Happy Saturday all, had a cosy friday night in last night, resisted buying food in, and brought home a beautiful free chair that was being thrown out - with permission :)
Reached out to some people yesterday and now I have social plans which feels really good! Approaching £20 on prolific academic (highly rate this survey site) which means a cash out with no fees :)

Walked to Lidl today to take advantage of their weekend bacon offer but got a lot of YS items as well. Strictly speaking not needed but all things that we use frequently.

Post was waiting when I got back. I've been offered a PPI settlement from an old credit card of £1825.07. I am astonished. I honestly didn't think that I had a claim as it was cancelled ages ago and I wasn't even sure that it had PPI on it. Most of it is made up of interest, etc but it just goes to show. I'm beginning to wonder if I'm due any more since that's the second unexpected pay out (the first one was much less).

Anyway, I'm sitting here with a G &T to celebrate my unexpected windfall.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

    Lovely, lucky you.

Have been out today for a walk, money has been spent on cake, ice creams, chips, charity shop items and a burrito. Have collected my M&S order and part of my Millets order, they have made a shambles of the rest of it so we have cancelled it.

Glenda - hope you manage ok without a f/f for a while.

    Toni'sfriend - how wonderful!

Today I am grateful for my ketlebells, for finding something I've been hoping for in a ch shop, for another veg-packed soup for lunch, for dd enjoying dance classes, for cutting back the pesky ivy and digging over some more soil, for a huge bumble bee, for dd doing some more sorting and clearing, for dd announcing that she loves algebra!

    Toni'sfriend - fab news!! :T

ponypal - I like prolific, too - I've earned £75 on there since early Jan :)

Small spend in Tesc0 - went in for baguette, bacon, eggs, frozen spinach and fruit - and that's what we came out with plus YS corn on the cob (will eat with dinner tonight - yum) and a YS cooked chicken (which we never, ever buy) Had some of the chicken with the baguette for lunch and the rest of the meat has been sliced and stripped and is in fridge and the carcass already turned into stock :)

Today I am thankful for bumping into a friend in Tesc0, getting more paperwork sorted for my nan, fab children, blue skies, line dried washing :)

    Hello :D
Finally I have some time to sit and just be relaxed for a while. It's been a busy week with lots needing to be done, and last night was the first proper night where I could just put my feet up. My sister came round and we had a couple of drinks and a catch up, which was lovely.
Then today I've been up and out visiting my bestie. Much more like what I've needed this week.
There is progress with the finances - court date is through and I have a very expensive appointment next week with my solicitor. In between more work than I can reasonably manage, but at least I have no immediate exam marking.
Nothing much to report on the mse front...

It's Sunday again in dolly towers which mean something has to go wrong, last week the shower packed up and today we have no hot water. The boiler is working for heating but not for hot water. The boiler is under warranty as it's only a year old but it is all still hassle.

Have cycled today and planted out my strawberries, rhubarb and blueberries. DH has cleaned the gutters and started to scrub down the decking.

Have made chana masala for tea and will make some flatbreads to go with it, I think this will cheer me up.

Quiet day here, The weather is very changeable so I've spent the day being lazy and reading.

We shouldn't really need anything food wise (apart from maybe milk) but still have a few spendy days planned. Hairdressers on Tuesday and I need to buy Easter eggs for the wee ones as I'll be away then. Lots of food in the freezer and I have a loose meal plan for next week. It needs to be flexible so I don't add any leftovers to the freezer.

Trying to think what is best to do with my unexpected windfall. Just going to ask them to pay it into my bank account for the moment and then I'll decide but I think it will probably go to topping up the holiday fund.

Chicken in the oven for dinner, That probably means chicken sandwiches for lunch for the next couple of days!

List of things that need to be done next week.

    Have a good evening, everyone.

Toni'sfriend - have fun plotting and planning what to do with the windfall.

Today I am grateful for plenty of sunshine, for lunch at some friends' house, for good company, for yummy and plentiful food, for dd still going strong with her barefoot challenge, for the fairy lights still making the lounge cosier, for good reading books.
