    Hello all,

New user on the forums, would like to say hello.

Just wondering if any of you are experiencing problems with Orange. I took out the Orange broadband offer when I took out a new mobile contract at the beginning of the year. The broadband has been working fine and havn't had any problems so far, touch wood, but the wireless and talk where I should be getting free mobile and landline calls through the livebox still isnt working after nearly nine months of phone calls and emails to Orange. For nine months now I have been paying BT £35 per month when my phone calls should be free. Has anyone else had any problems with this?

    Thanks

    Chris
  • Hello Chris,

Yes we've had problems with the phone element too.

It worked for about 6 weeks, orange could see that as they billed us for the calls made, however, after a very severe thunderstorm it stopped working.

The light still shows that it should be working, however, the tone is dead....this was last October. We've grown bored of the number of calls and emails that we've made to them and decided to bide our time for the year to be up and then we'll look around. The call centre don;t have a stock answer for this one and we've received various bits to kit to add onto the livebox, all to no avail.

    I wish I had a more positive response but I don't  .

If you do get an answer....let me know!

    Good Luck
    LM;)

Thanks for the reply Little Mama

I will be changing my broadband too when my Orange contract is up next year, I wont be taking out another Orange mobile contract as after everything that has happened I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.

    Sorry rant over...

We are having big problems with Orange. We haven't been able to get on line using the "Live Box" for over a week and their customer service is diabolical. Obviously based in India and reading from a script they have been leading us a merry dance, blaming everything but the real problem the ppp server is down. We could have told them that. Finally tonight got someone with some sence and he admitted there is a big problem all over the country with the ppp server but that is no consolation still no internet via Broadband and no idea when it's going to be working. What a load of old tosh! In my opiniion they've taken too much on with all the offers and can't cope, so we are having to suffer. Disgusting.:D

    hi
a few months ago i changed from orange £17.99 package (which worked fine!) to the free orange broadband with dolphin 30 mobile package. my broadband started playing up ( kept going offline) and now it wont connect at all. i have rang call centre a few times to no avail ( they dont seem to understand what i am going on about). however i am not phoning again as it costs a fortune and i get nowhere.i have sent an email to orange but not yet had a reply.i know the broadband is free but you dont expect to not get online. i dont know what to do because my contract is for 18 months.but i want my broadband back or the whole offer is a waste of time. any suggestions
    thanks gill

I left Orange in June because of their bad service. I first signed up with Freeserve years ago, no problems, then they became Wanadoo, again no problems, then Orange took over and I've never had such a bad broadband connection. Their customer service is crap, blaming everything from your computer/phone line to your local exchange. I finally gave up listening to their excuses and constantly losing my connection several times a day (that's if I got connected at all) and moved over to Be Internet. Despite the fact that Orange always said the problems were at my end I have never once had a disconnection with Be, my speed is twice as fast and it's cheaper at £14.99. Their customer service is excellent too.

I would never use Orange again because of their customer service and months of emails and phonecalls without getting the problem sorted. It seems to me that they just can't cope with the demand after offering free broadband with their mobile phones.

There's a reason that they were voted the worst ISP by Watchdog, check out http://www.orangeproblems.co.uk to see how many people are in the same boat.

I know it's not what you want to hear but if you want to have an internet connection you need to leave Orange, the only options you have are pay to leave them as you're still in contract or put up with no connection. I put up with them for about 4 months, believing them when they said my line was getting improved or the local exchange was being upgraded, numerous emails and expensive phone calls. Luckily for me I was out of contract so I left and haven't looked back.

If you want to leave you'll have to pay but it depends how much you want to get connected to the internet. Personally I think it's shocking that you have to pay if you're still in contract as they haven't provided a service or upheld their side of the contract.

Have a look at http://www.orangeproblems.co.uk they may be able to help you as there's many people there in your situation.

  • I've just had mine cancelled by orange and it has taken the past 10 years of my life with it! Not fussed about the content as i have it on outlook, but need to access the account for *everything*. I understand there is quite a fuss being kicked up about this at the moment so has anyone else had problems as they say once its de-activated its gone. However, some are being passed on to head office .....

does anyone have any numbers to call on, or find out if it will ever happen??
