Christ, you couldn't have missed the point more if you tried....

The divorcing couple clearly can't, or won't, sell. Not at the price the OP offered, and probably not at all. They still have a huge amount of power because no matter how much the OP shouts, swears, stamps their feet and throws their toys out of the pram, either at the "seller" direct, or at MSE by proxy; there's nothing that the OP can do to make them accept a price they don't want to accept.

Maybe not, but they can walk away from the situation, while the seller can`t, you decide which predicament is the most "powerful".

Crashy, if you consider the thought the seller has all the power as ‘laughable’ perhaps you give an example of how the buyer could use ‘their’ power to alter the will and/or intentions of the seller, as the entitled ranting approach seems to have yielded little so far?

So a man walks up to a castle, hammers on the door demanding to be let in, the occupants of the castle ignore him completely, the man walks away and in your eyes he has the power?

Haha some comments on here are hilarious! This is why estate agents play stupid games because you lot fall for all the bull.

Crashy Time, thanks finally someone who can see this from a buyers point of view. Things just turn into a row on here and I won't be using other than for my own amusement on this post.

It doesn't enter my mind to go on posts and give the poster a hell of a lot of abuse at someone just wanting to give advice. We have two viewings now for Sunday so we can look forward to that now.

Buyers do have the power stop acting thick... It's a buyers market and erm they want to sell the house. Buyer offers a fair price and sellers are being stubborn so that's up to them isn't it... They can wait another 12 months festering in that negative house lol waiting for that extra 5k.

I'm really not so sure its a buyers market at the mo, everything we have looked at for developing is quite a bit more than it would have been a few months ago, and they keep selling. It could be just the area we are looking in, who knows.

My mate has had a good laugh at this thread and says he wont sell for a penny less than £235,000.01 to a certain buyer, but understands her problem.

She wants to offer more but is not allowed to by her partner who obviously wears the trousers and probably earns more than her.

  • Kate - if you think everyone is a loser on here why do you keep coming back?

Over the years I've found it really helpful and there are a lot of people with experience and wisdom, even if you don't agree with what they are saying sometimes.

If you don't want anyone's opinion or advice, don't ask for it on a forum.

Imagine opening a forum account to shout at people because you can't afford the house you want.

Almost as bad as shouting at people because houses are not selling at silly prices anymore?

I come back to read the silly digs on here it's hilarious. The site is a joke and full of estate agents by the looks of things and a couple of bitter vendors.

How is it even advice when people are disrespecting me and putting in cheap little digs as if they are the property seller. I find it amusing really but hey ho

So you think £230,000 for this house is a good price now? Well, there's a change.

You show me the average over-priced UK home for sale that is a "castle" and I will agree with you, otherwise I am still laughing. The couple trying to sell are very unlikely to be warming their feet at the fire as the peasants try to barter for shelter, they are more likely panicking and arguing as their "equity" slips away.
