I'm just starting to move from dial-up to broadband. Currently on Orange (old Freeserve customer) and they're migrating dial-up customers to broadband in December.

I phoned them to see if they'd match or better TalkTalk's current offer, but they proved to be completely useless.

I spoke to 7 people before I got thru to Dial-up CS. They can't transfer calls between departments. CS told me they are only interested in retaining broadband customers. They have no flexibility on price.

Got absolutely no-where with them. I might take their broadband service for a month and then claim the cash back, but I certainly won't bother with a firm where I have to speak to 7 people to answer a non-technical question.

  • Hi,

I've been called Orange for 6 weeks now, trying to get broadband at my new address. I've been given a million different stories and excuses, but they can't get it sorted. Every call ends in them saying it will "definitely" be resolved in the next 48 hours, but it never is.

Today they said they "can't get a settled line speed" and that is the issue. They told me to ring tech support (50p per min). I said no thanks, I want a MAC code. Customer care are now getting tech support to call me tomorrow, but not hopeful.

Anyone know anything about getting settled line speeds? Or experiencing similar problems?

  • Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has had issues with Orange saying they can't get a "settled line speed" on their line?

6 weeks later, after having heard every line in the book to get me off the line, this is todays excuse. They are getting technical support to call me tomorrow but I'm not hopeful. This was after asking for a MAC code.

    I JUST WANT BROADBAND!

    Ahhhh!

    Anyone experience similar issues?

Orange is known for this...........the service is very good as long as there is no problem!

Technical team [based at India] is useless........it has taken 12 weeks [for one of my friends connection problem] to identify the problem was in the livebox!!!
  • I wish I had good news to add but I've been battling with them as well. Each time a promise of THEM calling me within 48 hours. It's been almost a month now and if not resolved soo I too will be asking for a MAC code...

    I wish you luck!
  • just got off the phone to orange to find that there free broad band offer is no more. it is now 5 pound for standard and 10 for fast with any mobile contract.
