    a non-spend day.

Phoned mum to see if she was okay to go to the doctor's, then booked a taxi to go for her at 8.45, then pick me up at the side of the library. Added mum's name to the list for our favourite doctor, collected the prescription I had ordered and was given a second one - some of my blood test results must be back as I have been given the high dose vitamin D tablets again.

Told the doctor about mum's finger, hand, wrist, arm and neck pains, were given forms for x-ray, asked about the blood tests required before mum's neurology appointment - he has put in a request to the district nurses and given us the forms.

Went to x-ray, let mum go in alone but explained to the radiologist that she must face mum and speak clearly (had already told mum not to just nod if she didn't hear something). Then went to get food. Ordered a baked potato for mum (I knew they would not have arrived but were due), asked the nice ladies if they would take it to mum (in the corridor sat on the chairs) when it arrived, whilst I went to get the prescription filled.

Ordered a taxi and went to Lid-dil. Mum had seen a silicone cake mould (butterflies, ladybirds and flowers) that she wanted. She had a voucher and we had each taken 2 bags so we got quite a lot (no butterflies but we got one with bunnies and carrots and one heart shaped with unicorns on top) by which time my ankle was screaming.

No taxi for half an hour so sat on a chair by the packing bench until I felt like moving then packed/ repacked and moved in stages. At mum's I gave her the baked potato (too hot earlier) and had a drink, then made a cup of tea for mum and unpacked a bit at a time.

Took my bandage off (either too tight or my ankle had swollen) and read my book lying on mum's bed whilst she watched a film. Came home at 7 pm with hopes of doing a couple of bits of admin but not sure I have anything left to give today - my arm is now nagging from helping mum up, holding her when walking and carrying shopping.

Mum made me pick myself some flowers (tiny orange roses) to show her appreciation for the things I do for her. Today I am grateful for taking steps towards getting some answers, for vitamin D tablets, for good weather, for being home and able to rest. Tomorrow will be quiet as mum will be wiped out from today and will want to rest.

Simplicity - Spending time chatting to OH this evening, skyped my mum yesterday.

Pay to your debt/savings first and move forward from there. - Done.

Have a budget and stick to it. - YNAB updated with small food spend today plus bought a part for the cooker (heating element in oven is broken) but had enough money in the home budget to pay for it.

    Hi all :j

    OOhh everything crossed foxHoles...:j:j:j:j

Simplicity - think about the simple pleasures in your life which you really appreciate, friendship, family, cake. Focus on those this month as much as you can (maybe not too much cake though). Afternoon/evening out with DH, tea in Bettys & then coming home to relax (and there may have been a cake).

Persevere - I know that trying to reach your goal can sometimes seem never ending but try to remember that each time you waste money/time it can take you further away from what you really want for the long term. Nothing done outside today - or inside for that matter. Back home put washer on with DDs ES clothes so they can dry overnight on creel, put all YS shopping away then washed up. Earlyish start tomorrow as am in CS doing usual stint.

Reduce - I wouldn't be me if I wasn't asking you to reduce. Think about what you really need and what will be left at the end, is there a better way to consume. Refrained from buying lots of 'stuff ' whilst out shopping, trying to retrain the habits of the last 20 years. Did buy a couple of heavily reduced items - pjs - in MnS & a couple of cheap t-shirts as I wear them every day when at home.

Invest - in yourself, your family, your home - the things that really matter to you. Bought a hair product I had seen recommended for my hair type - fine & fluffy (!) which was expensive but I used MnS vouchers to buy it. Hopefully hair will look floofy & thick after using, but don't know yet. If it works it will be an investment in self...

New - new month, new beginning. Don't look back at past mistakes and failures, there is nothing that can be done about them, learn from them and move on.

Grab - take life by the horns. Do something which takes you outside of your comfort zone at least once this month. Did buy PJ bottoms today but couldn't have made them for the price I paid. Still will be doing the sewing, DF has cancelled her weekly visit so I will have some extra time.

NSDs: still 4/15 and won't be one tomorrow as it's grocery shopping day, well 10 minute dash round Lidly.

NO spending in coffee shops, work canteens, vending machines. If you do it needs to be planned in advance and budgeted for. Never go in coffee shops, no canteen, don't use vending machines either. But I still waste money! Passed the location for the woolly festival that I'm going to this weekend, will get refreshments there but they are supposedly cheap as it's a school.

    Go turtles!!
New start JAN15 - NOT BUYING IT 2015 . Long haul DFW #145 : 2011 DEBTBUSTING : £5500 OD GONE, £2000 OD - GONE £93,610.30 cc & loan debt - GONE 27.6.14 FINALLY DEBT & MORTGAGE FREE :happyhear

Shrewbie - one of the camino routes through Lugo goes almost past my friend's ex's front door!!
    .

Apple that sounds amazing. I need to get cracking with planning it.

Simplicity - Very excited about upcoming Easter break and have a couple of ideas for cheap things I want to do. I want to buy some rollerblades from the cash converters (so not flauting my new new things rule) and rollerblade down the river path. Probably looking like a bit of a tit but who cares.

Persevere - Spanish progress is good during the week but falls by the wayside on weekends. Had a bit of a falling out with my housemate/landlord so that has affected things. Won't go into details but she has royally screwed me over, and sadly illegal landlords seem to be accepted here more than uk so not worth fighting it.

Met a girl out on friday who said she wanted to meet for a language exchange so we will see where that goes.

Reduce - Chucked some leftover pasta that I didn’t eat, but didn’t chuck any veggies this week.

Invest - Been in contact with my mum and sisters this week. Spent a lovely friday at the library wihich I thoroughly enjoyed!!

New - No regrets about the past.

Grab - it’s looking likely that I’ll work for 1 month over summer and have a holiday for the other month. I’ve just lost some friday hours so can't afford to have 2 months off like I originally planned. Can’t wait to get my 10 day meditation booked as everything else will be planned around that.

    NSD - on 4/15.
    cockroach watch - none
get ups until easter break - 3!
    Student loan £5655
    House deposit €32,667K/€40k

    Morning everyone,

Yesterday was NSD #4 for me. A poor start, by my other days have been Low spends tbf.

Today will be #5, with my potential exercise class all budgeted for. I still need to go to the SM for those niggly things I forgot at the weekend, but they can wait till Wednesday or Thursday.

    :j:jI got a rejection!:rotfl:

NSD 2, everyone has got to where they needed to go, but I have had 2 texts from kids already today about things they have forgotten to take to school. I had already been to drop off one forgotten letter, when I got another text from DS2, so told that one tough!. They are 14 and 16 and I am not going to run around after them if they are too lazy to pack their own schoolbags properly. I will file that one under New: It is like they have turned their brains off in readiness for the holidays.

Yeay! That's how I felt when I got a rejection from a job I applied for earlier this year - the job wasn't what I thought it was going to be and I really didn't want it, so was happy not to get the offer :rotfl:

NSD - still 4. Took DS2 and DS3 to the barbershop, followed by McDs for lunch. Weather is still appalling, so it got them out of the house for a bit, at least, before we all go stir crazy. Am using the excuse of the weather to have the heating on occasionally to get the mountains of washing dry, though...

Simplicity - still sorting DS2's bedroom with him. Generally going well. DS3 has been drawing lots, which is cute :) Have had them both on some homework tasks today, too - want as much sorted before next week (when DD & DS1 are home) as possible.

Perseverance - DS2's bedroom...… Have persuaded him to part with maybe a carrier bag sized amount of stuff - although that is also on the condition he gets a new fleecy blanket (2 of his which are going are bright Disney ones, so we're going to go for something plainer now that he's 13) Still lots to sort - but it's definitely cleaner in there now! :o:T

Reduce - things which are leaving are going to CS/ shoebox appeal/ ragbag recycling/ paper recycling. Only things to go in bin so far have been 2 broken elastic bands, broken bits from several coathangers and the contents of the vacuum cleaner :)

Invest - time spent sorting things out in the house/ doing homework and admin this week is well spent if it means a free & clear week next week.....

NSD no. 4 today. I'm behind, but getting there!

Simplicity - I've got the candles going. I love the smell of them and they perfume the house nicely, so I'm enjoying them today.

Persevere - still plodding along here. My mood is much better now I can pop things back in the cupboards, and I haven't thought *f*ck it' yet and resorted to takeaway which I am proud of.

Reduce - very happy with myself here. Instead of throwing away some fruit that look ok sorry for itself, I have decided to make some blueberry muffins and banana muffins. I've mashed down the rest of the very ripe bananas and have frozen it.

Invest - put some 'change' into savings account. The pennies add up!

New - feeling pretty motivated and looking forward.

Grab - I am grabbing life and doing things I love today, such as baking.

Just had to pop on line to say that I am currently watching the Star Trek episode with the tribbles (again) in true High Def. Wow! Mothernerd will appreciate this momentous occasion, I'm sure!
