• If you read all the previous postings and relevant advice you find the answers for Vodafone. There is a thread specifically on this too.

Phone 191 again, hopefully this time you will get someone who will help.

Actually, I phoned 0870 0779 779 and the guy (Kian) who I spoke to just a few min. ago was fully aware and briefed about the CoolNewMobile situation. It was indeed the 'standard procedure' of being called back within 72 hrs. Pheww..that's that.

I asked him how it could be that neither his colleague (or her teamleader) knew anything about the whole affair even when I insisted that "friends" in the same situation had been sorted out by Vodafone. He explained that not all teams within Customer Services may have been briefed about this but within the 'Credit and co-action' department they are aware of it.

So if you find yourself speaking to a brick wall politely ask to be put through to someone in the 'Credit and co-action' department / team.

    Cheers, Tico
;6867733]Can somone explain? Are vodaphone letting customers stay on their same plan but for only £5 a month? Are they offering this to everyone or just if you hassle them?

T-mobile have offered me £5 OFF or switch to a lower tariff but I might try and get them to offer the same that vodaphone are offering their customers....
Below is my posting from page 7. It clearly states the offer I received from Vodafone without even having to ask. It appears you do have to call them though and get your details passed on to the people dealing with the problems.

I rang them on saturday and they just phoned me. Don't think the guy was aware I had rung on saturday as he asked if I was aware of the problem.

Anyway, I didn't have to haggle in any way he simply offered me a reduction from midnight tonight from £35 a month to £5 a month for the rest of my contract - 8 months left on a 12 month contract.

I think that is the fairest thing they could offer. I still keep my 500 minutes and 250 text a month. I did ask if this acceptance started a new contract and he said no, its just till your current contract finishes.

Please people, read back over the previous pages. There is a lot of help from various people and at the end of the day - we are all trying to help each other.

They reduced your tariff from £35 to £5 on a 500 Xnet min tariff? Seriously? Jee, that offer is even better then cashback deal itself!
  • It seems vodaphone are the only network even halfway bothered about their customers in this situation.

I just got a phone call reply from t-mobile who offered me £5 off my tariff (35 to 30, which seems to be thier standard promotion for any new customer), I'm holding on thier offer and sent an email to customer relations (like that guy on the previous page).

Really hope that they are understanding.

Just phoned Vodafone - Lass on the phone didn't have a clue what I was talking about.

Said I can downgrade my contract from £35 500 mins 250 texts down to £20 for 75 minutes (she never said how many texts) - No use to me at all.

Might phone again later and hopefully try and get someone who is actually aware of what has happened.

What number are people phoning for this and what exactly are you saying, like I've said the advisor I spoke to seemed totally baffled/

    mobilejunkie writing about Voda:

Plus presumably they have retained commission that was to be paid out to the Mobile Affiliates in stages. The MA liquidator will have problems getting that paid now!

Commissions are paid out as a one off approximately 3 weeks after the connection takes place. No ongoing commission for consumer customers.

Commission on a £35 12mth Voda tariff is between £130 and £200 dependant on bonuses. Less the cost of the phone and that is the profit which the dealer can use to either keep, split some with the customer via cashback or offer gifts.

    http://www.avenir-telecom.co.uk/uploads/files/373VodafoneV1.pdf

If you take a phone such as a Nokia 6300 the lowest sim free cost (not PAYG) is approx £90, therefore leaving £110 less delivery costs.

12 months free line rental deals on 12 month contracts are just not viable, unless these companies work on a very low redemption rate, 20% to be able to offer a phone and £420 back.

A little while ago I slammed an organisation for trying to ban cashbacks, but I think the time has come for a total ban on these type of promotions.

The consumer obviously doesn't understand how they work, and expects everything for nothing and screams blue murder if they don't manage to jump through all the hoops and actually receive the chequeback or the company they have agreed this deal with goes into liquidation.

Hopefully after the meeting in parliment yesterday, legislation will be produced for a total ban, unless each offer is specifically authorised by the network and the network will take responsibility if something goes wrong in the future.

Unfortunately this will mean that the deal hungry people on the forum will be going hungry and maybe the industry will go the way of the IPhone.

Pay for your phone, pay a high monthly rental and get a few minutes and texts in the bargain. (This won't happen, but you never know)

Also, The directors of these high volume cashback merchants should be held responsible for their companies and struck off for being a director for many years. I have looked at a couple of the directors accounts, and they have interest in about 6 Ltd companies. 3 of them relating to Mobile Media.

There previous accounts are not that impressive, but with the other companies they have they look like they will just move onto other things, with thier Swag.
  • I've just had my call from the Vodafone department that are dealing with this and all they are willing to offer me on my three contracts is half price rental, they wouldn't budge

I did ask why they were offering £5 contracts to some customers, but we got cut off!

    Not happy :(
