I did ask why they were offering £5 contracts to some customers, but we got cut off!
Not happy
or he/she cut you off for persisting ... not that you shouldn't but that's what some staff do when they can't be asked to dealing with you !0 -

maybe we should have two separate threads re this. One on information that will actually help those of us stuck with the CNM situation and another to let people discuss the pros and cons of the networks, blah blah blah.
I.e. any chance of cutting out the waffle?
Just one more whinge/waffle though!
People who enter a contract in good faith and comply with the terms and conditions desserve everyones sympathy if that contract is not honoured for whatever reason. With regard to cnm/pbd and the lies and deceit employed even more so. People that disagree with this simple point should perhaps be posting elsewhere as they are not posting in accordance with the spirit of this website. Perhaps www.mobilephonenetworksaresuperdooper.con.
However I feel Vodaphone have acted very well and I applaud then. I hope they gain business at the expense of the other networks. I am looking forward to my call from the retentions team at 3, I doubt their script will cover what I have to say.
I have a contract woith CNM. Therefore I would appreciate it if posters that do not have a contract CNM/PBD would make their posts helpful rather than implying that I and others are stupid and/or greedy.

Ok, point taken.

i am not implying that people are stupid and greedy. but if you're seriously trying to say that you expect the network to bail you out because you didn't end up getting a free contract for a year then i'm sorry but i can't agree with you.
you signed a deal that was risky. you didn't sign that cashback deal with three. how can you blame them for your gamble? It is better to be thought of as an idiot than to open your mouth and remove all doubt

I realise you've been hit very hard by this - but so have I and a friend of mine. I have actually posted a lot of very early and simple advice and information on here and other threads as soon as this happened. However, since I am in the same boat as you I have every right to post on here - just as I have to read a lot of rubbish from a few (not as many as I expected and not aimed at you!).
The only real information as such which can or might help is in relation to dealing with the networks. All the attacks on them and everyone else achieves zilch. There's a lot of information about Vodafone, virtually nothing about Orange and a few pieces about 3 - all in terms of their response and any options to assist. Any helpful postings on new information about these are the only thing which may really help people now. Having said that - I would be interested to know if cashback claims arriving by recorded delivery after 14th November start to come back to the senders, which should happen soon! There is a practical reason I would welcome this information as when when it happens.0 -
I think I received my cashback claim back yesterday, I wasn't in but a note was left. I will try to confirm this when I pick the letter up tomorrow. I sent the claim last friday (about 30 mins before reading that CMN had gone bust).0

MJ,
Not refering to u. I note you have contracts. Not hit that hard myself. A principle thing with me I am afraid0 -
i'm part playing devils advocate here, but why SHOULD the networks budge?? the cash back deal was nothing to do with them!!!! and with the vodafone £5 thing, there are two ways of looking at it. one they don't want to loose further custom etc and want to help out because of complaints to boost company image. but, a loyal customer, who values support and advice from a store, who loyally goes to the voda shop every year for their upgrade and then looses their job would not be given an offer of 500 mins and 250 texts for £5 a month. why should a greedy consumer who wants a free fone and free calls and line rental for a year who hasn't weighed up the risks involved and worked out if they could afford it if the rip off company went bust - like most of them do - get special treatment???
i'm not having a go at you specifically so please don't take it that way, but why EXPECT the networks to do ANYTHING that any other customer wouldn't get, regardless of where they bought their contract?
and as for the text i highlighted above, in my book that makes them the best. people get shafted by these deals ALL the time. if the networks just cave in and start treating cashback customers different to their other customers then people will see these cash back deals as a lot less of a risk and they'll continue to be taken in by them, because "if they go bust orange will sort it anyway"0 -
i did say i was playing devils advocate and i'm trying to look at all perspectives.
you expected something for nothing and it's not three's fault you didn't get it.
cashback deals are a rip off and it's the dealer that rips you off. you have no cause of complaint with three. like i said, you took a gamble, unfortunatley, you lostIt is better to be thought of as an idiot than to open your mouth and remove all doubt

Thanks me22AC; that is very helpful to know. Almost certainly won't make any difference, but have 2 claims to send so am trying to decide whether, when and how to. Nothing lost but a couple of stamps and an envelope. Lol! If it has been returned it will also be useful to know the stated reason!0
