Thanks Apple, that is so true! I’m always the one who drives up and down the country to visit my friends and I can’t remember the last time one of them visited me.
Hope you have a lovely break with MIL

Last week of term before Easter hols.
I have managed my first NSD this month!!!
Survived the interview process which turned out not to be an interview after all, it was an assessment process in groups, with nothing at all to do with the role, but giving impromptu presentations and problem solving. Nothing much to do with working behind a bar or in a cafe. Very ' now we will line up and sing the company song' type thing. Oh well, it was an experience.
To all parents/teachers on holiday already - congratulations
To everyone still waiting - not long left now.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Morning turtles,
A spendy weekend for me given the trip back up to Scotland. So today will be #4. I was hoping to get a good run at the NSD's this week but realised I'm short on wraps for my lunches, so I'll need to buy some at some point (damn).
foxholes - hope you hear back good news!0 -
Morning all
I am lucky enough to be on holiday now and it is very much needed. Still utterly grey and miserable outside but I'm still in my jammies and I'm not teaching Year 9 as I would normally be at this time on a Monday. I'm already smiling because ds got up and fed the cats this morning for me so that I could have a lie in, bless him.
Decluttering going well but I have had a shocking April so far financially. And with 2 weeks off school now I don't forecast much of an improvement. This is one I'll just need to work through as best as I can, because I'm way more focussed on spending time with friends and family. Thankfully we're all reasonably frugal so hopefully it won't be too bad. We're going shopping today as per dd and bestie's request. I'm normally quite good at trailing round behind them and not spending money, and dd just spends her own money. We will have lunch out I would think, and whilst I'm desperate for some new casual clothes I really hate clothes shopping so am not hopeful. I have put tutoring money to one side for such days out so there is a budget for it - as long as I stick with it.
And it goes without saying lunch will be on a voucher of some description.
I've got my fingers crossed for good news f0xh0les.Not giving up

apple - have a lovely holiday.
JoJo - coping with a caravan fridge is hard so don't worry about the NSD's for milk and other fridge bits.
f0xh0les - a lot of big companies recruit in this totally ridiculous, time wasting way, someone's bright idea to keep themselves in a job.
Feeling totally overwhelmed by how much stuff came out of the loft yesterday and how much there is still to do. Our house is 1930's and we have a slate roof which is back pointed with black lime, this falls off and crumbles off covering everything in black dust meaning we have a lot of cleaning to do up there and of the things which came out.
Plan for today is:
1. Clean toys taken from loft and freecycle or donate.
2. Re-write CV
3. Dog walk
4. Basic clean of bathroom
5. Ironing
6. [STRIKE]Peg washing out[/STRIKE]
7. Run
8. School run
9. Go to ATM
Right I had better get moving.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

NSD still 3 - small spend (c £5) at Tesc0 yesterday on baguette & fruit &veggies. I think today should be NSD - I have to nip out to PO to post some things related to my Nan's paperwork, but I've already got freebie RMsurvey stamps for that :T - just need to keep out of Tesc0.... (next to PO):p
Simplicity - watched Line of Duty with OH last night - we both really enjoy that programmeFinally got around to sowing the tomato & courgette seeds and potted on some plug plants (pretty flowers
)
Perseverance - this week's goal (well, one of them!) is getting DS2's bedroom tidy/ tidier - he carried on yesterday sorting out his Leg0I carried on trying out the new accounting software
Reduce - this week should generally be about eating what we've got and not wasting anything.
Invest - sowed seeds for (hopefully) HG veg.I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200 -
Popping on to post my first update for the month.
Simplicity – will be spending time with family and friends during the month as always find the time for a chat, cuppa and cake.
Persevere - I need to accept that tackling tasks in smaller chunks, rather than an all or nothing approach, is equally valid in reaching my goals.
Reduce – where to start? Will start this month with food as have 2 back from Uni to help use stuff up and can then send anything left back with them if needed.
Invest – need to prioritise this especially as will have some downtime during the holidays.
New – clean sheet from this month on. Putting the past down to experience, will learn and move on.
Grab – will think about what this could be as am one for playing safe and keeping well within my comfort zone.
The non-negotiable rules:
Aiming for 12 NSDs as a minimum as now on Easter Hols. Have managed 5 so far but have a few activities planned for this week which may involve spending. Next week at the moment looks quieter.
Payments to debt and savings are all accounted for and what’s left is in a budget and I will stick to it.
Only planned/budgeted spends in out of home food premises.Groceries: Personal Spend: 0 NST NSD Goals for 2025:Self: Health: Wealth :0 -

So glad to have done everything bar running, will do that this evening. Rang in laws about taking some toys and books for DH's great nephew, they left with a boot full and the rest were taken to the CS and they said they sell well so all good.
apple - trip might have been a better word than holiday but either way I hope it goes well.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

NSD 4 - went to PO, but used survey stamps :T
Simplicity - spent time with DS2 sorting his bookcase - very successfully. (He was then sorting his Leg0) Then spent time with DS3 finding space for his 'new' booksWill aim to do something a bit more 'fun' tomorrow - will see what weather is like (wet this morning, cold and grey this afternoon)
Persevere - food's been ok - lots of f&v in today's menuAnd using things up :T
Reduce - unwanted books from DS2 have gone in several directions - a big pile to DS3, a smaller pile to CS bag, a pile to try and sell on fb00k (exc condition sets), a virtually unused sticker book to shoebox appeal bag (they use the sticker sheets)and a small handful of completed activity books and an old magazine (2006) to recycling box. Also shredded a lot of paperwork (mine) which I'll split between compost heap and recycling. And 2 toys also out from DS2's room - 1 to CS bag (Disneyland Paris plushy in fab condition) and 1 small toy to shoebox appeal. Baby steps...… Two items arrived in post for DS1's bday - both are pre-owned games
Invest - time spent sorting paperwork and DS2's bedroom - not the most fun, but needed and worthwhile. Also cleaned DS2's windows inside and out and cleaned/ sorted his windowsill with him and we stripped/ remade his bed as a team (very heavy mattress in a cabin bed - a bit awkward!)

Another NSD today, so that's 3/15.
I've had a fairly productive day - long day at work, but that was intended as I want to build up some flexi-time.
Simplicity - the sun has been out, which means I could get a load outside to dry in the sun. No need for Mr. Tumble-dryer.
Persevere - the kitchen revamp is taking so long, but I now have a clear dining table, which is better than last week. I need to keep counting the little things!
Reduce - I've not done so well on the food-waste front. Found some salad at back of the fridge that had, for lack of a better word, dissolved. Managed to save the broccoli and cabbage though, which we're having for dinner tonight.
Invest - nope, nothing here today.
New - nope, nothing here today,
Grab - this one is difficult....February Grocery Budget: £190.75/£350.00
