I have Orange BB Starter (part of my mobile plan). It has worked fine for about 6 months then one day..nothing!!
The dial tone is not being picked up. I rang the 50p a min merchants in India, told they will have to do a line test, so have to ring back as the system was down.

Anybody got any experince of what happens next??!?!
  • try basic diagnostics checks first. always good in the mean time.

check cables, check wall sockets, turn pc on/off - reinstall modem drivers, re-install pc software etc.

it may not do anything, but worth trying as if it does work - then it'll have been worth it.

check through member centre online (from anothe pc) and see if any extra info available.

From "The dial tone is not being picked up" I assume that you are using a USB modem, do you get any more info/error messages?

Lots of help available on their support pages here.

If you do need to call them, I do find the Orange/ Wanadoo support to be surprisingly efficient, much better than most.

I had to call an 0906 number the other day, and the guy seemed to want a chat about what I was doing that day - not on my bill!
