Hi there.
PLEASE CAN SOMEBODY ADVISE ME !!!! I've been a customer with Orange since the Freeserve and Wanadoo days so I am not in a contract with them any more and they reluctantly admitted that to me after LOADS of problems over the last six months when I finally said I was leaving. I finally transferred away from them about a month ago. NOW - one month later - they're asking for the Livebox back in an envelope they've sent me - or I've to pay £100! WHAT !!! Nobody said anything about this when I was leaving a month ago - can they do this? Is it legal?

Of course it's legal, they were effectively renting the Livebox to you, so it doesn't belong to you! Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Thanks for that - the reason I was asking is that a friend of mine got rid of Orange a few months ago and was never approached or asked to return the Livebox. I'm sure these things are worth peanuts to Orange - it's just a scam to get more money out of you even after you've left them. And may it WAS in the small print years and years ago when I joined Freeserve, but NOBODY mentioned it when I was requesting the MAC code or at any time!! Now, a month later, when I've paid for ...........oh I don't know how many months - it is probably a year or so - of really bad problems of disconnection, crashing, not connecting, all sorts........... they want even MORE money from me!! I just can't believe it and I just hoped there was something I could do.0 -

Thanks very much for this - I've checked the website out already and it looks very good but it won't let me log on at the moment (Are you sure it isn't an Orange website !!!!!????)I'll try later. There are SO MANY people with problems with this company - it's outrageous what they are getting away with.

Why don't you want to send it back? If you are thinking that you can use it with another ISP, think again as it's locked to Orange.
:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
No. I might be stupid but I'm not dense enough to think I would be able to use it with another provider - I transferred to another provider a month ago and am happily using their router. However, now that Orange have asked for the Livebox back I can't quite locate it.0

You cant quite locate it? Or You do mean you've sold it?
Of course Orange have every right to ask for their property (that you was effectively only renting off them) back!0 -
