he is just giving me £80 a week for everything else.

Reduce - Will make sure as soon as a washing load is done I take it out of machine instead of leaving it and having to wash it again. Try and put washing on the line instead of in tumble dryer. Make a meal plan to reduce our food waste and shopping list for the same. Using a shampoo bar now once liquid soap and conditioner is gone will be using bars for them too When shopping try and pick up things in no packaging or recyclable packing.
been trying to recycle as much as I can.

Invest - Make sure the house stays clean and tidy and I stay clean and tidy haha put some make up on every day (if going out) and have more "me" time.
Making sure I put a bit of make up on each day to make me feel a bit better.

New - stop beating myself up about being in debt and get myself out of debt.
Dad is helping me with this.

Grab - will have a think about this one.

    NSD - 5/12

mothernerd - I think travelling to and from the hospital and staying over was out of your comfort zone, it would have been for me anyway.

chocolatelover - hope your little boy gets better soon.

Spent quite a bit of money yesterday. Ordered all the things we need to sort out our loft, it came to over £200 but we had the money set aside. I also took advantage of the 25% off 6 bottles of wine, I still only drink one bottle a week but it means I get one free this way. I bought DS a summer jacket in the charity shop for £2.99 and myself some BNWT linen trousers which were the exact thing I was after, £4.50 was paid for those.

It is so cold here today that the heating is on and is staying on. I have washing on the line and the freezing wind should dry it fairly well, I have washed the kids winter school coats which seems a bit rash now. Mangaged to smash all three of my pyrex dishes this morning and now just have 3 lids, I use these a lot and will have to replace them soon.

I got the job I went for last week but am not able to have a formal offer as yet as they do a very rigorous vetting process which has involved 3 work references, 2 character references and monthly bank statements for the last 5 years to cover work gaps - I have gaps because I am not able to claim anything so it is like I disappear. Fingers crossed it will be OK but I am not holding my breath.

Well done on getting the job dolly.

Chocolatelover - hope ds gets better soon, as this has been going on for quite a while, no?

It is decidedly chily here too - in Texas! Okay, so it's 6 degrees at 8am, but 4 days ago we had the hottest day of the year... Dh and dd are still snoring, and I've lit one of the gas hobs in the kitchenette to warm the place up a little.

  • Dolly - well done on the job fingers crossed for you.

Applemuncher - yeah pretty much since he was born first it was chest infections they got on top of that and the last year he's had almost 20 ear infections and that isn't exaggerating! He's only two. He has at least one lot of antibiotics a month and his development is now affected. He had grommits put in which has improved his hearing but they are now thinking of doing an immune check to see if he has an immune disorder because although he is only little he is ill a lot more than other kids his age :(

Chocolatelover - do make sure they check for coeliac disease. It's where ingesting gluten means that your immune system attacks the lining of the gut and intestines, and therefore nutrient absorbsion ends up being minimal, and the 'bad bugs' have a field day. If it is this, then it can be sorted out purely by diet. Hope they do find out a cause, so that you can start to help him mend.

I am already yawning my head off so probably an early night for me. Had a long rest which helped my foot and done as much as possible whilst moving as little as possible.

Emptied and refilled the dishwasher. The quilt I want it to rain on is draped over several garden chairs, a sheet, pillow and a bath mat are on the remaining chairs and the buddleia bush, my clothes are in the washer (need to add the pillowcases and set it off). Dealt with a pile of mini pizza boxes, 2 bagfuls of assorted recycling binned appropriately.

Four labelled bags of their clothing and bedding brought upstairs and put in their room. Another bag to collect all the remaining oddments from the kitchen and front room - needs sorting as it's a mix of everyone's things. Plus brought some rags and a bottle of stuff to spray and wipe as much of the bathroom as I can manage (rubbish and mat removed yesterday).

My food has arrived and have done an order to be delivered to mum's on Tuesday afternoon - soup and beans stock up plus meat, veg, fruit, salad and cheese for next weekend, desserts for mum and the cleaner and biscuits in case of extra visitors over the holiday period.

Have caved in and ordered arch support insoles to be delivered tomorrow. Think it will only take a few days to see if they help or hinder but frankly not sure how things could be worse atm - can hardly walk at all, hurt a lot and my whole left leg is now involved (using the knee to compensate for the foot injury then other bits to take the strain off the knee).

Struggling to cope with the state of the house, constant tiredness, physical aches and pains and the effort of keeping myself cheerful (and of course cheerleader to DS3 and his gloomy pronouncements - going to start calling him Marvin). Hoping the supports help, the vitamin D kicks in and the blood test results highlight something that can be fixed.

apple they keep emphasising how expensive the equipment is, I had to wait several weeks to get my turn and they don't give second chances. It did highlight a number of issues, some of which I can do something about - keeping caffeine intake low, having a regular routine and making the bedroom a sanctuary with no tv or laptop for an hour or two before bed.

Today I am grateful for everything that did get done, my wonderful machines that do help a lot, for a chat with next door neighbour and a glimpse of one of his dogs (took one look at me and retreated behind the door frame).

chocolatelover93 - Hope your little one gets better soon.
dolly - Well done on the job.
Was a spend day yesterday. Brought 2 jeggings and trainers from my favourite shop. The jeggings are more comfortable than wearing jeans as I need to loose weight. Thinking of buying a couple more of the jeggings.
Walked the park run yesterday. Was pleased that I managed to walk the route as I was tired.
Managed an NSD today - 7/15.
Walked to and from station. Went up London to a Cathedral for the Palm Sunday service.
Have been chilling out the past 2 days - catching up with sleep and getting back into a routine.
Plans for the week is to catch up with a few household chores.
